Currently we have the worst major party candidates running for president in any of our lifetimes. The only real reason we have to vote for either of these clowns is because we believe they "aren't as bad" as their opponent. Neither can stand as a viable candidate on their own merit. Both have more blemishes than a six week old banana you bought at Kroger.

Voting for either of these clowns only goes to enforce the belief that "You deserve what you get". Both sides of the proverbial political aisle are simply trying to polish the turd representing the party they support. Both parties are heavily divided because of the candidates their party has endorsed. It's a political crap storm.

For people to sit on this board trying to uphold either of these candidates is a clear sign just how far our political discourse has gotten. People will support anything, and I do mean anything, that their side of the political aisle vomits up.

While I really don't agree with Ted Cruz about a whole lot, one thing he said resonates with me. It's the thing he said that seemed to anger so many people at the RNC.

"Vote your conscience."

The continuation of polishing turds on both sides of the political aisle is what has gotten us to where we are now. This mess doesn't lay strictly on the shoulders of the Dems or the GOP. It's a combination of both. While people wish to put the blame on one party or the other, anyone willing to open their eyes can see the shared responsibility here.

We all need to quit trying to polish turds and actually send a message to both parties during this election cycle. They are both failing us.

If a man like Gary Johnson can receive even 20% of the vote, it sends a strong message just how much political discourse there is among the voting public. If everyone would quit using the excuse that's it's a wasted vote and actually vote their conscience, there's a strong possibility we could help promote a change.

So we have a choice here. Either continue to polish turds or to send a real message to Washington. I know this won't be a popular idea and will be met with resistance. I really don't care. I have seen a lifetime of political divide and discourse that has gotten worse over time. Each side continuing to support candidates that seldom bring about any real change. I've seen the finger pointing each time the other party is in power, even when their own party doesn't deliver anything of substance to them.

So the choice is yours. Stop doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Stop polishing your turd.

Or show your displeasure by voting your conscience.

As I've said before, come Election Day, if Gary is still on the ballot, then he has my vote.

However, I'm not gonna stay home if he isn't. So if he isn't on the ballot, I hope you understand that if it comes down to trump or Clinton, there's zero chance I'm voting for trump.

We direct our anger at the wrong source. Follow the money.

Just keep doing what you've been doing. It has been working out so well.

Join the other parties, everyone. We're a lot more fun to hang with.

When the political slogan of BOTH parties is essentially: "Vote for our turd because we can't have THAT turd in office" ... something is terribly wrong.

On one side you have a person who's potentially sexist and racist, potentially a communist sympathizer, a corporate sellout, a person who will say completely different things depending on who the audience is that day, and person who won't hesitate to lie cheat and steal to get what they need, a person that has cronies in the media who will paint a rosy picture of them while trying to tear down the other, and at the end of the day is covered in more mud than what they've slung at other people ...

And on the other side ... Oh wait, I can't tell which side I've just described anyway.

Good gawd, just vote 3rd party.

Uh, at the risk of repeating myself, Russia is not, not a communist country.

I've already worked through this train of thought a few hundred times.

Problem is that the only way Trump is not going to be President is if we vote for Hillary. The only way Hillary is not going to be President is if we vote for Trump.

Voting third party says you don't like the other choices, but the day after the election it won't mean crap.

Not voting is really what the powers that be, the Oligarchy, want you to do.

So in this election we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I said last week that I would vote third party or stay home. After playing that in my head for a week now, I'm back to I don't know what to do.

I think there is a lot of time left between now and November to decide, and I'm going to wait and see what happens. As crazy as this election cycle has been, one or both of the major candidates might be gone by then, who knows? Only time will tell.

Well grab some wax and a cloth cuz you gots work to do!

- After the election you can proudly state that "I did my duty to vote" and also can say "I did NOT vote for the turd that won the election" ... and be correct no matter who won.

- If everyone that feels the same as you would stop thinking that way, a 3rd party candidate would probably win. And if that happens these idiot parties will stop giving us the crappiest of the crap to vote for each election.

- Even if a 3rd party doesn't win, there is quite a bit that could happen: 1, They could potentially force a non-majority in the Electoral College, which would leave it up to Congress to vote for a winner. There's an outside chance that they could elect someone other than the two turds currently running. 2, It might actually be a wake-up call to the parties that if they keep this up, they WILL lose an election and possibly their party support overall if they continue.

You do realize that congress would vote trump.

That's completely counter productive to voting 3rd party. Thanks for making my decision to vote Gary that much more difficult.

Well, if Veep is to be believed, then congress wouldn't necessarily have to vote between the two. They could introduce other candidates.

Trump is neither Conservative or Liberal, Republican or Democrat.

He is certainly not a Politician.

He is creating an entire new category and we must wait to see exactly what that will be.

One thing I would add: I think people should keep an open mind. There is still a long time until the election. Listen to all of the candidates speak. Listen to what they have to say. Think about the issues we face for yourself and don't listen to the narrative that the media tries to give you. You are your own person, you're an adult, and you can make your own choices on things even if they're not necessarily the most popular choices out there.

I still say a Pit/GM or a GM/Pit ticket could have won the election as far as the popular vote goes.
