Just ordered my 2016 champions hat and t-shirt.
Been a good while since I bought any Cleveland gear. Dare I say the disgruntled fan in me is wearing off?

Is This Heaven? No, It’s Cleveland By JOHN HYDUKJUNE 20, 2016 http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/21/sports...s&smtyp=cur On a warm June night in Cleveland, 20,562 pairs of hands gathered to lift a curse. Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cavaliers, was hosting an official Game 7 watch party. The place was gussied up in wine-and-gold banners proclaiming, “ALL IN.” In fact, most things were all out. The $5 tickets for the 20,562 indoor seats sold out in less than a minute; a like number of admissions for the outdoor plaza were also gobbled up in under a minute. The chosen ones (apologies, LeBron) shuffled past their ticketless brethren in an approximation of the Last Judgment, marching toward not the Pearly Gates but the Gateway Plaza security. “Anybody got a ticket to sell?” a tattooed man said. “One ticket?” Inside, your co-hosts, Ahmad and Nicole, a CLE-clad couple, took over the Humongotron. “The center-hung scoreboard has four enormous HD video screens that are tilted and uniquely curved to provide optimal viewing angles for all fans” is the way the Q’s website described it, and the Big H, replete with flaming sabers, could barely contain Ahmad’s enthusiasm. “It’s Game 7 of the N.B.A. finals with the Golden State Warriors” — we boo — “going against YOUR Cleveland Cavaliers!” High in the rafters — the uppermost stretches of the Q are dubbed Loudville — Nicole cornered Mark, a young fan. She asked what his plans were after the Cavs won. Mark’s eyes went saucers, as if the thought had never really occurred to him. Then the Humongotron filled with pregame warm-ups live from Oakland. There was LeBron James’s face, broad and as impassive as the Sphinx. And the building lost its collective mind. Is this heaven? No, it’s Cleveland. “Do not engage in any fighting or throwing of objects,” the public-address announcer reminded us. “Violators will be ejected and subject to arrest.” It’s not easy being CLE. In most cities, sports failure is an occasional painful lesson; in Cleveland, it has been the entire point. Futility here turned into an annual ritual: The (insert franchise name here) would start the season with high hopes, lose much of their steam via poor on-field play and horrible front-office miscalculations (see Johnny Football), and reload with a new crop of talent, only to reprise the outcome. The Cavs had seemingly followed the script, left for dead after the fourth game of the championship series as assorted talking heads proclaimed that no team had ever come back from a 3-1 series deficit. Believeland would have none of it. “Cavs all the way,” Laurie Coduto said. Her husband, Mike, agreed. “You know the Cavs are going to win,” he said. The Codutos were there Sunday night because “we want to be part of history,” Laurie said. The music kicked in. Billy Idol was singing “Rebel Yell.” Or it could have been “White Wedding.” Heck, it could have been Pachelbel’s “Toccata in E Minor.” No matter. It was the moment, and the moment is what set the wheelchairs in the Subway Fan Zone to dancing. Continue reading the main story RELATED COVERAGE CAVALIERS 93, WARRIORS 89 | CLEVELAND WINS SERIES, 4-3 Cavaliers Defeat Warriors to Win Their First N.B.A. Title JUNE 19, 2016 SPORTS OF THE TIMES A Long-Sought Title Belongs to LeBron James JUNE 20, 2016 KEEPING SCORE N.B.A. Finals Legend or Loser? It Often Comes Down to Circumstance JUNE 19, 2016 A trio of young men passed, laden with enough nachos for a week in the North Woods. “Follow me,” one said. “Know where you’re going?” “No.” You knew by the time of the player introductions that something was different. As the lights dimmed, and just before the Humongotron belched fire, a fan waved a sign: “LeBron the Real M.V.P.” Maybe. The Warriors closed the half strong. Draymond Green ignited an 11-4 run in the final four minutes of the second quarter, and Golden State took a 7-point lead into the locker room. No matter. “The Cavs are going to win,” said a woman who gave her name as Ophelia. Calm in the storm, she was there “to be part of the excitement.” The elite craziness took place in deeper waters. The Cleveland Indians’ afternoon game against the Chicago White Sox provided the undercard, and Tribe fans wandered over from the ballpark to join the throng outside. The vibe was Spring Break North; the dress — what there was of it — was casual, the conversation livelier. “Did you get him anything for Father’s Day?” a young woman asked her friend. “Who says he’s the father?” her friend answered, not looking up from her drink. Nearby, another young woman lectured a boy. “Don’t play for a team,” she scolded. “Be a lawyer and own the team.” She added, “I dated a lawyer, and I should know.” The boy was about 2 years old and tiny, riding on his father’s shoulders. Dad and son quickly moved away. With 1 minute 50 seconds left in the game, James uncoiled a chase-down block of an Andre Iguodala shot. Kyrie Irving hit a step-back shot over Stephen Curry. Curry answered with a wildly errant 3-point attempt on the other end before James was fouled hard. He knocked down the second of two free throws for a 4-point Cleveland lead with 10 seconds on the clock. Chants of “M.V.P.!” rocked the Q. Please, no more about the Curse. Suffice to say, the Cavs put up a season that any thinking sports fan ought to have been proud to witness. Cleveland has beaten flawed teams, like Atlanta, and it has beaten young rosters just coming into their own, like Detroit and Toronto. The Cavs are smarter than any team that’s tougher, and there aren’t many of those. It could be argued, while listening to Wiz Khalifa rattle your molars, that sport has sucked the charm out of the contemporary game and replaced it with volume. Marketing is a simple villain. Hunger for karmic justice, and they will offer you a discounted hot dog. Shiver in the cold rain of a half-century of disappointment, and they will hand you a FirstEnergy T-shirt. That is the way the game is played now. It is easy to overlook the obvious even when it is flashed onto a video screen the size of an apartment building. The real power lies inside, coiled and remarkable. It always has. It is what causes the granny during the Irving warm-ups to chair dance to mad beats. It is what causes the beanpole wearing a Matthew Dellavedova jersey as a belly shirt to lean to his left to misguide a Curry free throw, even if the hoop in question is 2,200 miles away. And yes, it is what turns every “Brian on a car phone” into James Naismith this time of year. No maybes here. We’re going to win. Not “they” or “I.” In the end, the Cavs played like a team with a chip on its shoulder, winning for a city full of people with a chip on theirs. Which brings us back to Mark, pondering a course of action for the final buzzer. “I’m going to go running in the street,” he said. It was a beautiful summer night, a gentle breeze finally coming over a Great Lake, past the glass pyramid of the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame. The Cavs were champs. A spell had been lifted without crystals, roosters or the intercession of Madame Zora. And there was nothing left to do except join 20,562 of your closest friends and run in the street.

