Six minutes for Frye before they put him in for garbage time. So they think he just can't keep up on the defensive end? At least they would have had his shot making ability on the other end. Yeah don't understand this one.

23 points from the non-big 3 just ain't going to cut it.
This game didn't play out at all the way anybody expected it and quite honestly it's a bad sign. They won without significant contributions from Thompson and Curry.. which means those 2 will probably go off in game 2.

I'm not sure what adjustments the Cavs make. At this point they just need to play better and then they can adjust from there.

It's a shame lebron hasn't developed a post game. That's why when we need him to put up 45 and bail us out once in awhile he can't. Every time he had a shorter player on him tonight he passed out of the post. This is why Jordan was so deadly into his mid 30s.

It's why the lineup with Bosh playing the five was so deadly. One of the reasons he left Miami was so he didn't have to play in the post anymore.

I know there bench is good but I dont think they shoot this same percentage again. It's game 1 on the home teams floor. A loss like this is not that uncommon to start a series.

Keys to the next game:
-Cut out the turnovers. -TT needs to shore up his defense -Better ball movement -No hero ball when you lose a lead Hit the nail on the head, this was the biggest fear we all had coming into this series was a lack of ball movement and too much ISO and that's what we saw all night. I'm not ready to put the razor to my wrist yet though. Just one game.

It's this simple: The GSW are just flat out a much better team all around than the Cavs. In all facets. Yes it isn't over, but a loss next game and go down 2 games and it will be...
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

Bottom line is regular season cavs showed up, which normally would be fine, but they played playoff Golden state, and the game looked alot like the others we played against them. It really comes down to talent, their GM put together a dynasty capable team and still have resources to get even stronger, the cavs pay people like TT 82 million. Same as Green. They were alot smarter building there team.. It is paying dividends now. You can stop Curry/Thompson, but the rest of the team is just as capable to beat you because they can match up individually across the board, while we need to send multiple people at Curry/Thompson, so that leaves all kinds of options. It's a pick your poison, unfortunely no matter which one you pick, you're going to die. I would almost rather us play a shootout with them then that crap we just did game one.

If this goes the way most think it will and the warriors close it out again on the cavs floor, I hope griffin tells lebron, ok, we tried it your way, i'm building the team now.

anyone else notice the drastic coaching style differences...Lue just sits there pretty even keel, not really acting like this is a Finals, while Kerr after the Cavs made their run, exploded on the sideline, broke the clipboard and called his team out, the result, they obliterated us the rest of the game. It may be nothing, but I do think you have to be much more intense as a coach in games of this magnitude to make sure your team keeps the intensity for 4 quarters. Lue is a rookie coach trying to lead a team that's supposed to have championship aspirations...deck is already stacked against him. I hope he figures out the right buttons to push and levers to pull for game 2

we got a total of 10 points out of our bench,...Delly was -19 +/-...worst of either team..his defense sucks, he can't handle the ball and he can't shoot...why not see what mo williams can do. He's proven he can get going and score for you. Maybe bring in Dahntay Jones for some minutes, he's a defensive specialist. I know you try to lock in your rotation, but when you got fringe guys that aren't contributing like delly, shump and RJ, maybe you look for new fringe guys. I think with the situation we're in you don't leave any stone unturned, I'd even throw mosgov out there and see if they can force Bogut in the game, When they put green at the 5 they are almost unstoppable. Put bogut out there and they slow way down. Mosgov can defend the rim better than TT that I'm sure. I don't know, its easy to look back and say you should have done this or that. But I believe you have to look at all options, who knows, might find something that clicks.

I was really hoping we pulled this one out but the fact is that we grabbed the lead after being down 14. This team didn't quit and that's actually got me pretty encouraged. We definitely need to keep the intensity up all game but we have the skill to run with these guys.
I understand that GS is an amazing team but the doom and gloom in here tonight is oddly enough just like it was after the Raptor's loses. I'm not comparing GS and Toronto, more our reaction to OUR team. We need to win 4 out of 6 which is going to be a huge mountain to climb but in the end it's do-able and if the team keeps focused and plays with energy.
Oh, and makes wide open shots. For some reason we seem to lose when we miss those...I dunno why...
Last in, first out, the sign of a true champion!

