anybody paying attention to these Fox News sexual harassment allegations?

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/07/19/fox-news-megyn-kelly-accuses-roger-ailes-of-sexual-harassment-report.html?__source=yahoo%7Cfinance%7Cheadline%7Cheadline%7Cstory&par=yahoo&doc=103799966&yptr=yahoo

apparently, now Megyn Kelly has came forward. it's odd because other anchors on Fox News were blasting the other woman for making the claim. dunno whats going on over there. trying to cover up or nah?

edit: don't know why the link isn't working. here:

Fox News' Megyn Kelly accuses Roger Ailes of sexual harassment: Report

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly told investigators she was sexually harassed by CEO Roger Ailes, the Daily Intelligencer reports, less than two weeks after Gretchen Carlson made similar allegations against him.

Two sources told the New York Magazine publication that Kelly told a team handling an outside investigation into Ailes' behavior that she, too, was the victim of sexual advances from the Fox News executive about a decade ago. The probe is being handled by New York-based law firm Paul, Weiss, Kelly, on behalf of Fox News' parent company 21st Century Fox.

Sources told the Daily Intelligencer that Ailes was told to resign by Aug. 1 or be fired for cause.

Fox News, which has handled Ailes' communications, did not respond to a CNBC request for comment, and 21st Century Fox declined to comment. Kelly's representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

Daily Intelligencer, citing sources, previously reported that 21st Century Fox co-Chairmen Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch and CEO James Murdoch had decide to fire Ailes in light of the allegations. James had allegedly wanted Ailes to be let go this week, while the other Murdochs were leaning toward ousting the executive after the GOP convention.

Kelly, who hosts "The Kelly File," is one of Fox News' best known journalists. She was co-moderator of the first GOP debate in August, during which Donald Trump accused her of being biased. The two sat down for a highly publicized interview on May 17.

She previously hosted "America Live" as well as co-hosted "America's Newsroom" with Bill Hemmer.

Earlier this month, Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes, alleging she was fired from Fox News on June 23 because she refused to have a sexual relationship with Ailes.

I find it interesting how "explosive" this speech has become. Did she steal parts of Mrs. Obamas speech? Certainly appears that way.

But the most interesting thing is, the liberals on this board are going wild about it.........and yet ignore all the stuff Hillary has done: cheating, lying, stealing, etc. And SHE is running for office.

And for the record, breaking news: Milli Vanilli wrote Melania's speech. smile

Literally laughing my butt off right now. You have the nerve to say that, and just above my post you posted about Megyn Kelly and fox news.

Hey man, we're talking about a "republican in a thread about the RNC". Remember?

(And actually, if you wanted to stay on topic, you'd be talking about Brock Mealer.)

I just find it precious that you're trying to school me on staying on topic when you yourself through something that has nothing to do with ANYTHING being discussed on here.

The allegations came up during the RNC.

On a conservative news channel. That's pretty on topic.

Quote:
I think I understand the Trump supporters. White racists who have limited intelligence and have a lot of hate in their hearts and are intolerant of anyone who isn't like them.

I think that you are absolutely wrong. I am absolutely NOT a Trump supporter, but this kind of statement is as offensive as anything anyone could say.

There are a lot of Trump supporters who hate the trade agreements this country has found itself stuck in, and want us to find our way out of them. There are many people who are terrified of losing their jobs because of policies this government under Obama has pursued. (and which Hillary has said she would continue) There are people who are well aware that the Middle Class is shrinking more and more with each passing day, and that the policies of the Democrat Party are at least partially to blame, and they want a change. There are many who are plain sick and tired of politicians promising the moon, and then doing nothing to help the people they made all kinds of promises to, and so are supporting a non-politician. Others want the government run more like a business, because the current model has failed miserably. Some are Christians, who believe that Hillary is simply not going to defend their interests, and that Trump might be willing to do so.

I agree that that are some racists inside the Trump movement. I bet that there are racists inside every movement. However to say that Trump voters are "of limited intelligence, racists, and hateful" is to paint over half of all White men with that brush, and I simply reject that kind of thinking. (and over half of White men support Trump)

I wonder if you would apply those same terms to Democrat voters who support Hillary? She and her husband have definitely pursued policies that hurt Black people more than any other group. (abortion, which is the leading cause of death for Black Americans, the crime bill/mandatory sentencing that Bill Clinton signed, opposition to school choice, and so forth) These could all be seen as racist policies, by many. Are the supporters of Hillary Clinton also uneducated, racists with hate in their hearts, who are intolerant of anyone who isn't like them? (and we have seen the vulgar names Democrats, even Black Democrats, have called Black Republicans)

I dislike both candidates in this election, and it saddens my to think that this is the best we can do. However, to assign racist motives to an entire segment of the population because of what candidate they support, when there are many reasons that do not in any way include racism, is pretty darn hateful as well.

LMAO.......The Trump cover up is in full swing now and said they won't fire anyone. And obviously you haven't compared the speeches. We'll be bringing it up for a few more years. So get used to it.