Cavs Championship Parade preps, security a top priority CLE council president expects 500,000 to attend 9:34 PM, Jun 20, 2016 1 hour ago http://www.newsnet5.com/news/cavs-championship-parade-preps-security-a-top-priority CLEVELAND - Cleveland leaders from several city departments are scrambling to hammer out the final details on Wednesday's Cavaliers Championship parade through downtown on June 22. Cleveland council president Kevin Kelley confirmed he expects parade details to be released early on Tuesday June 21. Kelley told newsnet5.com he believes parade logistics will be much like the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown, although expects attendance to be double the size. "People should plan ahead, they should plan on getting down there early," said Kelley. "They should plan on either walking or having a transportation plan." "You've got to remember if you're going to bring probably 500,000 people downtown, you want to make sure everybody is safe. You want to make sure the crowd is controlled. You want to make sure the property is properly cleaned up. You want to make sure there is a police presence." Kelley said the St. Patrick's Day parade relies on surveillance cameras, bomb sniffing dogs, and the Cleveland police motorcycle and mounted units to provide a wide variety of event security. Kelley expects the Cavs Championship Parade to include many of the same security measures. The Cleveland Mayor's office told newsnet5.com leaders from several city department held meetings on June 20, working on final parade details, which will be released on June 21. "It's going to be in the 70's, it's going to be sunny," said Kelley. "I think people have been waiting for this for a long time, I think this is going to something, it's going to be hard to miss this."

