The Indians are putting it on the Reds, now up 12-6, after a 3 run HR by Gomes, and then a 2 run Homer by Byrd.
12-6 going to the 7th.

Why the #$%##@% can't we beat the stinkin' Twins. Ugh - so frustrating. I know the Reds are bad, but so are the Twins!

We rarely see the Tribe, and the Springfield paper has this men crush myopic Reds coverage. Lucky to get scores on the Tribe, much less any articles because of the paper's bias (Dayton knows best!). This beatdown was delicious to watch, and I cannot wait to read about it. The same paper is slaved almost entirely to the Bungles. Be a homer; I get it. But cover ALL of Ohio's pro teams. We literally give pages and more pages to all things Cincy; we give token coverage, if any at all, to anything out of Cleveland. Unless it is negative, of course. I love my teams as much as the next paper-buying customer. And the Cavs have had maybe three or four articles during entire playoffs despite two sweeps.
Go, Tribe! Go, Cavs! Go, Browns!

Lindor may be way better than Omar.... Oh. My. God. I can't believe I just said that... Lindor had a better year last year (4.6 WAR in only 99 games) than all but one of Vizquel's seasons (1999, 6.0 WAR). Lindor is already better than Vizquel ever was.

Great name - Clevinger.
Not bad 2016 AAA Columbus stats for Clevelandger.
He'll have to find the plate though (17 walks in 35 IP).

This is a weird 2 and 2, home and away series. Gotta feel for the Reds. They probably thought they had this one, going to the 9th ...... but the Tribe just said NO!.

Well, well, well...
The Indians are three games over .500.
Last time - September 28, 2014 (last game of the year). Tribe finished 2014 at 85-77.
In 2014 the Indians finished May at 26-30.

Cy Tomlin tonight.
A few fun facts:
1. Cy Young won his 500th game with Cleveland on this date in 1910. (May 19) 2. Me and Tomlin both celebrate our monthly birthday today. We both celebrate our annual birthday on October 19th. (PS. Please remember to shop early and avoid the crowds - apparently many of you forgot last year)(most of you)(OK... all of you)

Gritty win last night. Down 2 going into the 9th having just won two in row off the same team, that's almost a guaranteed loss. Boom, 2-run shot and then win in extras. Nice!
2.5 back of Chicago for first place. And we're technically in the wildcard right now (I know, I know, very early).

Hahahaha, apparently you all don't know how bad the Reds' pitching is this year. NO lead is safe for them. They are atrocious. Now, perhaps this wakes up the Indians' offense, but I wouldn't get too excited because the Reds are awful in record breaking fashion this year. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/m...-12th/84576436/No lead at Great American Ball Park is safe. No, not because of the home run-friendly environment, but because of the home run-friendly Reds bullpen. Tony Cingrani gave up the game-tying two-run home to Rajai Davis in the ninth and then Keyvius Sampson gave up a the game-winner to Francisco Lindor in the 12th, as the Indians beat the Reds 8-7 in 12 innings Wednesday. It was the 32nd and 33rd home runs of the season allowed by Reds relievers and the 27th and 28th in the seventh inning or later, as the Reds blew two two-run leads. “We want to win the games we should win, period,” Reds manager Bryan Price said afterward. “And if we did that, at least we’re capable of being there with Pittsburgh and St. Louis if we can put some games away. It’s maddening. As much as everyone kind of went into the season thinking ‘the Reds stink,’ I don’t think we stink. I think we’re a lot better team than what we’re seeing. It’s hard to watch it when games get away.” Price has had plenty of practice. The team’s bullpen has been saddled with 12 of the team’s 25 losses on the season and is just 4-for-13 in save opportunities, with Cingrani blowing his third of the year to go along with his three saves. But it’s not all on the bullpen, the starting pitching has been complicit as well. Reds starters are averaging just more than five innings a start and only twice have thrown as many as seven innings in a start in the first 40 games of the season. Only Arizona’s bullpen has logged more innings this season than the Reds’ — and nobody has given up as many runs (114) earned runs (105) or home runs (33) as Cincinnati’s battered and beaten bullpen.

Can someone call the league office to see if we can replace the remaining games against the Twins to be against the Reds? Thanks.

LOL Yeah, no kidding.
4 games over. That's World Series territory compared to last year.
The White Sox appeared ready to run away with the Central, but the Indians are not only 2.5 games out of first.

Quote by me on April 20th above:
“The next certain Indians TV game here in CT (vs Red Sox) is May 20th.
My AC will surely run by then.”
1) It’s finally May 20th. 2) MY A/C has not been on yet.
The Indians have an ideal starting pitching rotation coming-up for this week-end @ Boston. Huge series. Very tough, very important series.
I’m off to the store this morning for 2 lbs. of egg-potato salad, hamburger buns, provolone cheese and chips. Need anything?

Last year, on May 19, the Royals were 25-14. The Tigers were 23-17. The Twins were 22-17, and the White Sox were 18-18. We were in last place, with a 15-23 record.
Through the ups and downs of the seasons, we ended June at 35-41.
We are 21-17 right now, 2.5 games out of 1st. I think that we're in decent shape right now. We just have to keep it going.

Plus, we are doing it with Carrasco and Brantly out of commission, and Kluber not pitching all that well. There's reason to believe things will improve as the season goes on.

I've said it before.
Francona makes coaching decisions in such a way that his teams are always playing their best the last month of the season.
Not sure how exactly. He has a deep understanding, intuition, appreciation, zen?

Not sure how exactly. He has a deep understanding, intuition, appreciation, zen? That's the way it should be though. I feel like people think athletes can give 100% game in and game out for several months straight and that doesn't wear a body down. All you need to do is "keep pace" for the first few months and then turn it on when it really counts. This is exactly what the Cavs have done.

1.5 games back.
AL central is going to be a dog fight this year. I think all teams are within 3 games of each other (Twins don't count).

Huge win for the Tribe!
For so many reasons:
1) They beat the best pitcher in the American League. 2) On the road 3) A divisional win 4) A win against the #1 team in the division 5) The Tomlin magic continues He just wins. That’s all
