that doesn't sound like somebody who is credible.
i expect way more from a teacher. the guy goes around and doesn't even practices what he preaches.
Well I don't remember him saying anything like that. I'm sure that something was said remotely along those lines, but I would have to see the wording and context for myself. No offense, but I have seen the way a few members on this board have manipulated things that I have posted into things that I never said or even implied. If you could provide a link and some background, that would be helpful. It's cool if gang members shoot people, sell drugs to kids, rape little girls, etc.............but damn man........the cops are evil and out to get the black community. Who was it, Rocket who just went off on somebody for not understanding satire? See when I read Vers's post there, I do not immediately think that he thinks anybody is justifying that kind of behavior. I think that he is frustrated that groups (perhaps BLM?) does not equally hold accountable various groups. For example, BLM does not say anything about the fact that per capita, blacks murder at ten times the rate of non-hispanic whites. You don't hear anything from them about the ~100 per day black on white rapes, despite the fact that the inverse is practically non-existent. You don't hear them talking about gangs shooting up and terrorizing their own neighborhoods. Like I have said all along. Equal. standards. for. everybody. I swear to you and all that is holy that I wrote the above before searching for anybody's posts. And yet, sure enough, it was in response to Day of the Dawg's post about Black Lives Matter. Gotcha. I sure hope that not everybody in the black community supports BLM because that is probably the worst hate group in the country right now. I've already linked plenty of videos of them that you don't like (putting it mildly here). I've already linked to their leaders openly calling for violence against whites and police officers on social media. Yet, I have not seen those same high level leaders condemn gang violence, murder, or rape in the way that you are suggesting. It's possible that I have missed it and because of that, I will continue to keep an open mind and my eyes open. I'm telling you though man, it is tough to do so. I'm trying over here.

Do people really choose to ignore it.. or does it largely go unreported and undiscussed by those who seek to divide us? A black guy bashing cops is far more interesting in the news than a black guy commenting on his own community. Far more clicks for that. You see things posted on here all the time, you do it, I've done it, many people do it.. a famous black person comes out rips the black community and the white folks will post it and say, "See, he agrees with me." A republican will rip the GOP, and a liberal will post it and say, "See, he agrees with me." I don't want to see blacks killing cops or cops killing blacks or blacks killing each other... I don't think anybody does... but we usually only discuss that which is reported.

Do people really think that Putin had no part in leaking these emails? Since the breach in June everyone has been saying it was the Russians. Even the metadata of the leaked documents are in Russian. I just wished they hacked it around the debate that never happened. Could you imagine reading the slander that happened then? There's a reason I'll never be a democrat. There's a reason Bernie always ran as an independent. It's because the Democrats are snakes. And so is Russia for doing this. How are we going to address this? Is a Hillary email hack going to be another real talking point during the debates? Obama just can't let his girl get owned like this and his party. Putin almost certainly did not have any part in leaking these emails. The hacker was someone who goes by the name of Guccifer 2.0 (Google him), not to be confused with the original Guccifer who is in U.S. custody. Guccifer 2 is on record as saying he is Romanian and has nothing to do with Russia. Of course, this these facts are not exactly easy to verify as we don't know his true identity. It's the same article (literally almost word for word) written by two publications that are owned by the same person and company. He can talk about all the evidence there is but the reality is that he doesn't have a clue. It's just amateur talk about proxies and such. FWIW, the original Guccifer was, undoubtedly, Romanian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GucciferRealize this. While Hillary's private server was unsecured, meaning that pretty much anybody with a clue could have hacked it and gained access to her emails, the DNC server was secured. Read Guccifer 2's explanation on how he hacked it. He is very skilled at what he does, easily skilled enough to manipulate the metadata of the files that he personally leaked. If he were to get caught, he would literally be killed or sent to prison for a very long time, so he has great incentive to obfuscate his identity and origin as much as possible.

I will refer back to the thread I started the other day where I said this: "I was just thinking about a couple conversations I've had on here recently with Vers and Swish. We all agree that sometimes these conversations get heated and that can be divisive and counterproductive. It is an easy trap to fall into." I really mean that. I bring a positive attitude every time I come on here and I really do my best to try to see positives and other people's point of view and yet, it's still easy to go off on a tangent and point out other people's flaws. Since I do it, I won't begrudge you or Vers from doing the same thing occasionally as well. It is easy to get frustrated at what is going on in the world. It's like, we all agree that is true, but many of us can't agree on why specifically it is true. That actually makes it even more frustrating

Romania is a country in eastern Europe that is part of the European Union. I don't automatically assume that Guccifer 2.0 is Russian. In fact, when I first heard that theory I was laughing at how ridiculous that sounded. Then I started to look into the facts and it's clear that he's a front for Russia's hacking groups. I'm not sure why Russia spying on our internal politics is so far fetched considering China is literally hacking every Fortune 500 company and stealing trade secrets.

I personally am not that skilled, but I am skilled enough that I could get myself into some trouble if I were inclined to. You have to realize that American intelligence services have by far the most resources available to them to catch hackers and such. Anything you personally do online can be easily tracked. Even a beginner hacker or forum administrator could track you by your usernames, computing device, passwords, IP address, internet service provider, browser settings, etc. There are hundreds of other devious methods, from trojans to hijacking your webcam. All widely known stuff. If American intelligence services cannot catch this guy, then private security firms are left in the dust. He is the one who uploaded files to his wordpress site. He is the one who gave other files to wikileaks. I do not have the files myself, and I would not be qualified to analyze them anyway, but it seems rather obvious to me that he would not be so careless as to allow the files themselves to give away his identity. I think it is more likely he would intentionally manipulate that data to cover his tracks. It could be that he is Russian or acting on their behalf. The thing about it is that I don't know, you don't know, and neither does Defenseone. But hacking into a computer or a server does not require a massive specialized team with state backing. It realistically could have just been a lone wolf hacker with something to prove, and probably was. See how Hillary Clinton handled her private email server to see how outrageously incompetent even high level people can be.

What? The Federal Government only just began their investigation into the hack. Actually most private tech security companies are pretty competent at their jobs. They can track the origins rather well, because it's not hard for them. What is hard for them is to do prosecute the hackers.
I'm not sure why he would try to hide his identity by editing Russian metadata into it because A) it'd be much more confusing if it was blank metadata and B) the fact that he says he hates being associated with Russia by the media.
It realistically could be Russian sponsored hackers.

Another thing to think about: What does Hillary Clinton and the DNC get out of blaming Russia for these hacks? What is her agenda?
Or the flip side to this, if Russia is indeed behind the hacks, why would Russia side with Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton? Is it because of some fringe theory that they bankrolled Trump, or are they genuinely concerned about Hillary's hawkish tendencies? Something else maybe?
Here's what I know: there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

If Hillary is to become our next President and still accuses Russia of this, she now has an international incident to deal with. A major headache and nothing good can come of it.
Maybe Russia just wants us to burn? Do they need a clear cut agenda or is sowing civil disruption enough?