Yeah, most estimates I have heard here locally have the parade total closer to 1 million people, which is just insane.
I looked at getting a hotel room in downtown on Tuesday night to take the family up just to avoid what is sure to be a parking nightmare, but every hotel is completely booked.
It is going to be insane. Most people I know are headed up around 7:30am or so to get a spot.
I have four buddies from high school that all live out of state and are flying in tomorrow to go to the parade on Wednesday.

Well, I might as well get down there around 7am. I've got an Indians game later that day, and batting practice beforehand. I'm afraid the city might just shutdown.

I think I finally have my thoughts in order.. Maybe..
As I said, I worked Sunday night, I honestly did not get a lot of work done because I had the game streaming on my phone the entire time sitting on my forklift (only got yelled at once)
As it relates to the game, just overall a great game to watch really. Drama to the nines even if you had no vested interest in either team.. However, we did.
I felt pretty good after the first quarter, they were draining threes and it was a one point game. Heck I felt good down 7 at the half..
But when the score hit the mid 80s, and they took a 4 point lead.. I legitimately thought it was over.. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.. And waiting.. And waiting..
I sat there, parked on my forklift no longer worried about work.. Just waiting for GS to pull away.. Seriously what's taking so long.. Hurry up so I can get back to my life..
And then suddenly I realized, there was a minute to go.. And we had the lead.. And then we had the ball..
LeBron drove and got hit, and hit the floor hard.. And I said "that's it" but he pushed the lead to 4 with 10 seconds left.. Ok.. So how do we lose now?
6 seconds left and Curry gets the ball and my phone buzzes..
See here's the thing about streams. They aren't live. Because of lag and whatnot.. The buzz I got.. Was my ESPN App..
All I saw was "BREAKING: Cavs defeat Warr"
I dropped my phone.
I cried.
It didn't seem real. The rest of the night was a blur. I didn't know how to process it. I'm conditioned to say "well that sucked" and move on.. Part of me wondered when game 8 was..
I'm 29 years old. I obviously haven't waiting as long as some. I also didn't get the benefit of a couple College Football National a Titles to pass the time though. This is my first championship, ever.
I vaguely remember Jose Mesa. I just knew I was supposed to be upset. The 2002 playoff game hurt a lot as a kid. The collapse against the Red Sox pretty much ended my interest in baseball. My reaction to the decision was a laugh. I went out and bought a James Cavs shirt at Walmart the next day for $5. I just wore it yesterday. Bringing it full circle..
It hurt that I wasn't at home, watching the game live, I think I would of enjoyed it more obviously. I felt somewhat detached.
But it really happened, no really.. It did. Believe me I keep having to tell myself..
It seems poetic that after all Cleveland has been through they win with "The Shot" by Kyrie.. And clinched it after "The Drive" from LeBron..
Does it mean as much as if the Browns won? No. Absolutely not. The Cavs are 2a on my list of favorite teams, and only the "A" because of this series, and how they won it..
I won't retire my orange and brown "Just Before I Die" shirt because of this. Because while I got one, and I will cherish it.. So many TShirts and hats to buy..
I'm still waiting for the ONE. And I will wait, but I have this to get me through..
If anything, it was a great Father's Day present, and a good start to the week of my wedding..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Lebron finally told his secret motivation that we've been hearing about since last year.
Supposedly someone in the heat organization (Riley) told him that going to Cleveland would be the worst decision of his life. Just like "somebody" told him that he would regret going to Miami..

Parade Begins at Q at 11:00 CLEVELAND, Ohio – The parade celebrating the Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA Championship title and historic victory over the Golden State Warriors will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. outside Quicken Loans Arena, City Council President Kevin Kelley said. Kelley said Tuesday morning that the parade will begin on East 6th Street, with a primary route on East 9th. It will conclude on St. Clair Avenue between Malls A and B, where a special program is planned to honor the Cavs, Kelley said. Workers appeared to be assembling a stage at the location Tuesday morning. The city is expected soon to release more specific details about the route and road closures.

