Patrick Skov>Malcom Johnson Not arguing this, but that's a pretty low yardstick. We have been so bad w FBs lately I would just as soon bag the whole idea. Johnson, Merecic, I forget who else. Almost rather have Bowe on the roster than Johnson, and I think Bowe was a complete waste of a roster spot.
How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

j/c...
Now we have two back up Centers, Gephart and Matthews. Hopefully better options than Seymore and the other guy when Mack went down in 2014! I'm sure Matthews will be a fan favorite - he of course is one of mine and I hope he makes the team.
RBs we got Crowell, Duke and Watson. We should be good.
Malcolm...I think will be replace by Princeton!
Most of these 11 UDFA will need to win a job on ST to make our Roster.
I could be wrong but Ricardo Louis loves to gun on ST??? I know I read something like that on someone and for some reason his name popped in my head...what are the odds I got it right...lol
25 rookies in our camp I don't think more than 15 max make the team. That could be 15 cuts from last years roster...I know we already made a few. Bowe, Solomon, Starks, TE D???, Dansby, Bademosi & Whittner The 4 we lost in FA, Manziel...I'm sure I'm missing someone.
Pretty sure we will cut Shaw n Davis QBs.

We have already lost the following players from last year's team.
Manziel Mack Schwartz Benjamin Bademosi Robertson Dansby Whitner Solomon Gipson Armonty Bryany (suspended) Dray Starks Bowe
That's 14 players from last year's team who are gone already.
I think that we will see a full 50% (26-27 total) player turnover rate from last year to this year. That would be a turnover of another 12-13 players from those who are currently left on the roster from last year.
I can see those cuts coming from the following players:
QB: McCown or Davis FB: Johnson RB: Mosert or Winston TE: Bibbs or Telfer OL: Bowie, Greco, (age) Gerhart, or Miller CB: Tramon Williams, Desir, Gaines, Jones, Poyer DL: Cooper, Meder, Wynn LB: Carder, Kruger, Mingo
That's 22 players whose jobs could be in danger of being cut, in addition to the 13-14 from last year's team who are already gone. I think that it's easier to look at which players are safe from last year's team, as opposed to which are in jeopardy.

I'm surprised to not see Gilbert on this list, do you think he's secure or did you forget he is still on the roster?

We do and right now I think he has a good chance at stiking on the 53. We don't have 15 bodies there as we did last year.

Efre Ikpre Olumu , the potential player, is gone.
I'm pulling for Randall Telfer! ( Is Randall Telfour going to get an opportunity to show he's an unstoppable force on two wheels.) ..
If Clay Mathews, (I'm calling him Clay) can have one good block in the run game. ...

I'm mildly curious to see if he finally shows up. He obviously displayed something in college to be rated a first round prospect. Maybe the change in coaching staff/styles can get through, or maybe the realization that his dream is about to come to a crashing end. It would be nice to get something out of that investment.

I think that Telfer could surprise some folks this season, he was rated as one of the best blocking TE's in last years draft, ... But taking a line from Sashi Brown ... You don't want to sleep on him as a receiver. He and Kessler played together too.

From your list at a glance just a couple that I'm pretty sure will not be cut...of course you never know. Remember these cuts will probably be for UDFA...as we have 14 from our Roster last year already gone - we picked up some 2nd tier talent and one possible star in RG3. I am sure there will be some from that list gone.
Davis and Shaw both probably gone. I think Telfer will stay Bibbs will all be if we keep 3 or 4 TEs. Greco...no way he is a starter and he is not expensive at all. AGE...for OL has a different level of expectations.
We didn't add much in DBs, the kid from Miami recently and one from the draft (late). I can see DeSir not making it...then again he practices real good.
Carder I can definitely see gone. Wynn is a guy we cut last year and then signed him again??? Was surprised Gilbert was not on that list.

Wynn is the UDFA Practice Squad DL we signed and cut a couple of times last year.
I forgot Gilbert. It really wasn't that hard to do, unfortunately.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/05/09/may-12-could-dust-off-free-agent-market/May 12 could dust off free-agent market Posted by Mike Florio on May 9, 2016, 12:57 PM EDT <> on August 27, 2011 in New York City. Getty Images Free agency opened two months ago today. In three days, the market could get a kick in the butt. Even if the shelves are largely empty. May 12 is the date on which free-agent signings don’t count toward the determination of compensatory draft picks. For a team that signs a free agent after May 12, it doesn’t reduce its potential haul of compensatory picks. For a team that loses a free agent after May 12, the move doesn’t increase its compensatory selections. The formula never applies to players who were released, like former Texans running back Arian Foster. But for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and defensive end Greg Hardy, for example, signing either or both as of May 12 means that there will be no impact on their news team’s (or teams’) compensatory selections in 2017. And, in turn, there will be no bump for the Jets and/or the Cowboys. Appearing earlier in the day on PFT Live, Lions G.M. Bob Quinn predicted that there could indeed be some activity later this week — but he added that he doesn’t anticipate the Lions making any moves. Either way, check back on Thursday to see if anything happens. We hope you’ll check back repeatedly before then. Because we’d prefer not to become free agents the Arian Foster way.

I think Coons will be reached by the UDFA - a kicker who can't hit from 50-plus isn't good enough these days.

The Aussie from Maryland who won All-American honors and Big 10 honors? And I kind of agree with your sentiment about not being able to hit from 50.. but give me a guy who is money from 45 and in and has a chance from 50 than a boomer who can make it from 55 but regularly misses from 40..

Yeah the Aussie is an UDFA. Booming kickers who aren't reliable obviously don't work either, I agree, but in 2016, an NFL kicker can't struggle with distance on 50 yarders.

He was 4-8 in college from beyond 50 yards with a long of 57... I just wonder how good he could have been if he had played for a team where the offense got the ball across midfield more than 3 times a game. He could have had much better stats if he played with a better offense. And for the record, a couple years ago, I said he same thing about Stephon Diggs. I told the board that somebody was going to get a very good WR who wasn't getting a lot of recognition because he played with HORRIBLE QBs his entire career...

Walter Thurmond? Jaiquan Jarrett? Bryce Brown? Billy Winn? Thurmond's going to retire and has already turned down big offers. Jarrett is a possibility if he is healthy. Brown I hadn't thought about, but yeah he could have a shot. Billy might not want to come back, but Horton might persuade him.

So this is the guy he replaces. More than a few were complaing about what youg talent would get cut because of Gordon. After this, all have equal opportunity to make the team. If Gordon doesn't get cut before he serves his 4 games, he isn't getting cut on the way out of the suspension. It is probably going to be a receiver, but maybe not, so every bubble type guy on the roster heading in to week 5 had best done something to be sure somebody else is cut. Brady and Josh come back the same week.....I see Josh going large. He is thet type of guy....he wants the limelight. All eyes will be on Cleveland for that game. We probably get the #1 TV crew and a mostly national view. Not sure if a game that early can be flexed to a 4PM kick, or maybe even a 8PM kick....I'd be OK with a 4PM kick, but screw a 8PM Sunday or flex to Monday Night.

Gordon was put on the PUP squad cause of a leg injury during his own workouts before being reinstated.
At least a couple of weeks, he gets to go to meetings but not able to practice...I guess he will be one of those guys on the bikes!

Administrative roster move. He isn't hurt. Allows us to monitor him and keep a extra player around while Josh is on a list.

reluctantly taking this as a positive sign that he was at least working out. still not holding my breath that the light has come on for him that he knows how to conduct himself like a man. crossing fingers though.
