Yes, I'm using the angry sign for all my posts now, but this makes me so very, very angry. I guess if you don't eat in jail you can get out and be under house arrest...even then, look at that body, she doesn't eat much anyway! (Yes, I'm a full blooded male who loves women, but I think she's a disgrace) http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/06/07/paris.hilton/index.html Paris Hilton out of jail POSTED: 1433 GMT (2233 HKT), June 7, 2007 Story Highlights • Paris Hilton is out of jail • Hilton will wear ankle bracelet, under house arrest • "Celebutante" was convicted of violating probation Adjust font size: Decrease fontDecrease font Enlarge fontEnlarge font LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Paris Hilton was let out of jail Thursday morning, just three days after she began serving what was originally to have been a 45-day sentence for violating probation, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said at a press conference. Hilton must wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at her home for another 40 days, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore. Medical considerations "played a part" in the decision to offer Hilton home confinement for the remainder of her sentence, Whitmore said. He said privacy rules prohibited him from giving details about the medical issues, but celebrity Web site TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying Hilton was refusing to eat much of the jail food served her. Whitmore said that after "extensive consultation with medical personnel" it was decided to offer Hilton "reassignment" to home confinement, which she and her lawyers accepted. (Watch Hilton enter jail Video) Part of the deal was that her original sentence of 45 days, which had been reduced to 23 days if she showed good behavior behind bars, would be restored to the full length. Although she reported to the jail just before midnight Sunday and departed in the early hours of Thursday, she has been given credit for a five days, he said. Whitmore said the decision to send Hilton home was made by a panel of officials in the sheriff's department, although the judge who sentenced her was advised of it.

If I may quote Kent Brockman:

I agree.
But it is still a crock.

People who have done much worse get house arrest.
Not really a surprise, or a big deal.

Trying to figure out why you are so surprised and angry . Outside of Ms. Hilton who really gives a rat's ass about this preferential treatment given to the rich and famous ? You'd be better off applying that anger towards something that really matters.

Did anyone actually believe she would spend more than a few days in jail, come on, it was all for show to begin with.

This is lame. The fact that it's a story is lame, and that it happens is lame.
I think its lame that people can do this because theyre famous. ugh

Not surprised at all. Surprised she actually even served as little as she did.
Anyway, with Paris leaving prison and going to house arrest, SHE now foots the bill for her incarceration (cost of the bracelet and whatever it takes to run/monitor it). In jail, the residents of LA County footed her bill.
I'm all for house arrest for non-violent offenders. Free up some jail space (for the violent criminals), let them (the non-violent) foot the bill. (exceptions to that...repeat offenders, you know like the idiot with 12 DUI's)

Great how the justice system works for the wealthy eh?
You have the dough - you don't do the time.
Makes me wish I had a few million laying around.... then I too could afford a "Get Out of Jail Free Card".

And, by the way, I am NO fan of Paris Hilton to wish she was out jail. I actually couldn't really care less about her or her life.

Before she was even sentenced their was an article i read that said she probably wouldn't serve all of her time because of over-crowding in the jail it was suspected she would be sent to. I'm glad that since she was allowed to serve her time at home that they changed it to her having to serve the full 45 days.

This not about Hilton ; It is about the sham of a justice system we have . I just can't figure out why the American people just back and continue to let crap like this go on & on & on .. Then you wonder why the inside beltway boys ( and girls ) do what they want regardless of the American opinion ?????????????????

The whole not eating thing ,normally wouldn't mean anything unless you were bones and could barley walk. And then they send ya to the mental lady/guy and they put ya on the snitch floor in solitary. and have someone make sure you eat .
And with the house arrest its normally around 250-400 $$ a month up here so in Cali im guessing its about a $$1000.00
Poor Paris, Wonder what she would have came out like if she had 2 do the whole stretch ?

Maybe.
If I was in power, and I noticed that everyone was caught up in what this idiot is doing, or what other idiots are doing (Rosie, Trump, American Idol, everything else that the public swallows with glee)...I'd probably figure I could do as I pleased and not many would notice so long as I spoke positively and looked good on TV.

Considering she's on probation for a substance abuse problem DUI ,most the time there is random drug screens so either she has been lucky and not got caught yet but my guess is she is just a spoiled little rich girl who was not going to lower herself to eat that horrible food and just paid her way out..

Well looks like she's going back.. Quote:
Paris Hilton's release from jail may be short lived. Hours after she was sent home under house arrest Thursday for an undisclosed medical condition, the judge who put her in jail for violating her reckless-driving probation ordered her into court to decide if she should go back behind bars.
Hilton must report to court at 9 a.m. Friday, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press.
"My understanding is she will be brought in in a sheriff's vehicle from her home," Parachini said.
The celebrity inmate was sent home from the Los Angeles County jail's Lynwood lockup shortly after 2 a.m. in a stunning reduction to her original 45-day sentence. She had reported to jail Sunday night after attending the MTV Movie Awards in a strapless designer dress.
She was ordered to finish her sentence under house arrest, meaning she could not leave her four-bedroom, three-bath home in the Hollywood Hills until next month.
City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo complained that he learned of her release the same way as almost everyone else

The circle is now complete, Al Sharpton decides to butt in: Quote:
African-American social activist Reverend Al Sharpton also blasted the release.
'This early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favouritism,' he said. 'There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions (who) are not released.'

Race has nothing to do with it. The fact that she is filthy rich probably does. I gotta say it did surprise me that she only served 3 days. Hopefully the judge puts her back where she belongs.

Can this guy EVER mind his own business? Sheesh. I'm so sick of hearing his race card BS that I could scream.
About Paris...quite frankly, I couldn't care less what happens in her dramatic little life, but I do find it amusing that she has to go back.
