Let us not freak.

Look at it this way.

Back on April 1st, 2016, if we were told the Indians would be in first place on August 1st, we would have been ecstatic.

So let's be Ecstatic.

WOO-HOO!! Yeah Tribe!

Way to go Cleveland way to go!!!!

I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'd keep trying combinations until something clicked. Tito might think the 3-hole is too much pressure on the rookie, though. There's only one way to find out ... try it.

I keep it as is. Satana draws walks, Kip is usually good for a hit or two every night, Lindor does Lindor things, Nap is always liable to belt one out, etc.

We need someone at the bottom of the lineup, and Naquin fits just fine where he's at. Now if we can Get Lucroy...

I certainly understand that train of thought .. I am afraid that going forward we are going to need even more production from the top of the order .. Another bat / catcher would be killer ''' Brantley back and healthy would be wonderful , BUT BUT BUT ..

I would bat Santana 5 and Josey and or Lonnie 6 & 7 .. Haven't a clue as what we can do behind the plate .. At the plate that position is past dead .. THE WALKING DEAD !

Quit screwing around and make some moves, enough with the gotta keep this prospect, next year is now , no team in the AL is KC the last 2 years its wide open, we are so scared to do anything without over thinking everything. Cubs had a 3 year plan it took 2, our 3 year plan is on year 6, we are so freaking cheap, the extreme coupons of MLB

All of that talk about Lucroy, and he has an 8 team "no trade" clause, and guess who is on his list?

Yep, the Indians.

Now Jay Bruce also lists the Indians on his "no trade" clause, but has said that he would waive it to be traded to Cleveland.

Great win tonight. Here's to hoping the continue to win without me there; tonight is the last time I'll be at a game for the season. Thanks for a fun summer, Indians.

He could, but there has been no indication whether he would, or not. (though I would think that he would want to play for a team with a real shot at the World Series, especially with a bump in salary, which would be likely to be part of waiving a NT clause)

I would love to see Lucroy in an Indians uniform, along with one of their late inning relievers.

I am still astonished that Cody Allen, one of the better closers in the AL, said that he would be willing to move to a different role if necessary. That shows how much he wants to win.

The unfortunate thing is that the pricetag on a lot of these trades really went through the roof following the Chapman deal. He was a rental, yet he cost 4 prospects, including one upper level prospect. If he cost that, I hate to think what Lucroy (signed through next year) and maybe Smith would cost.

I agree ... the price tag for players (especially bullpen arms) is astronomical right now. It's going to cost quite a bit to get somebody who is under contract next year.

Two rival GMs told Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports that the Indians are now considered the favorites to land Jonathan Lucroy.

Lucroy was held out of Saturday's lineup in anticipation of a trade materializing in the next 24 hours. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick said the Mets haven't made much headway in talks for Lucroy while SB Nation's Chris Cotillo shared that the Rangers remain "far apart" in negotiations. That leaves Cleveland as the de facto favorite. The Brewers could be eying top catching prospect Francisco Mejia, who is currently on a 40-game hitting streak for High-A Lynchburg. Though no deal is imminent, the odds are incredibly strong that Lucroy has played his final game as a Brewer.

I would hate to give up Meija, but with Lucroy under contract this year and next, it might be worth it. Meija looks like a natural hitter, able to hit just about anything, and when he works his way to the majors, he could be really special ...... but this year could be special too. I would love to see Lucroy's bat in our already pretty potent lineup. It seems like way too often the catcher's spot in the lineup is where a rally goes to die. That would not be the case with Lucroy.

If we give up Meija, I hope that we also get a reliever in the package.

The kicker is that Lucroy is still under contract next year as you said. I'd anticipate getting a reliever at some point here then too.

As @jeffpassan said, #Brewers, #Indians are exchanging medicals. So, deal is not official. But agreement in place.

Source: #Brewers would receive three players from #Indians if deal goes through. Identities not yet known.

Ouch. (especially if we also give up Mejia. His hitting streak is up to 42 games. shocked

If Lucroy deal goes through, one of the players headed to Milwaukee could be lefty Justus Sheffield, one of Tribe's top pitching prospects.

Lucroy is not only among the best catchers in the league, he is among the best players in the league.

Also heading from #Indians to #Brewers if Lucroy trade goes through, per source: Ss Yu-Cheng Chang and Greg Allenugh, as @jonheyman reported.

Hmm .... I'm OK with those 2. Lindor and Kipnis have the middle of the infield locked up.

Mejia is prob gonna be a stud but is expendable now especially since Lucroy will prob want an extension & raise to waive no-trade #Tribe

Man, if we get Lucroy, and also add another year to his deal ...... That would be incredible!

It's a deal the Tribe has to make. The window of opportunity to win for teams like the Tribe are small.

Last I saw of Mejia he was riding a 41 game hitting streak in Lynchburg.

Hmm ... I wonder if the Tribe held onto Justus ..... because everything I have read says that they gave up 3 top prospects, and 1 lower level prospect.

Mejia, Chang, and Allen are all top 22 in the Tribe Farm system.

If they got Lucroy without giving up a top pitcher or Zimmer/Bradley ..... then that's really robbery for the Tribe. grin

Totally agree - gotta hedge the bets on the future a bit sometimes to win now. We've assembled a nice team and will have a couple of years to try and win it all if we are lucky.

Weird that they are starting to do NBA style salary dumps in MLB. And it was the Padres and the Braves. Everyone has money to burn.

Three prospects reportedly heading to the Brewers are catcher Francisco Mejia -- ranked sixth on MLBPipeline.com's list of the Tribe's Top 30 prospects -- shortstop Yu-Cheng Chang (No. 12) and outfielder Greg Allen (No. 22). All three players are currently with Class A Advanced Lynchburg.

While the Indians are reportedly parting with a hefty prospect package, Cleveland managed to hang on to its two most coveted prospects, outfielders Clint Frazier and Brad Zimmer, who rank No. 1 and 2 on its Top 30 prospects list.

The 20-year-old Mejia, who extended an incredible hitting streak to 42 games Saturday, is a switch-hitter who projects as a great all-around catcher. Chang, 20, was batting .273 with 48 extra-base hits and an .840 OPS through 94 games with Lynchburg. Allen, 22, has great strike-zone discipline (140 walks compared to 143 strikeouts in the Minors) and plus speed (114 steals in three pro seasons).

Mlb Network ticker is saying Lucroy has WAIVED the NTC.

Do we go after Miller now since we've kept all of Naquin, Zimmer and Frazier.
