We do this every other year. This year my brother says this isn't fair. When you do this you pay for everything except covered dishes. You rent a tent tables and everything. And then you have things for the kids to do.
Then he asked me what it costs. I told him grandkids weekend which we do every year about a 1,000 and about 1500 for the family thing. Well the grandkids loved the balloon fight this year and the slip and slide b kickball were doing it durning the family get together.
Of course they still have the pool. Anyways I told him you can't put a cost on memory. My kids and grandkids will remember this and hopefully so will their grandkids. It's how you live on through your children.

Man that's a really cool what you do bro. Especially with young kids, they don't remember cost. They remember the awesome time they had with their family.

Daman my brother is doing well. It's just something I always did. Family is important to me. I'm just hoping they remember. Heck my grandpa ran the sand boat in Sandusky and by the time I was 6 I was on all the Great Lakes but Ontario. And sometimes I got to drive the boat. Could you imagine a 5 yr old running a 90 ft boat.
But what I remember the most was we would go down to see him off and if there was hot chocolate fixings onboard I was going to get sand.
These are memories I hope my grandkids remember.

I'm not trying to be an a$$ or anything here. BUT if your brother is doing well and thinks it's so unfair, maybe he should just have handed you a check and said he wanted to chip in on things.
It just seems odd to me that someone would make such a statement when they easily have the power to help change it.

Pitt what he said later was he was going to bring a box of 2 dozen burgers, and a couple covered dishes, and some drinks. My other brother told me the other day he's bring 50 hotdogs from Tanks. Now those are good hotdogs. Now I will get a box of 2 dozen hamburger's and a pack of 24 beef dogs. And I already have burger here for the ones that like the hand pressed burger.
Now got to make the beans,get the chips the stuff to make Honolulu coolers. My make that in honor of our dad. He made those every Christmas. Some wine for the wife and about 4 cases of pop.
And more charcoal. We will be running 3 grills.