Well, bring it up all you want. We need a good laugh these days.

The left brought it to the attention here to deflect from the steel dragon candidate in the first place.

This is an even bigger "non story" than Hillary calling soldiers and their families liars and placing this country in jeopardy. Well, maybe.......

This is actually really funny.

rofl With all these failures listed below do you honestly think Trump can do what you seem to dream he can do?

And now his wife is caught in a lie and won't fess up.

Trump Airlines

In 1988, Trump bought Eastern Air Shuttle, an airline service that ran hourly flights between Boston, NYC and DC for 27 years prior, for $365 million. He turned the airline, once a no frills operation, into a luxury experience, adding maple-wood veneer to the floor and gold-colored bathroom fixtures. The company never turned a profit and the high debt forced him to default on his loans. Ownership of the company was turned over to creditors. It ceased to exist in 1992.

Trump Vodka

Trump unveiled his own vodka line in 2006 paired with the characteristic slogan “Success Distilled.” Advertising for the product claimed that the vodka would “demand the same respect and inspire the same awe as the international legacy and brand of Donald Trump himself.” Trump had high hopes for his liquor brand, predicting that the T&T (Trump and Tonic) would become the most ordered drink in the country and stating on Larry King Live that he got into the vodka business to outdo “his friends” at Grey Goose. The company stopped production in 2011, reportedly due to a lack of interest.

Trump Casinos

Trump Entertainment Resorts, which is composed of three Trump-owned casinos, all in Atlantic City, filed for bankruptcy for the fourth time in 2014. Trump has distanced himself from the company, saying that besides the company having his name, he has “nothing to do with it,” despite the fact that he owned 28% of its stock.

Trump: The Game

Trump launched a Monopoly-like board game in 1989, which was discontinued a year later due to lack of interest. He tried his hand at game making once again in 2005, when he launched an updated version tied to The Apprentice. It was also discontinued.

Trump Magazine

Trump launched an eponymous magazine in 2007 that, in a press release announcing the publication’s arrival, was described as “[reflecting] the passions of its affluent readership by tapping into a rich cultural tapestry.” A year and a half after the launch, the magazine ceased publication.

Trump Steaks

Donald Trump was featured on the June 2007 cover of the Sharper Image catalogue hunched over a platter of meat to kick off his line of premium steaks that he dubbed the “world’s greatest.” The company has since been discontinued—maybe it had something to do with the Trump Steakhouse in Las Vegas being closed down in 2012 for 51 health code violations, including serving five-month old duck.

GoTrump.com

Trump launched this luxury travel search engine in 2006, only to shut it down a year later, despite being powered by booking giant Travelocity.

Trump University

In 2005, Trump opened the non-accredited, for-profit Trump University. In 2010, four students sued the university for “offering classes that amounted to extended ‘infomercials.’” Following the suit, the “university” changed its name to “The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative,” before ending operations one year later. In 2013, the New York Attorney General sued Trump and the “university” for $40 million for allegedly defrauding students.

Trump Mortgage

In 2006, Trump forayed further into the real estate industry, launching a mortgage company. The Donald had high hopes for the company, asking CNBC, “Who knows more about financing than me?” Trump Mortgage shut down within a year and a half, in part because Trump selected E.J. Ridings, a man who claimed to be a top executive at a prestigious investment bank but had actually only worked on Wall Street as a registered broker for six days, to run the company.

His two Successes has been.

Grand Hyatt Hotel

Trump bought the former Commodore Hotel, which had fallen into relative disrepair, from Penn Central Railroad in 1974 and after six years of construction, the Grand Hyatt Hotel debuted. Smack dab in the heart of New York City, with the image of Grand Central reflected off its glass façade, the 34-story hotel is still booming business today.

Trump Tower

Trump broke ground on his now-famous 48-story Trump Tower in 1980. The luxury high-rise opened in 1983 and, with upscale restaurants and stores located in the mostly residential building, is still highly sought after real estate.

Obama Care just needs repealed!!! Just like all socialism government programs from the democrats. We are a capitalistic country where each man gets what he deserves in life.

You do not like Trumps or the Republican ideas because it sounds like you wait like most democrats with your hands out.

I have many family members in the military and yes they will tell you without hesitation that they do not have the resources they had just 8 years ago.

i find that hard to believe, as far as your military comment.

we have the best equipment from any military. it's not close. lower level grunts, IE enlisted(i was enlisted) we always complain about our equipment.

it's still 10 years ahead of anybody else, though.

so i want hand outs? link?

as far as all socialist programs, then i guess you're cool with getting rid of:

military (i went over this before a few months ago)
police (lol, wouldn't mind so much)
firefighters (really?)
Medicare
Medicaid
Social Security
healthcare (via emergency room, for people who can't pay)
public libraries
public schools (those entitled like 10 year olds. get a job like every one else!!!!)
government college grants, scholarships, and loans
roads (except toll roads)
the FDA
the EPA

am i missing any other socialist programs? oh yea:

the post office
museums (the dinosaurs are entitled!!!!)
corporate subsidies( please)
the VA
public parks (tell Yellowstone to get a damn job!!!)
pretty much any elected official (so that means get rid of Trump. I'm down)
the GI Bill
state/city zoo's (Tigers gotta earn their keep like red blooded americans!!!)
state construction
public defenders
amtrak
NPR

Should i keep going?

now, to be fair, some of these aren't full out socialist programs, but most/all are socialist aspects or full blown socialist programs.

especially Social Security, which your republican ideology fights so hard to protect.

but i get it. down with socialist programs!!!

a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

_____

seems to anybody with a brain that the list i just dropped fits...well most/all of it.

