Funny The hawks and charles barkley mad at us going for the record...that makes it even funnier, so just because you guys suck, we shouldn't run our offense and just dribble the ball for 24 seconds and give it back to you..lmao..you know if you played defense then maybe you wouldn't have your names in the wrong side of the record books To me it always made more sense to just take jump shots (mid range or 3 pointers, whatever) when up by a lot and running the clock down. I'd rather players do that than get blasted driving to the hoop and I never liked the idea of just running out the shot clock (except on the last possession like they did, that's fine). I almost compare it to trying to strike out in baseball, that is more embarrassing to the other team than just running up the score a bit more.

As fun as that was, it's still just win #2 in the 2nd round. I don't think this sends any type of message to the Spurs or Warriors. Any team can get hot from behind the arc.

But I think the record they set at 25 threes, possibly may be incredibly long before it gets replaced. My boss went to the game, so basically he witnessed it all first hand and technically is part "of history". That's four more threes than the so called best three point shooting team in the game in GS.

I simply do not understand about how we "went for the record". If that was the case, we wouldn't have sat our starters for so long. The starters almost had the record in the first half. If you can't stop Mozgov, Mo, the Jones', and whoever else was in.....well than that is pretty sad. If we truly wanted the record, our shooters wouldn't have been on the bench. Instead we did the smart thing in resting them and if the reserves got it, then they got it.
The more likely scenario was that the non-shooters weren't going to get it and oh well. I mean come on, Mozgov logged the same number of minutes as Delly did. Last year that wouldn't have been a surprise but this year Mozgov has been pretty pathetic.

Starters sat for the entire 4th quarter. There's really nothing else to say.

Regarding the Hawks and their beef about the shot selection of the Cavs after the game was out of hand, Horford said the Hawks are a classy team and they wouldn't have done something like that. However...TWICE this season the Hawks had big leads going into the 4th quarter and continued to toss up 3s. They were up 18 on the Bulls and then took 11 3s in the 4th and then they were up 25 on the Lakers and then took 10 3s. SHUT UP Horford!
From the Cavs perspective, what were they supposed to do? Were they supposed to let the shot clock run out the entire 4th quarter? Would it have been less humiliating to the Hawks if the Cavs took high percentage shots around the basket and scored even more points? If you don't want them a team to shoot 3s, guard the freaking 3pt line.
I've been on the same side of the fence on this one a long time. In the pros, there is no such thing as running up the score. Any team can erase a lead, so if you have a chance to add to the lead, do it. And even if the other team has given up, pour it on because they're adults and they get PAID to play defense (and not give up). I was in favor of the Pats going for it on 4th down their undefeated season, I was in favor of the Cavs lighting it up last night, and I was fine with the Warriors pouring it on when they took us out in January by a huge margin. Play defense if you don't like it.

i really don't care about the sportsmanship talk.
this is the playoffs. if thats the level of effort the hawks want to display, then i hope the Cavs put up 50 on them.
stop whining and show up.

I just see it as whining and poor losing from the Hawks. This isn't some regular season game where you're down 3 starters, or you're in a major rebuilding year or something like that. This isn't a major college program playing a Div 2 school. This isn't a huge high-school mismatch. This is the playoffs, where the teams are supposed to be equal. Your team mailed it in, and now you're whining because you got played out of the gym.
And it wasn't even like the Cavs were really trying to run up the score. They weren't sprinting down and launching shots from the three line 2 seconds into the shot clock. They ran plays, moved the ball around, took occasional two-pointers, and in most cases, even ran the shot clock down to a few seconds. I'm sorry you slept-walked through your defense and couldn't buy a bucket. Are the Cavs just supposed to hand you the ball on every possession? We scored 17 freaking points in the 4th. The Hawks scored almost twice that.
Plus, I can't stand Horford. The dude is such a whiner. He's also the guy that dragged Delly to the floor last playoffs, gave him a people's elbow, and then claimed he was trying to take out his legs. I just hope he doesn't do anything cheap or dirty the rest of the series.

I kind of understood what Chuck was saying and I think he was more saying that The Hawks needed to step up and take pride in keeping the Cavs from setting records on their ass.
I do feel his choice in words was not good. But, I would agree with more of knocking someone on their behind, rather than " taking someone out"

Remember a few years back when Edwards was on the Jets and he was complaining about how the Patriots blew them out the stadium?
What did BIll Belichick say?
'It's not my job to stop my offense. It's yours'.
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

I think what’s truly deflating for Atlanta is that even if they slow us down shooting 3’s, we have guys that can punish you off of penetration for easy 2’s. Lebron James is the greatest in the world at it and Kyrie is elite at it. Those 2 don’t even want to shoot 3’s. They’d rather attack and get sent to the free throw line.

heat should be up 2-0 ... it may come back to haunt them
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I've felt he will sign a 1 year deal. Gain 10 year vet status with the Thunder. Then leave for San Antonio when the Spurs will have more cap space. If the cap space skyrockets in 2 years as expected, the Spurs can sign Durant. Then keep Green, Aldridge, Kawhi and Parker. Parker Green Durant Kawhi Aldridge I just hope to God we win a title before that nightmare scenario comes to fruition.

Yeah this don't look good, we believed our hype and Atlanta made some adjustments and are putting it to us. Luckily our outside shot is falling. Need to clean up the defense

Putting it to us? Really?? We're up 3, and we've been leading most the quarter, despite the Refs being as crooked as ever.

I'm talking the general feeling of the game. If it wasn't for love we'd be down 20. They are being much more physical on defense than we are. Kris freaking humphries is out scoring lebron. So yeah. I'm not impressed with the play so far. We need to wake up and get physical and blow the game open. But these refs are laughable

The general feeling of the game is blah because the crowd is out of it. We scored 31 in the first quarter. Thats not bad. Could use some defense.

We were up 5 at the end of the 1st quarter. We are up 8 with ~6 minutes left in the half. At this rate we are only going to win by 20. Lolly gaggers.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

I'm feeling kinda grateful that it's on ESPN so I can't see it.

Lebron and kyrie aren't pulling their weight and TT is killing us, outside of offensive rebounds that he does t immediately turn over he does nothing. Doing his Drummond impersonation at the FT line. They better wake up
