BELIEVELAND
Directed by Andy Billman
There's a special place on the southern shore of Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River where a special group of fans live and no matter what the Tribe, Cavs and Browns do to them, they always still believe.

Set your DVRs.

Yes, it won't be an easy watch. I figure we'll see every play that already haunts our nightly dreams, but we'll also see a lot of support and community that we are all in, no matter what.

Joking aside, I've had this circled on the calendar for a month already. Looking forward to it.

I am too. It's a prideful thing.

I've always wanted a "Believeland" shirt, but the few sites that sell them are VERY expensive ($32). I suppose I could make my own.

This can't be any worse than Draft Day.

Which is funny, because I once saw "The Drive" game being shown ESPN classic, and I thought "Why would I want to subject myself to watching this again??" ... But then as I watched the game, it was actually pretty enjoyable watching Kosar zip it around the field and the entire team playing like a competent football squad. Just make sure you turn it off for the last two minutes.

Every few years, I'll throw in my DVD copy of the Jets and Browns playoff game to see the same "competent football squad". Thing is, there's a bonus with that game, they win at the end. Feels good.

They actually screened several weeks back at the Cleveland Film Festival and they had a Q&A between the audience and the director, local media that covered the teams, Eric Byner, Craig Ehlo etc... Tickets for the screenings sold out very quickly.

The feedback on it has been positive and puts Cleveland and it's fans in a good light.

If it's a 30 for 30 with one of those Schapp father or son's narrating, then I'll pass. I don't like the melodramatic style they use; or how they'll try to put every cotton pickin event in history no matter how insignificant into a contesxt of "oh this changed every heart and mind and soul in the world" "and aren't you just supposed to feel so much better now that us "Schapps" told you about it.

I can't

Well you might have to worry about Jeremy Schapp narrating it ... but I don't think Dick will be tongue

I hear you, I can't stand Jeremy Schapp either. If I hear his voice, I waste no time changing the channel. His old man wasn't too bad on the that show he was on. The Sports Reporters?

I might have the wrong handle on this show, not having seen it, but I'm not in the least bit interested in being cast as the "lovable losers" in pro sports, like Cubs' fans. I sure don't want anyone's pity, or for them to pat me on the head and say "chin up, lil' trooper, your day will come.". Our teams may ultimately lose, but we're not losers. JMO.

Not saying Jeremy Schapp hasn't narrated a 30 for 30 as I haven't seen them all but I can't remember one that he did. You are probably thinking of E60 which at one point I know he was a part of, haven't watched it in awhile so not sure that is still the case.

Does anyone know how long it is? I'm assuming 9:30 to 11

That's the way I feel about it. I think watching this won't be much different than sticking a hot poker up my arse. I've seen the drive, the fumble, Mesa's meltdown, Jordan's shot, etc. enough to last a lifetime.

I'd extend the stopping time on the DVR. There is a WNBA game before the documentary and games almost always run long.

How fast do these things make it to Netflix? I don't have ESPN.

Like a month or so after? Just basing this on their past few releases. But 30 for 30 hits Netflix pretty soon compared to most shows.
