maybe, but there are tons of factors that go into that.
i'm not gonna chalk it up to people being morons

no, i'm reading it strictly how i see it. i don't need to interpret anything.
since 2010, the birther movement nonsense i believe was that year, your numbers are declining.
it'll be interesting to see if they drop another 2-3 percent over the next few years.
also, the liberal number is rising. the gap is closing. but lemme guess, you're gonna argue against that too, right?

Erik is the smart one. everybody else who isn't Erik is morons. I'm truly happy to see you finally recognize a true fact, although you should have written, "everybody else who isn't Erik is a moron. I'm not saying I believe that fully myself, but I do know that if everyone else lived my way, we'd all be a lot happier.

Because it should have been left to the states due to the Constitution. By the way, I love have you apparently can see my emotions through the internet. I really don't care if homosexuals get married. I don't think the federal government or really any government should have any say in marriage in the first place. Marriage is a contract between people, not people as approved by a government. That's why you have witnesses.

Marriage is a contract between people, not people as approved by a government. That's why you have witnesses. its also a contract between people, not specifically religious. you keep leaving that fun little part out. which is why i viewed the marriage thing as a civil rights issue, not a states rights issue. but i forgot, you also thought segregation and such should've been left up to the states. (your words, not mine) we're not gonna agree at all on this. like pretty much anything else.

Yes, and by hillary clinton. That is one of the reasons I always knew it would come to nothing. If the clintons couldn't burn obummer to the ground with the birther movement before the election, then there was nothing substantial to be used by anyone else.

regardless on elections, societal divide was helped along by this nonsense.

Rock band Third Eye Blind taunts Republicans at concert during RNC https://www.yahoo.com/news/rock-band-thi...-080721945.htmlWESTLAKE, Ohio — The rock band Third Eye Blind frustrated some guests at a charity concert held during the Republican National Convention on Tuesday. According to multiple accounts posted by attendees on social media, the band played some of its more obscure songs and mocked socially conservative positions during its set at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. In tweets posted on the official Third Eye Blind account, the band indicated it was pleased the show upset some in the audience. “I have never been more disappointed,” wrote a Twitter user named Liza White. “good,” replied the band. One Twitter video showed the band’s lead singer, Stephan Jenkins, speaking out in favor of gay rights before the beginning of a song. Another clip showed Jenkins being jeered. “You can boo all you want, but I’m the motherf***ing artist up here,” he replied. According to Snapchat’s head of news, Peter Hamby, at one point in the show, Jenkins asked, “Who here believes in science?” “So much booing,” Hamby wrote. Multiple Twitter users particularly objected to the fact that the band didn’t play its 1997 hit “Semi-Charmed Life.” The invitation-only concert was produced and sponsored by the Recording Industry Association of America, which lobbies for the record industry. Spokespeople for the RIAA did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Yahoo News. The concert was billed as a charity benefit for Musicians On Call, “a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in health care facilities.” In the immediate aftermath of the show, some conservatives took to Twitter to argue Third Eye Blind shouldn’t have used a charity event to make a statement. The band’s official Twitter account told Yahoo News that it wasn’t especially concerned about having a negative impact on the charity. “We were not, as musicians on call were well aware of who we are and our take on things (like science and rights!),” the band wrote. I found it kind of ironic and funny that the GOP supporters, who often talk about society being too PC, were offended by them/their views.

yes. same reason why there is a liberal president.
who got voted in twice over a conservative. Obama is yet to beat a conservative, he's never run against one. He beat two Republicans though.

And if Hillary beats Trump, she will have still not have beaten a conservative. I think that says more about the Republican party than it does any of the candidates.

yes, because my post about conservatives losing ground is rooted in fact. In addition to what Erik posted, did you know there are currently 31 republican governors and 18 democrat governors? look it up. the number of conservatives are declining in this country. Only for the presidency.. because the President has the biggest platform and the biggest hammer to promise the whiny masses all kinds of free stuff.. which folks in the country seem to be growing to like more and more. i posted the article and said "no wonder conservatives seem to lose more support..."
because guess what? there's a list of things in there that i do NOT agree with. Wow, a black inner city guy doesn't like the republican platform and this is some how indicative of a trend? surprise surprise, i don't have to agree with you on ANYTHING.
hell, we don't agree on much to begin with. and thats becoming more and more apparent. We actually agree on a reasonable amount of stuff.... your posting style just gets overly dramatic and it gets hard to take.... like the rock band that mocks conservatives... OH NO!!!! what next? Maybe late night talk show hosts will start blasting conservatives.. It's not news, it's not interesting, file it under "captain obvious was looking for a reaction"... as far as the rest of your post about talking "intelligently", i'll take that as an insult. You can take it how ever you want.. it was intended to mean that you were judging a 60 page document based on a 10 paragraph yahoo news article about it rather than reading it for yourself. I have not read it yet so I can not talk intelligently about it yet either... so here's the deal. ill start talking intelligently when you stop acting like a PC butt hurt poster after every article i post. Why? That is exactly the response you want from many of the articles you post. They aren't posted to generate conversation, they are posted to create conflict.. and you know EXACTLY who is going to respond to them and how.. .and then you complain and act like you are being ganged up on when the response you knew was coming, actually comes. You want a legit response, post the republican platform and tell me what you don't like about it... posting yahoo news blahblahblah gay marriage, blahblahblah abortion... and you will continue to get a blahblahblah this is partisan BS response...

i didn't post it to create conflict.
but you wanted conflict. so you took it to mean however you wanted it to mean.
so now its all kinds of free stuff?
ok. and we don't agree on much at all.

