Has anything affected trump?
Trump is right. He can kill someone, and for whatever reason, he'll get more support.

Trump is right. He can kill someone, and for whatever reason, he'll get more support. Unfortunately this is kinda true. I've never seen a guy, running for POTUS, sit up on stage and call other candidates names like a five year old... and still get so much backing. He gets so much free publicity, his campaign barely needs to dive into his deep wealth. Another year where the leading candidates all suck, on both sides of the spectrum.

As a country, we have nobody to blame but ourselves for this current crop of politicians in government.

The deal is, Trump is talking like real people talk about politicians. Trump is a outsider sticking his finger in faces. So, we are at a crossroads...vote for the person giving traditional politics the finger, or vote for the traditional candidate and give up your right to complain. This is a crossroads election that will impact our country as it moves forward.

We've all had a conversation at one point or another in our lives where we have gone "man, if I had a billion dollars, I wouldn't give a damn what people thought of me. I'd say whatever".
Welp, there we have it. That's what this looks like.

I'm pretty tired of politicians as a whole.. But Trump? No thanks! Why would a man of Trumps wealth (still suspect in my mind) be willing to take a pay cut that severe? On top of that, it's been reported he has spent 43 million of his own money to get elected.. Why would he do that? Please don't try to tell me it's "Love of country". The only thing that Trump loves is himself..

Pretty obvious to me.
GREED.... a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need for food, power, and wealth without ever reaching a satisfaction.

Could be greed but more likely the same reasons others, such as the Kennedys, Rockefeller and other extremely wealthy individuals/families. Most guys running for President or even Senator or Congress are pretty wealthy. Money they have. They are looking for power & influence in my opinion.
Besides who said Trump is talking a pay cut. His businesses will still operate. Probably more effectively. He won't have to pay politicians for favors anymore. He will have the inside info right at his side.

You, and Daman, are assuming that IF Trump gets elected, he'll lose his other sources of income. He won't.

Trump's greed is a sin against God, just as all mortal sins, in as much as man condemns things eternal for the sake of temporal things. Trump has everything, a loving family, successful corporation, wealth, power, and connections world wide.
He talks of the Greatness of the America in which he was able to achieve these successes and worries deeply that America will no longer be that land of opportunity for his children and grandchildren.
He doesn't like the way things are headed. He ran to fix those things that are broken with America.
I for one, wish him success.

You, and Daman, are assuming that IF Trump gets elected, he'll lose his other sources of income. He won't. I'm not assuming that at all.. What I am assuming is that he'll have his assets put into escrow as all former presidents have had while in office. That doesn't mean he can't touch them or use them, but that brings up another question, will Trump be a part time president? I mean he has wide business interests to hear him tell it. (of course we can't/won't know that until he releases his tax returns and list of assets) How will he have the time to run both the country and his business interests.. Both are very much full time jobs.. He won't be able to ride in his personal Jet anymore.. He has to take AF1 after elected (that is of course assuming he's elected) I don't believe he is permitted to handle his own investments given the nature of being president, he can manipulate markets and invest accordingly to maximize his profits. No previous President has been allowed to do that but I wonder if he'll try. he's just that much of a loose cannon. Wait, I think I know why he wants to be POTUS! He will do just that. he'll manipulate the markets in such a way to maximize his personal wealth/investments. There you go, I've got the answer LOL

It's a joke of a system when you tell them they can't, and they do it anyway.

So, you think the businesses he owns will just shutter the doors if - IF he gets elected? Really?
Or, would he have someone else run them, much as he does now?

I was more laughing at the statement To use an elected civil service position for his own personal financial gain? The person that posted that was attempting to bash trump - apparently completely oblivious to the fact that hillary has already done it.

Of course not and you don't; have to be President to take advantage. Have you ever read stories of Senate or Congress subcommittee members investing quickly in companies they just approved an appropriation or other legal "bill" that is friendly to that company. They also can't be prosecuted for it. I was just referring to the question "why would he take a pay cut to be President".

Let's be honest here, it's VERY clear that those in congress and those that have sat in the oval office have any plan to obey anything.

Yes, you were quoting daman. My bad. However, you then went on to describe hillary. As president, she wouldn't be able to give speeches for $200,000 to $600,000. How on earth would she replace her income by only being a president? That would be a huge, HUGE pay cut for her.

I think that you're wrong. It is easy for a man like Trump to buy people in Congress, and even in the White House. He makes money no matter who is in power, and his companies are not likely to make more just because he's the President. I think it's more about ego. I remember before Haslam hired Hue Jackson, and many asked why anyone would even consider working for him, considering his track record with coaches and front office personnel? The Answer, of course, is that there are only 32 of these jobs available. Why does Trump want to be President? He won't add to his personal fortune during his time in office. (if he wins) However, he will be one of only 44 men to have been President. I suspect that he truly believe that he will be able to do miraculous stuff, and so will be one of the greatest of all time. I don't believe that money is a consideration at all .... but power and legacy are.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

He'll, without a doubt, be in a position to make even more money as the President of the USA than he ever could have as someone that just buys influence. Every president has that ability. But there are rules in place to stop that from happening, I just believe with all my heart that Trump will circumvent those rules. Again, JMO! But I do agree, it's about ego for Trump.. The man has an ego the size of Mexico. (Maybe we should build a wall around him and make Texas pay for it LOL)

I think you guys are all wrong.
There are many easier ways to make money, gain power, and stroke ego than to take on 16 other Republican candidates including the establishment and old guard in the Republican Party. Becoming President, for Trump, has more to do with trying to save a once great Nation from itself and the policies of the Boobs who brought us to this point with idiotic policy decisions.

I don't believe that money is a consideration at all .... but power and legacy are. for a guy constantly slamming trump, and knowing trump's track record, your post make absolutely zero sense.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Pretty obvious to me.
GREED.... a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need for food, power, and wealth without ever reaching a satisfaction.
How am I wrong about his GREED! Are you saying Trump isn't greedy. This ought to be good. I'll check back later with ya. KI don't doubt that Trump is greedy ..... but I doubt that vgreed is a primary motivator for his running for President. The financial gains just aren't there to be made. The salary sucks, but his standards ..... and you know that people are going to be watching his every step so that he won't be able to do anything overtly that benefits his business. He will have to deal in back rooks to get anything shady accomplished, and he could do that from the private sector with less risk and greater reward to himself. I think that Trump thinks that he will be the greatest President of all time, period ..... and that ego is what drives this Presidential run. It's not greed .... because he could do much better for himself, and his family, buy quietly buying off politicians, and having people looking at him as a television personality ...... and not a guy who might be skirting the edges of the law with some of his political dealings. Trump could do far better staying out of politics and quietly paying off the right people that he can by becoming President, and subjecting himself to the spotlight. I think that his run is ego, to show everyone just "how great he is". It's not for business gains .... because you know as well as I do that his business dealings, and those of his family, will be closely scrutinized while he's in office, and after he leaves office. (if he wins) I believe that Trump thinks that he is smarter than everyone else, and that his legacy will be as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. I do not believe that, but I think that is his primary motivator .... to establish his "legacy of greatness", in business, and as President .... and being someone the history books will immortalize. I truly believe that is his thinking. Again, I think that Trump could do better for himself and his company by staying in the private sector, quietly paying of the right people to do the right things, that allow his company to prosper .... as I have no doubt he has done for decades. If it were about greed, he would not have paid for his own campaign out of his own pocket .... and he would have stayed somewhat hidden, so he could quietly manipulate things behind the scenes.