We're not going to be able to just slash all those programs at once. We could certainly eliminate some of the bureaucracy and outright wastefulness right off the bat and either reduce taxes or at least figure out a way to spend the money more effectively. The welfare state is a bloated mess. Look at the numbers. $2.3 trillion a year!

As for the socialism comment a little bit up the page, the reality is that capitalism, socialism, etc. in practice are not distinct entities. Think of it more like a sliding scale. As a general rule, all else being equal, a market economy will greatly outperform a planned economy (of course, things are not always equal e.g. human resources, natural resources, etc.)

I don't think this requires much explanation. Germany actually gives some pretty good insight though as West Germany was far more advanced and productive than East Germany after the fall of the Soviet Union. Read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_the_German_reunification

holy crap. whats weird is that it's a republican versus republican thing.

Trump supporter tells Utah delegate: ‘You should die!’

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-supporter-tells-utah-delegate-you-should-die-172211021.html

CLEVELAND — Utah delegate Kera Birkeland went to the bathroom during the GOP convention proceedings Monday afternoon, as Donald Trump’s campaign sought to beat back a challenge on the floor.

When she opened the door of her bathroom stall, two women were standing in front of the door. She did not know them. Whether they knew who she was or just happened to see her tag identifying her as from Utah, she says that they immediately began to berate her.

Utah was one of 11 states supporting a motion on the floor to have a roll call vote of each state to approve or reject the convention’s rules package. These states trying to force the roll call vote wanted to send a few different messages. Some were anti-Trump. Some were angry about rules they felt diluted the influence of grassroots voters.

The two women standing in front of Birkeland were Trump supporters, however, and support for the roll call vote was generally interpreted by Trump supporters as anti-Trump.

Birkeland recounted her confrontation with the two women to Yahoo News on Tuesday morning. She said that initial reports that they had threatened to kill her were inaccurate. She did not want to exaggerate the incident.

And yet, according to her account, the women did use remarkably threatening language.

“You should die!” one of the women told Birkeland. Birkeland said she was looking down, trying to ignore the women, as she went to the sink to wash her hands, so she is not sure who said what. But they continued to yell at her the entire time she was in the bathroom.

One of them said the Utah delegation should lose any police protection they have. “You should all die!” the Trump supporter said.

Birkeland left the bathroom in tears but did not file a police report afterward. “Once the shock wore off, and I could think straight, I chalked it up to high tensions on the floor and wanted to move on. I was fine,” she said.

“I didn’t feel like they meant they were going to hurt me, just that they were upset,” Birkeland said. “It shook me and concerned me, not that they were going to hurt me but that there was that much anger and animosity.”

Birkeland said she and her husband have served as foster parents for several years. “We’ve taken in a lot of troubled youth,” she said. “I get that people upset and they go a little crazy. But even our most angry foster child never said, ‘You should die.’ ”

The incident continues a growing pattern of threatening behavior and even violence among supporters and opponents of Trump. Trump supporters have pushed, shoved and punched protesters at rallies. And anti-Trump protesters outside rallies have attacked Trump supporters.

Trump himself has repeatedly seemed to condone or encourage physical violence. At one rally in St. Louis, he referred to the level of disruption that some protesters were causing at his rallies and said from the stage, “Part of the problem and part of the reason it takes so long is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore.”

Yeah, she's definitely losing that fight. But honestly most first ladies do more harm than good. Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton both killed this countries poor with their ideas.

Honestly, if we want kids to stop being fat, we should create active lifestyles for them during and after school. Most kids sit at their desk all day and then go home to be with their parents and sit inside all night. Physical activity is crucial to a developing brain. Until congress and states realize that they cannot have their kids sit at a desk for 8+ hours then nothing will change. Promote activity in school. Eliminate homework. Increase extracurriculars. Real change. Michelle's movement only makes me feel guilty for looking at the calories of what I'm about to eat on a menu.

All those programs you listed.......thanks. Now I can see where my money goes - to others. Thanks.

Sometimes I think I'd prefer to let the gov't. take care of me. It would be much simpler.

which country is that?

the highest as of 2015 is 57% in sweden

http://ceoworld.biz/2015/10/20/top-25-co...-the-world-2015

yet matching up that with Haus's post, they still manage to be one of the wealthiest countries.

and have a host of things that benefit them with their tax rate.

so you're off...by bout, what, 33%?
