Evidently can't out score or out block, either.

Miyombo is protecting the rim.

TT is not.

The Cavs only have one guy who is a real rim protector -- Mozgov. He can't even get off the bench.

Sounds like Biyombo is doing what TT earned his contract with last year.

I just think you're going to have a brutal time winning it all with 1 way players in the NBA if you don't have an elite coach. Kevin Love needs to be traded if the Cavs choke.

Both Love and Irving are elite offensive players. They both also stink on defense.

I'll take that second one, I definitely said something like that, although I don't know if I said I was glad. As much as I would have preferred a sweep and certainly don't like the way this one is going, I'd rather these guys understand that it's going to be a fight and take effort. I'm hoping beyond hope that this is the game that finally gets it through their head that effort is not a sometimes thing.

Having said all of that, the defense wasn't horrible the Raptors were just making everything. The refs were their usual awesome selves, good to see that's consistent. <sigh>

True, it's now best 2 out of 3. Let's see if the Raptors can maintain the momentum or do the Cavs 'refind' themselves...

After I turned the game off in disgust before the half, I told my wife this is the reason I shouldn't allow myself to have 'hope'. When you allow yourself to have hope it opens the door to the usual gut retching disappointment that is Cleveland sports. It's also why I will not pay for the Direct TV NFL package this year. The San Antonio Browns backers moved all the way across town so guess I won't be watching the games there either. Time to take up wood working again.

My post looks a little harsher in the cold light of day, sorry I wasn't trying to troll you Cavs fans. smile

Was just making my point that it ain't over til it's over, as Yogi said.
The Cavs still have home court advantage and I still think they'll win the series, but you never know for sure.

Bench Kevin Love and tell our team to stop shooting three balls. 13 for 41, seriously?

Oh, and can anyone play defense, know what defense is or could maybe make sure someone always gets a body on Byimbo? Especially our center that we just filled the pockets up with $.

This team is a crumbling disgrace.

I'm not that worried.

It's the NBA after all.

Do you think the NBA wants an Oklahoma/Toronto NBA Final? No they don't..

They want a rematch..

And what the NBA wants, it usually gets..

j/c:

I don't think I have seen as much whining and crying in a thread.......ever.

Sheesh....it's the Eastern Conf. finals. Not everything is a cake-walk. Toronto has a good team. Their guards lit people up all year. They were choking in the playoffs, but have apparently settled in and are back to their typical form.

The Cavs need to maintain home court advantage to win the series. I think they will. All this talk about trading guys away and how terrible this guy and that guy is and how Lue went from a genius to an idiot in 24 hours is absurd.

I think the Cavs need to really commit to the defensive end. The perimeter defense is lacking. Substitutions designed to help the offense are not helping the overall performance of the team. Cavs gotta get stops.

I think they win game 5 and will also be playing in the Finals.

The defense is a way bigger problem than missing threes. Lowry and Derozan basically had free looks at the basket all night.

I find it even more disheartening that the Cavs not only came back from 18 points but also took the lead and still lost. Lowry and Derozan are two of the biggest choke artists in the NBA. Allowing a team to come back from 18 down and take the lead on your home floor is the type of thing that makes those guys crumble. But the defense was so porous it was like they were practicing with themselves. Hell, I could have made most of the jumpers that Derozan was hitting.

Toronto is not a good team. They are two perimeter players. They depend on a scrub like Demarre Carroll for points. Yikes. The Cavs need to take some pride in your D and contest those shots by Lowry and Derozan. They'll stop falling and the Raptors will crumble. But the Cavs have to display some "want to". That was the worst defensive performance I've ever seen.

Love needs to keep shooting even if he's 0-30. When he goes into a funk he gets passive and screws the whole offense up. The guy needs to develop some "I don't give a damn attitude". He passes up wide open looks when his confidence is shaken and puts the rest of the team in bailout mode because they expected him to shoot the ball.

TT is nothing like the guy that played last year. He needs to put on his big boy pants quickly.

It's been a problem all year. I don't see it improving now. Love and kyrie can't defend. Smith is so unreliable. We will win this series ut not the next

I said all year our defense would prevent us from winning anything.. We are the worst defensive team left in the playoffs and so far in the playoffs teams are shooting 45% FG against us, you do that against teams like OKC/GS, you're losing by 30. I don't think Lue knows what he's doing, alot of his "genius" has been masked because individually and lebron they were confident and shooting well. None of his adjustments have really worked. A smart coach goes a little bit deeper in his bench, even in the playoffs looking for a guy that can give them that spark.. when you're letting a JAG like Biyombo pull down 26 boards, and you don't even look at your 7'1 260 lb center? makes no sense, you have delly, who gives you really nothing and has been a turnover machine in the playoffs, and you don't put in a guy that has been a proven scorer and pg in the league for years. Not to mention he can get hot and get you 20-30 points. Chalk it up to inexperience. But you almost have to not allow that excuse from a recent former player...they know what they should be doing. It's a 3 game series now, take care of home and move on. But I think they are scared right now. They believed in their own hype and toronto punched them in the face and they had no answer.

All I know is this team better work out its shooting funk.

And can TT show up? This guy has GOT to develop some sort of offensive game.

I'd agree....but remember when everyone wanted a Kobe vs Lebron Finals? Orlando beat our butts when we coasted into that series after sweeps in the first two rounds. Coincidence?

My favorite Non Cavs winning a title scenario is obviously Toronto winning it all because OKC is exhausted after it's game 7 win and Westbrick shows up..

And then Durant leaves OKC for Toronto and after GS and Cle.. THE RAPTORS become a dynasty..

Just think of the Drake album.. It's almost worth it..

We looked bad AND dumb. Adjustments that might get stops, please. Our threes were horrendous. They killed us in the paint, and we did nothing to stop the boards or scoring. Better get ready with some answers. And plan to do something other than relying on threes. Defense is always welcome.

Biyombo has been more dominant than TT has ever been in his entire career.. thats not saying over the course of career he's been better, but during these playoffs he's been the best big on the floor for both sides by a large margin. If last year thompson got 82 million, based on worth, biyombo should make about 115

He's setting the tone. We're attempting so many shots because he's enforcing the rim/paint. He had three blocks if my memory serves me yday, nine this series. If you watch, he dares LBJ to drive on him, he's playing with that type of confidence.

Plus, many of those rebounds came in crunch time.

He forgot to add his 3 blocked shots.

and 4 if you count the one that was pretty marginal that was called for a foul. Funny stat, the only player on the cavs entire roster that wasn't in a negative +/-? Frye at +5...like i've said, put him at the 5 and leave TT on the bench..Something that is going to be interesting how it plays out is when JV returns tomorrow.. He will present a whole new set of nightmares...all you can pray for is he's rusty.

Only person full of it is you, you can't stand being wrong, though you usually always are, so then you resort to picking arguments. Sorry bro, you're the only one outside of Thompsons agent that think he's anything other than a marginal player. Unless you are Thompsons agent. If you can't see he huge gap in impact between biyombo and Thompson you know even less about basketball than I gave you credit for.

I don't think we could beat either . We're going to be lucky to beat Toronto . I hope they aren't looking ahead

As long as we defend home court, we will be fine.

The OKC series looks like it's going 6. I dunno if they can pull another win at the oracle, but if they close out this win tonight, then they will probably end it in 6.

As far as we're concerned We can't let Toronto take game 5 at home.