Well, my company reserved the rooftop bar at The Nine awhile ago for today and tomorrow. Talk about wishing I could go to this client event haha. It would be amazing to be at the parade, and get paid for it! Completely amazing. The views from there, I can only imagine.

Parade will start at 11 a.m. on Wednesday outside Quicken Loans Arena at East 6th Street
The parade will go north to Huron, then west to Ontario, then south to Carneige to East 9th Street, then north on East 9th Street.
There is a tentative plan to turn west onto Lakeside to get to the mall.

I'm debating on how early I need to get there. Decided I'm not going to sit on the parade route, but rather right by the stage on the mall.

Apparently LeBron's Instagram post is re-igniting the haters. I personally love it. He has been ragged on this entire season, doubted, said he was done and proved everyone wrong. Love the "none of my business" Kermit cap, lol! Excellent touch. LeBron James has an Instagram message for all the doubters Eric Freeman By Eric Freeman 14 hours ago Ball Don't Lie  The Cleveland Cavaliers' first-ever NBA championship silenced considerable questions over the construction of the team, LeBron James's decision to return to his first franchise, and many other issues regarding a squad that didn't appear to find itself until the postseason. It was a strong statement, the first comeback from 3-1 down in the NBA Finals and a stunning turnaround against a Golden State Warriors group looking to join the ranks of the best teams in league history. [Follow Dunks Don't Lie on Tumblr: The best slams from all of basketball] The title also stands as the defining moment of LeBron's career. After returning to Cleveland to a hero's welcome on Monday, James put out a message to anyone who doubted him or the Cavaliers on Instagram: They said u lost a step, wasn't explosive as once was, the best days was in the real view, questioned your drive, your leadership, your commitment, you don't have killer instinct, going back home is the worst mistake in your career, he got the coach fired, players traded, won't work between him and Kyrie, Him and Kev won't work, love your teammates to much, there's no way he can deliver a championship in his hometown, etc etc etc.... But guess what THATS NONE OF MY BUSINESS #StriveForGreatness #ThisOneIsForTheLand #PutSomeRespeckOnMyName Hahahaha!!! Yes sir LeBron calls out several popular takes on the Cavaliers from the past two seasons, including his dealings as the team's quasi-GM and what seemed to be a less-than-ideal fit with Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and the rest of his supporting cast. All of them are familiar, except maybe the idea that he loves his teammates too much. That one seems like a bit of a humblebrag. However, it's worth paying special attention to the idea that going back to Cleveland was the worst case in his career. During the 2015 NBA Finals against Golden State, James revealed that he had a "secret motivation" for wanting to win the series. He revealed it to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com on Sunday night: "When I decided to leave Miami -- I'm not going to name any names, I can't do that -- but there were some people that I trusted and built relationships with in those four years [who] told me I was making the biggest mistake of my career," James said. "And that s--- hurt me. And I know it was an emotional time that they told me that because I was leaving. They just told me it was the biggest mistake I was making in my career. And that right there was my motivation." It seems clear that joining the Cavaliers in the summer of 2014 was not a mistake. LeBron's legacy is secure — he brought Cleveland its first major professional sports championship since 1964 with one of the best NBA Finals performances in history. The road was bumpy and full of doubt from analysts, much of which seemed perfectly justified at the time. Now, though, LeBron can sip his tea and mind his own business. He was right, we were wrong, and the Cavs have that title. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-d...-025333978.html

Apparently LeBron's Instagram post is re-igniting the haters. The only reason I've seen anybody get on him over it is because after game 7 he said he doesn't listen to all of that in the media.. yet he has a list prepared of everything everybody said... so evidently he does listen.

1,000,000 people....wow.
Decided on getting there around 6 am. Going to just sit on the mall. Rather watch them on the stage for awhile instead of just sit on 9th to see them go by in five minutes.

There was about a million in denver for the Broncos parade. LEt's hope Cleveland has a bigger turn out. Tried to convince my boss in letting me take "business trip" to cleveland, didn't go over so well.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
