Kids today should be pooping in a sandbox. I mean we are turning them into a bunch of kitty cats anyway. We just have to make sure they all get participation trophy's for pooping.

We bout a small storage container and put sand in it for my boys.. That way it's portable (about 50lbs of sand) and we can close it up at night... Boys love it

When I was a kid I had a sandbox. Totally played with my hotwheels cars in there.

I dont have a kid. But if I did, they would have a sanbox.

And I disagree that all kids do these days is Tv and video games. I live on a cul de sac and the neighbor kids play in the street all day. Especially bball. All day long. In the street.

I agree, reading these posts it makes me wonder where the hell do most of these people live. I have a 7 and 8 year old and they are constantly outside playing playing b-ball, football, whiffle ball, kickball, dodgeball, or, "exploring" in the wooded area in our sub-division with their friends in the neighborhood.

When I look around my neighborhood, kids are outside all the time running around, playing games, riding bikes, etc.

I must live in a bubble, because I cannot relate to many of these posts.

P.S. Eve, b-ball is very popular with the kids in my neighborhood too. I hear them (including my kids) argue who "get's to be Lebron" or when they make teams "we're the Cavs!"

I think it starts with the parents. Either they let kids vegitate on TV/video games, or they put them out to play.

Kids used to ask me if they could mow the lawn, or rake the leaves, for a buck. Much love for parents who taught their kids to earn some money on chores. It reminds me when I was a kid and used to babysit.


So yes, kid, please do rake my leaves and I will pay you. High five on that.

My son played in his sandbox for hours upon hours. And yes, he had army men and Power Rangers in there too. He is 15 now. His sandbox was handed down to one of our Godsons.

Right now, he is rototilling the garden.

Later he will mow the neighbor's yard.......and he loves it!

It all depends upon the parents. Easier to place kids in front of some technology or the television and know where they are and what they are doing with little to no effort on the parents' part.