Just heard that Westboro Church and a communist revolution flag burning group got into a tussle and some arrests were made. My bet is that they both support Trump.

According to the graph, from 1992 36% identified as conservative and that number has stayed between 36 and 40% ever since, fluctuating up and down, currently residing at 37%.... moderates have gone down, liberals have gone up.. so more moderates seem willing to self-identify as liberal.. I believe there are a wide variety of reasons why this is happening..

yes, and i'm trying to figure those reasons out right now.
i posted an article earlier about why there's an overall lack of participation from...well kinda everybody, but liberals specifically when it comes to mid terms and such.
one of the problems with trying to narrow this down is that "self-identify" doesn't mean much sometimes.
That Jenner dude(chick?) self identifies as conservative, even though traditionally any LBGT peeps are liberals.
same with conservatives who aren't gonna touch trump with a ten foot pole, swallowing their pride and going with Clinton.
So it's fairly obvious why there are more and more independents, however, the rise in self identifying liberals and the relative drop/sustainment of conservatives is interesting.

Westboro Bapist Church Protester: Donald Trump is Too ‘Fringe’ by Alex Griswold | 8:50 am, March 7th, 2016 OK THEN! 197 Lee Ann Phelps, the daughter-in-law of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps, was protesting outside of the Wichita caucus site when she was approached by the Caller’s Chuck Ross. When asked her thoughts about Trump, the woman known for holding up signs reading “God Hates Fags” responded that he was too far out of the mainstream. “He’s sort of fringe,” she told Ross, while standing next to her child and his “America is Doomed” sign. She continued to say that she didn’t consider Trump “fringe” on gay issues, but declined to elaborate which issues she was concerned about. Phelps, a registered Democrat, said she couldn’t rule out voting for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Link

You would lose. http://www.mediaite.com/election-2016/westboro-bapist-church-protester-donald-trump-is-too-fringe/I wonder if the flag burning group was the Indonesian group that is protesting a Communist party comeback in their home country?

it's funny how you just finished ripping my post about the band, and then turn around and post some stuff about westboro baptist church.
anyways, this lady sounds all kinds of confused.
a church organization, who even other church goers consider far too crazy, think's trump is too far away from the mainstream?
When did the Twilight Zone start airing new episodes?

I don't agree with that. I'm all for free speech normally but even I recognize there are limits. Inciting chaos or violence in the political process crosses the line. Hillary should have been indicted though; there's little doubt about that. http://time.com/4415120/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-shot/Al Baldasaro thinks Hillary Clinton should be punished for her handling of Benghazi
A Donald Trump advisor said Hillary Clinton should be put in a firing line and shot for treason.
Al Baldasaro, a New Hampshire state representative and an advisor to Trump on veteran’s issues, made the comments on the Jeff Kuhner Show on Tuesday.
“I’m a veteran that went to Desert Shield, Desert Storm. I’m also a father who sent a son to war, to Iraq, as a Marine Corps helicopter avionics technician. Hillary Clinton to me is the Jane Fonda of the Vietnam,” Baldasaro said. “She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi. She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. Something’s wrong there.”
“This whole thing disgusts me, Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” he added.
Baldasaro is a Trump delegate to the Republican National Convention and appeared with Trump at press conference where he defended Trump’s donations to veterans groups in May.
Buzzfeed News reports that Baldasro stands by his comments.

That's reasonable.
Are you going back down there? It looks like things have been heating up a little today.. I just saw something about protesters burning the flag and clashing with the police but I really haven't been following it that closely.

I went down there today after class. Honestly......it's been waaaayyyy more chill than anybody expected.
Almost...dare I say...boring? There's a few issues but man.... We all pretty much expected some old school riot type stuff.
So I'm happy a couple brushes with some religious nut cases is really all we have to complain about.
What's actually more interesting is the individuals and their signs. They got this guy acting like a dog dressed like trump. you can kick him for free. Saw some republicans with cowboy hats do it.

yea i'm happy about that as well.
and thankfully i guess, the juicy stuff has been happening inside the Q. im still pissed that for whatever reason, the RNC yanked the tickets from the VA. the VSO said they were suppose to get like 50 passes.
it would've been awesome to go inside, simply because i never experienced anything like that before. would've been a cool story to tell. all well, maybe next time.
i know it wasn't open to the public anyway...but sucks none the less.

And that isn't proof that it will change. He's quickly gaining a following, and the democrats are importing in people that want homosexuals dead. His message will get through soon enough.
