If you're talking open carry outside the arena, yeah, it should be allowed. It's a state law that concealed carry is legal in........get this........places where it's not illegal. Outside the arena is public, so ccw permit holders would absolutely be allowed to carry, under state law.

Open carry is also allowed in Ohio. So those people that want to carry that don't have ccw permits would be allowed, as long as the gun is visible.

Now, IN the Q, uh uh, ain't nobody getting in there with a weapon. Not legally, anyway.

If people have cool heads, there won't be any problems. If protesters get violent, there might be some issues.

Prohibited: Things not allowed inside Republican National Convention

The city released a list of items that will not be allowed inside the Republican National Convention "event zone."

The event zone excludes spaces in the secure zone that are accessible to the general public, including streets, sidewalks and public grounds.

The following items are prohibited in the convention:

• Lumber larger than 2 inches in width and one-fourth inches thick, including supports for signs
• Metal, plastic or other hard material larger than three-fourth inches thick and one-eight inches in wall thickness including pipe and tubing
• Any air rifle, air pistol, paintball gun, blasting caps, switchblade or automatic knife, knife having a blade two and one-half (2-1/2) inches in length or longer, cestus, billy, blackjack, sword, saber, hatchet, axe, slingshot, BB gun, pellet gun, wrist shot, blackjack, metal knuckles, nun chucks, mace, iron buckle, axe handle, shovel or other instrumentality used to cause property or personal damage
• Any dangerous ordinance, weapon or firearm that is prohibited by the laws of the State of Ohio
• Any explosives, explosive device or incendiary device
• Fireworks and rockets
• Coolers or ice-chests
• Sound amplification equipment
• Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
• Containers of bodily fluids
• Aerosol cans
• Tennis balls
• Mace, Pepper Spray or other chemical irritant
• Umbrellas with metal tips
• Any projectile launchers, such as water guns and water cannons
• Rope, chain, cable, strapping, wire, string, line, tape or any similar material, in lengths greater than six feet
• Glass bottles, ornaments, light bulbs, ceramic vessels and any other frangible container, regardless of whether the container holds any substance
• Locks including, without limitation, padlocks, bicycle locking devices, chain locks or similar devices, but not including: (i) an integral component of a conveyance or structure; (ii) locks when utilized by the owner of private real property to secure permanent or temporary fencing; or (iii) locks attached to a bicycle
• Any gas mask or similar device designed to filter all air breathed by the wearer in an attempt to protect the respiratory tract and/or face against irritating or noxious gasses or other materials. This prohibition on gas masks shall not apply to any person wearing a medical oxygen mask that fits over the nose and mouth of the person and provides oxygen from an oxygen tank to the person
• Tents and other shelters, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, mattresses, cots, hammocks or stoves
• Backpacks and bags exceeding the size of 18 inches x 13 inches x 7 inches
• Lasers
• Non-plastic containers, bottles, cans or thermoses
• Ladders
• Grappling hooks, sledgehammers, hammers and crowbars
• Canned goods
• Any other item determined by the Chief or Director to be a clear and present danger to the safety of others.

Taking a good long while to obtain from political nonsense. Doubt I'll post much about it on here, either. Coming back down for the summer shows me how awful the political climate is. Maybe it's fear of idiocy happening during the convention, not wanting to be a live spectator to a political dumpster fire, or a desire to remove myself from something that frustrates the ever living daylights out of me. It definitely requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, and Trump is absolutely correct in this much: her actions absolutely should disqualify her from holding a clearance.

ANYONE else and their clearance would have been yanked and they'd have been reassigned to some craphole maintenance job in the middle of nowhere so fast they'd take weeks to figure out what happened.

No, anyone else would have been subject to criminal penalties for negligence at the very least. That person would have been lucky just to lose their clearance and be reassigned somewhere else.

Folsom Naval Reservist is Sentenced After Pleading Guilty to Unauthorized Removal and Retention of Classified Materials

SACRAMENTO, CA—Bryan H. Nishimura, 50, of Folsom, pleaded guilty today to unauthorized removal and retention of classified materials, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Kendall J. Newman immediately sentenced Nishimura to two years of probation, a $7,500 fine, and forfeiture of personal media containing classified materials. Nishimura was further ordered to surrender any currently held security clearance and to never again seek such a clearance.

According to court documents, Nishimura was a Naval reservist deployed in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008. In his role as a Regional Engineer for the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Nishimura had access to classified briefings and digital records that could only be retained and viewed on authorized government computers. Nishimura, however, caused the materials to be downloaded and stored on his personal, unclassified electronic devices and storage media. He carried such classified materials on his unauthorized media when he traveled off-base in Afghanistan and, ultimately, carried those materials back to the United States at the end of his deployment. In the United States, Nishimura continued to maintain the information on unclassified systems in unauthorized locations, and copied the materials onto at least one additional unauthorized and unclassified system.

Nishimura’s actions came to light in early 2012, when he admitted to Naval personnel that he had handled classified materials inappropriately. Nishimura later admitted that, following his statement to Naval personnel, he destroyed a large quantity of classified materials he had maintained in his home. Despite that, when the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched Nishimura’s home in May 2012, agents recovered numerous classified materials in digital and hard copy forms.

The investigation did not reveal evidence that Nishimura intended to distribute classified information to unauthorized personnel.

This case was the product of an investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Jean M. Hobler prosecuted the case.
