I was kind of hoping we would've signed more UDFA RBs. I would think we would at least need some bodies in camp, and we need to find a diamond in the rough.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

It looks like we have a bunch of hardworking overachievers on our team this year. Ogbah had a well written letter on PT about how his Dad immigrated to America from Nigeria and his hardworking struggle to keep that family afloat. Nassib and Schoebert were walkons. Scooby has a chip on his shoulder judging by his PT letter. I forget the rest of what I've read, but if these kids are as hardworking as they say they are, then this team is going to be good. As they say 'as metal sharpens metal, man sharpens man'. If this was just a case of 'saying the right thing', which often it is -- think Johnny and Josh -- it is easily coachable. But if that is the case, and all of this was just words then regression to the mean is a --.

That would be refreshing after the just get by guys we've been drafting of late. Be nice to have some first in last out guys around Berea. Some of these guys have a lot of work to do in the Gym. Get them on a real pro diet and weight program! Guys this young can really change their physique in a short time naturally. No juice needed. I can think of a couple of first round picks from last year that need to do the same.... Our new strength coach better light a fire under those two.

I think we signed a guy Hue had in Cinci earlier in the offseason, name escapes me at the moment.

Skov is listed as a FB, but at Georgia Tech that involves more carries than your typical fullback.

The Rutgers back looked good when he was healthy. Maybe he can be a steal if he can kick the injury bug.

He also played on defense at ILB making some bone crushing hits. To be honest, the things I remember from tape are from the defensive side of the ball.

j/c, I really like the Nile Lawrence Stample signing.
Anyother year this kind is drafted.

I knew, because of the depth of this class @ DT, that there would be some talent left over after the draft.
We got a fire plug to backup our NT position. Something we where lacking last season.

The 3 I feel has the best chance are Craddock the kicker, dude has a serious Leg and although i like Coons, I think the kid can beat him out.

AJ Stamps very underrated ky player. Guy can flat out tackle. Plays much faster than he times.

Mathews is in a battle for a position that is wide open. I think he has a good shot to make the PS and who knows he could earn the starting gig.

Try outs rather than signings I think. It is hard to keep it all straight.

Perhaps a medical red flag too.

On Stamps ... I think he was one of the combine casualties this year. He seemed to flash in games I watched this year.

To a lesser extent, I think that Rashard Higgins was as well ... Pre-combine his draft projection was rounds 2-3. That's what running in the 4.6's will get you these days.

Paul James is a tryout.

It would not surprise me to see us start camp with 3 Kickers, as we will need a lot of practice on kick teams. I would expect us to bring in another Punter as well, so we don't wear out Lee.

Why would we need any more practice than usual?

Koons is a very good kicker with a very weak leg. If The kid can get his leg strong enough to be consistant for 50 to 55 yard field goals as he is on 40 to 45 yard field goals he will be around and be loved in Cleveland for a hell of a long time. If however he cant improve his leg strength he won't be around on opening day this year.

Lawrence-Stample is the guy I'm intrigued with. Danny Shelton has to improve on his stoutness at the POA. His inconsistency as a two-gaping 0 technique was a key weakness in last year's front. Hopefully this guy pushes him to excel or pushes him to DE.

He's a true NT ... Jamie Meder did a yomans job subbing for Shelton, but we need to develop another option. He might be a good canidate for our PS, affording himself some time to hone his technique.

We are going to have a fairly sizable changeover of players on the special teams units. A lot of these draftees and UDFA types we have brought in are going to have to make the team on special teams, in addition to their regular position.

Guys like Benjamin, Robertson, and Bademosi are already gone. I would not bet money on guys like Moore or Carder making this team either. Armonty Bryant will be gone for at least 4 games. Guys like Mingo and Poyer are not guaranteed jobs. This is a consequence of adding so many players via the draft. A huge chunk of the core of our special teams last year could well be gone, and the players replacing them will need a lot of practice.

That's why I think that we are going to need more practice than usual on special teams, which could necessitate an extra Kicker and an extra Punter at least through the 1st round of cuts.

Got it.

Wouldn't this also mean that we need more work on both offense and defense as well?

Yep, thus 4 or 5 QBs.

Of our 26 (+tryouts) new arrivals, I think that Chris Tabor has his thumb prints on many of our rookies.

Corey Coleman WR/RS>Benjamin
Joe Schobert LB/ST>Robertson
Louis Ricardo WR/KR
Derrick Kindered FS/ST
Trey Caldwell CB/KR/ST
Scooby Wright LB/ST>Tank Carder?
Patrick "Snoddy" Skov FB/ST>Malcom Johnson?
Brad Craddock K/P>Travis Coons?
Jordon Payton WR/ST>Marlon Moore?

We still need to find a gunner out of the bunch to replace Johnson Badamosi, but I think we will have some good options to pick from.
