General question - after the win I left to get home as I had an early day Monday. So I did not see a lot of the post game. I heard later that D Green was the only Warrior to stay a bit and congratulate the Cavs.

Is that true? Is the guy on that roster with the most class and sportsmanship the one who got suspended for punching someone in the sack?

Yes, from my memory, he came back onto the court to congratulate all the Cavs players and coaches because they earned the win. Some are saying Green is taking a shot at a few of his teammates that "ran" off the court as the buzzer sounded, but I don't buy it. A few hung around, most took off, but that's expected. This isn't the NHL where you HAVE to shake everyone's hand.

He's a jerk on the court, no doubt about that, but he sounds like a stand up guy off it. Without his fantastic play in Game 7, the Warriors would have been blown out.

Pretty sure Curry was congratulating people too. I saw he had a lengthy conversation with Irving. I think Klay Thompson was the only one who rushed off the court, but they didn't exactly put cameras on all the Warriors at that point.

Where would you go to celebrate the historic win and being a NBA champion.

Disney world or Disney land ?

Delly decided to stay local and go to Cedar Point.

First I would make a quick stop over a club in Vegas.

I always thought I would cry in a moment like that, but I didn't. I think the shock was too much for anything else. Not just the game, but the whole series, the whole playoff run, the season. Getting pasted by those guys in January. All the beatdowns and 4-12 seasons, and rooting for draft picks and all that other crap came to an end in one moment (well maybe not the 4-12 seasons haha) I just couldn't believe it. I still have a hard time grasping it.

Even watching the shot of the guys getting off the plane and Lebron holding up that giant gold trophy, it DIDN'T EVEN LOOK REAL.

I watched the last minute of the game a bunch of times, and it's crazy that the Warriors panicked. It reminded me of how the Soviets handled the last few minutes of the game against the USA in the '80 Olympics. They didn't know what to do. They made a remarkable comeback against OKC in game 6, but it took place during several minutes. This was in the final minute and after Irving hits that 3, they opt to not call the timeout, which is smart, because Tristan Thompson was not on the floor, but Curry took so much time to do something. Irving hit the 3 at 53 seconds, and Curry was still screwing around with it, almost through the entire shot clock.

Awesome game though. Wouldn't be surprised if these two met up for a rubber match in 2017.

Remember when people in this very thread were saying Curry>Lebron?

Yeah... about that.

That's not even a conversation. For crying out loud, Kyrie Irving outplayed that dude in the series.

I don't want to down play other players contributions, but the MVP rankings in that series for me was:

1. Lebron
2. Kyrie
3. Tristan

Thank God we'll probably have all 3 for awhile. I'd love to keep a guy like JR, but I feel that he can be replaced.

Yup, I am going to take the exact same route as I do to the Browns game.

1. Coming from Columbus, get off at W 150th street and head to the Puritas RTA stop. I believe parking is free.

2. Get off at the Tower City stop, head out onto the street and your near the heart of downtown.

3. Planning on leaving house at 6AM, getting to Puritas at 8AM, get to Tower city at 8:30 roughly????

Man, I'd be careful that there's parking at the train...

This is probably a valid concern. I should probably look at places nearby as well.

Looks like that lot has a capacity of

Free parking: 558 spaces.

There's also an app for that, although it doesn't appear to be fully deployed in Cleveland yet. I've used it here before...

I know this might sound silly, but I think next year will be the most enjoyable Cavs season for me. Getting the monkey off the cities back kind of lets you relax a bit as a fan.

Glad to hear of everybody heading in...I am a bit too far away.....600 miles....I will be there in heart.

This seems like a long way from the days of Walt Wesley, Luther Rackley, and Dave Sorenson.

+1

I'll be home watching it on TV. I'd be okay with 13 hours on the road, but I'm watching the kid tomorrow, I don't think she's up for that.

Congratulations to the Cav's, I'm still in awe.
I was on a mini vacation in Tunica MS. Golfing, I didn't have a lot of support around me during the game.
I live in the deep South, not many people care except the ones that know me and what Cleveland has endured through my stories.

I did convince as many as possible to watch Believeland if they really wanted to understand a Cleveland fan.

BTW- I did lay $50 in Vegas in April for Cav's to win it all, Time to collect the 250.00 cool cool

To all going to the parade enjoy & be safe. Represent us well!!!

The streak of tears has been broken. And that after fifty-two years, of pain and suffering, Cavilers have brought it home for Cleveland. Way to go!

One other thought I wanted to get out is how proud I am of the way the city acted on Sunday night. Five arrests. Five, and they were all disorderly/public intox. That's amazing considering nobody really knew what would happen.

And you just know certain idiot fans and media types were just waiting to run with stories of fires, car flipping, and violence. There were so many horrible hot takes that were typed up Sunday that never saw the enter button. Seriously, the city and fans handled themselves like a city that has won before. So awesome to see. I wish I could have been there. I always said if a Cleveland team had a chance to win one game for a championship, I'd drive in, but it was just impossible for me. I can't make the parade either, but I will be there in spirit.

I'll be back in February for the Browns parade.

The Cleveland Cavaliers Championship Parade & Rally:

http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/releases/championship-parade-rally-160621

Lots of parking bans and street closings (check link above).

Parade route:

https://clecityhall.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/cavs-parade-and-rally-v2.pdf

There is supposed to be half a million people there. I have IBS. Could you imagine waiting to use a restroom with half a million people there?!? I think I'll stay home and play it safe (sighs).

You are correct. When I woke up the next morning, I fully expected to see exactly what you said: cars flipped over, fires, etc.

Kudos to Cleveland fans for not making the press for being dumb.

How safe do you think the parade would be for a very independent 17 year old son going down with his friends via the Shaker Rapid? He went to the party at the Q for games 3 and 5, and did OK. I'm just nervous for him because of the large expected crowds. I am unabel to attend for work reasons and my husband is not physically able to make the the trip.

I have never been to a championship parade. I've been in Chicago for 12 years, and they've had 4 here in that time (one for the White Sox and 3 for the Blackhawks). They seem very very friendly to anybody.

I just noticed something .... and wonder if anyone else did as well;

Lebron kind of trolled Golden State, coming off the plane back to Cleveland wearing an "Ultimate Warrior" t-shirt. lol I doubt that was by accident.
