I’ll bet the USA’s Opening Ceremony Parade Uniforms were not picked-out by the US Taekwondo contingent.

White Polo Ralph Lauren denim trousers paired with a red, white and blue horizontal-striped T-shirt worn under a navy blue blazer.

This looks more like the LGBT Olympics.(not that there's anything wrong with that)

All in all, I like the winter games more.

I liked it better back when they had winter and summer in the same year, then wait 4 years...

It just seems like now there is always an Olympics either just finished or getting ready to start. It lost a lot of it's anticipation when they went on a every-two-year rotation.

It's exactly like The Ryder Cup and The Presidents Cup, now we have a Cup every year and it's lost a bit of it's luster.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!

Swede women score first points beating South Africa 1-0 (Group E).

Estadio Olimpico (Olympic Stadium) in Rio looked great. It was pretty cool to watch the stadium slowly fill-up during the first game today.

Two more matches there today:

Algeria vs. Honduras (3 pm EST)
Portugal vs. Argentina (6 pm EST)

42 condoms per athlete?

Say it ain't so.

Wait, what about Dominique Moceanu?

She was like 14 when she won gold.

What's she gonna do with a condom? Legally?

Oh I think I see.

I’m still having trouble understanding the 42 condoms per Olympian.

Why?

I…I...I... mean it’s only 17 days. 2-3 condoms per day? Won’t most of them be kinda tired? Won’t most of them be thinking about their next event?

I could understand several “Olympic romances” (there are 10,000 very nubile people there, and it is Rio)

But 42 condoms/athlete? This isn’t the Bunny Ranch. This isn’t the sex olympics.

As the Olympics are about to "officially" start, I will give my opinion.. the last few summer Olympics, the USA has won +/-110 medals and +/-40 of them were gold medals. If they don't reach those marks this summer, it's all Obama's fault. However, should they exceed historical expectations, it is purely due to the effort and unique greatness of our athletes.

Good luck athletes!!!!!!!

The opening ceremonies seem a lot odd to me. I'm seeing a bunch of choregraphed nonsense that serves no point.

I get that a bunch of people can dance slowly to some visionaries idea of "something", but what I don't understand is

Why do we have to be subjected to lousy art that is only on this grandiose of a stage, just because it's the Olympics, and has Olympics in it's name.

edit.
And even if it "has" to be something like this.
Try this.
Put the blue man group on side by side with this stuff and the blue man group would blow this thing out of the water!

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

London? That is where they only had 4 of the 5 Lympic rings show up isn't it?

Lots of human rights violations going on in Rio. Certain groups, the extremely poor, basically barred from going anywhere near the city. They even erected a giant wall that blocks out view of where they live.

Why does every country always treat their poor even worse during the Olympics? I remember reports of China doing the same thing.

I understand there are a lot of dancers, a thousands dancers ok.

But I haven't seen one dancer be " special"

1940's tap dance movies were more special
the Rocketete's in Ny City were more special.

I just don't see any moves, I mean no moves I couldn't have found better than on any episode of the T.V. show " soulllllllllll train"
over it's 35 year history.

after all it was the " longest running first run syndicated television show in history" or something. Soul Traiiiin!

They might as well get on with the athletics!~

They have like five stadiums within 500 feet of each other. That is really weird.

I'm so happy that the country where our athletes will be forced to swim in crap filled water is lecturing us all on taking care of the environment.

With all this flag trivia being rattled off they should have Sheldon from TBBT do a segment on it for the Olympics.

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM
my two cents...
