Pryor Interview

You won't see Hue, Coleman or Gordon. It's Pryor talking about the WR meeting room.

Video on Tom House (the QB guru that Griffin and Kessler worked with in the off-season):

Josh Gordon vaults this receiving corps up several notches

Don't have the link to an interview I heard from Mary K Cabot:

But in it she said that:
Coleman and Gordon were playing the X and that Pryor was working the Z.

So that leaves Hawk in the slot, but I wonder who has been playing in the slot w/ Hawkins out? Higgins, R.Hall would be my guesses.

X-Coleman Y-?(Hawkins) Higgins/Hall Z-Pryor

But, who plays the X when Gordon comes back?

I would expect that unless Gordon surpasses Coleman in camp, then Coleman will continue to play the X and Gordon will work his way back. Gordon will get on the field to spell Coleman when he needs it, or when we go with 4+ WR.

RG3 looks 'unbelievably believable' again
By Ryan Van Bibber  @justRVB on Aug 4, 2016, 8:48a

The anticipated RG3 comeback is on track in Cleveland, at least according to early camp reports. A crew from Pro Football Focus was in Berea, Ohio, to watch the Browns practice on Wednesday. They saw a quarterback who looked very much like the guy who won the Rookie of the Year award in 2012, "an impressive athlete with all the arm talent you could wish for ..."

Griffin hit fellow Baylor product Corey Coleman for a sweet touchdown pass during 11-on-11 drills. An end zone fade to Terrelle Pryor during another drill didn't work as well. So, maybe the secret is having him throw only to Baylor products? The Browns have Coleman and Josh Gordon, so that's an option.

The problem with RG3, as PFF saw it, is that he was still limited in going through his progressions, taking off if the first read was covered. But Hue Jackson's offensive game plan is designed to account for that.

I know RG3 can rub folks the wrong way with those obnoxious motivational quotes and whatnot, but I tune out all the other crap if he can play like the guy we saw in 2012. That version of RG3 was fun to watch, and isn't that why we do this in the first place?

FOLES'D AGAIN: Nick Foles is coming to the Chiefs. He's reunited with Andy Reid, giving the Chiefs another experienced veteran backup to replace Chase Daniel. This probably means the end of the line in KC for Aaron Murray and/or Tyler Bray.

Wait, what happened to the Cowboys? He reportedly had offers from Dallas and Minnesota, but Reid was apparently the deciding factor. If you're keeping track, that's the third time the Cowboys didn't get their quarterback this year, including failed efforts to trade up for Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook in the draft this year.

Dallas is said to be trying to entice Cleveland to deal Josh McCown, but the Browns are reluctant, as they probably should be given RG3's injury history.

YUM YUM BUMBLEBEE: The Steelers are retiring their "bumblebee" uniforms. A divisive third jersey meets its end this year.

NINERS EXTEND BOWMAN: NaVorro Bowman signs four-year contract extension with 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers have signed their star linebacker through 2022.

MORE BAD NEWS FOR THE COWBOYS: Ezekiel Elliott could miss some time with a hamstring injury. It's nothing major, but damn, rough week for the Cowboys.

THE BENNETTS ARE THE BEST: The Bennett brothers vs. everyone. Michael and Martellus Bennett are brutally honest: Just ask them about Roger Goodell, Jay Cutler or, say, the entire structure of the NFL. You have to read this profile of the two from Mina Kimes at ESPN the Magazine.

KEENUM IS THE STARTER: Jeff Fisher says Case Keenum is the Rams’ starter. Um, okay. Anything Fisher says about his quarterbacks -- from when he didn't know Keenum was concussed, to Sam Bradford/Nick Foles/Keenum/Jared Goff being franchise cornerstones -- is usually b.s.

NICE HAIRCUT: Ryan Fitzpatrick got a haircut. Fitzpatrick’s unruly mushroom-shaped coif is no more.

CUTLER'S COOL: Jay Cutler hopes Tom Brady can give Martellus Bennett everything he wants. Super chill Jay Cutler just wants the best for everyone.

THE NFL'S DRUG PROBLEM: Comfortably Numb: The NFL fell in love with a painkiller it barely knew. Players have depended on Toradol injections to keep them on the field for two decades. Now, the NFL could be facing its next health crisis because of it.

PARDONED: President Obama grants clemency to Demaryius Thomas' grandmother. The president also pardoned Thomas' mother for a nonviolent drug offense last year.

EASE UP ON THE MAN: Cut Janoris Jenkins some slack already. Less than a week into training camp, Jenkins seems to have already drawn the ire of many in the fan base. Let’s calm down and give the guy a chance.

DUMB EAGLES: Donovan McNabb says what the Eagles did at quarterback is "dumb." It feels like he's not entirely wrong here.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Follow-on question.

If i'm reading your post right (and please correct me if I'm wrong)...you are saying that come Week 5 Gordon would get on the field to spell Coleman i.e be a back-up X receiver or get on the field when we go 4 WR sets?

If I'm understand you correctly then my question is that: If Coleman is the X then why wouldn't you get Gordon on the field at the Z or the slot?
Wouldn't Gordon rate ahead of whomever Pryor/Hawkins/Higgins is playing at either of those positions?

As of now, Gordon is injured. I don't know for how long he will remain so.

Gordon has been out of football for an entire season and the majority of the previous season. He's not in "football shape" by any stretch. A lot of his playing time will be based on how well he can become and how well he learns this offense. He has a long way to go to get there and I believe how much he will or won't play after his suspension is up is pure speculation at best when we are in this current position.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