I didnt get to watch the game and my phone died while I was at work so I didnt get to follow along real close
But in listening to Lue in post game interview, one number really stuck out to me. 28 missed shots in the paint!! I actually think that is reason for optimism in game two

I'll clarify my statement by substituting the term "post game" with "turnaround J". A simple turnaround J when you have a player on you that's 4 or more inches shorter. He has never developed that consistently. I think that should be automatic for him. Heck, it's automatic for Livingston.
I'm not talking about camping in the post. I'm not talking about 75% of the plays in that YouTube cut up.

curry and thompson SUCKED and we still lost ... by a lot
their bench and role players destroyed us
JR was invisible
Love/Kyrie/TT on defense were invisible
Hero ball and isos all game
We're screwed yet again

Play Moz over Tristan. Tristan is going to be a liability in this series. Match Richard Jefferson on Livingston off the bench.

I was pretty surprised to see us switching EVERYTHING last night ... they ran the elevator play nearly every trip down the court (shooters receiving screens and running the baselines) ... and the screeners opened up and slipped to the basket multiple times when we switched.
Smart basketball by GS. When they opened up the game they used our own strategy against us ... we wanted to do ANYTHING to dissuade Curry/Thompson from getting open 3s. Middle of the floor and post was wide open ... hence the huge night from Livingston (he even said his midrange was his bread and butter after the game)

the only people I see saying that this will end with GSW winning in 5 are Cavs fans on this board. Were we being too generous?

The amount of crying, complaining, and playing the blame game is embarrassing. The Cavs are in the NBA Finals and you guys are trashing them after one freaking game.

I'll respond later. Just very irritated after reading several pages of pure garbage about the game. Blowing things up, trading this guy, cutting that guy, choking, this guy stinks, that guy is worthless, etc
It's the freaking Finals! Time to support the team. Sometimes I wonder if Cleveland's fans get what they deserve. Completely trashing the team after one game in the freaking Finals. Jesus, the Browns can't sniff the playoffs. Maybe fans should be relishing this series instead of crying like spoiled two-year olds.

Ya know I am feeling very proud of the Cavs. I know it's not over, but second is a heck of a lot better than the Browns winning 4-5 games every year. Unfortunately, we are running into an absolute juggernaut in the Warriors. It's just Cleveland's luck. It sucks, but what can we do as fans.

38% shooting. Like 28 missed in the lane. Won't happen game 2.
Confident we go home 1-1.

Forgive in advance for passing up 16+ pages of what I'm sure are colorful and depressing comments, but here's my colorful and depressing comment I'm guessing is a repeat:
Our bench sucked big time and it seemed the only person to play with heart was LBJ. I had to turn that game off early, as I wasn't going to cut into my shut eye to watch them struggle incredibly bad.
I'd be feeling really confident if I were a GS fan, sad to say.

GS went on a huge run after Delly hit Iggy in the manbag. OKC did the same thing after Draymond's donkey kick to Adams. I think the key to Game 2 should be to get kicked in the nuts early and take over.

I don't think its a big deal whatsoever with all the comments throughout the game last night. It's synonymous with the Gameday thread that happens during football season. For those that don't like people's in game emotions, over-the-top comments, either: (1) Do what you did and skip them over (2) Start a game day thread for the Cavs postseason (3) Deal with it. It's that simple. Whining and crying about people whining and crying is just as bad.

So technically with your comment, you're whining and crying about the others who were whining and crying upon those initially whining and crying? Lol I'm just giving ya a hard time bro. I skipped over the pages because there were alot to have shifted through and I'm on the mobile, not because I didn't want to deal with the comments. More lazy than content/substance, which is why I started the post off with the warning.

Clearly we have varying definitions of what whining and crying means.
I, like you, skipped over those pages. I would just hate to read the next few pages from people telling others how to post and criticizing reactions during a very emotional time for Cleveland fans.
This isn't uncommon on this board. Posters go through emotional roller coasters all the time on here during games. People shouldn't be called out for it...just ignore it, join in, or deal with it.
