I don't see him as much more than a rotational guy. Doesn't really have the ability to play center anymore. Might be bringing him in to take Almonte's spot in the postseason (knock on wood).

so does that mean Crisp had to pass through waivers in order to be traded?

Yes, but I believe he has or will due to his contract. Sounds like the A's and Indians have worked out a way to creatively undertake the contract.

Might be bringing him in to take Almonte's spot in the postseason... Even though Almonte's PED postseason ban will bite us this year, assuming we make it in, I still like the rule. Get caught, serve your suspension and no postseason for you that year. All sports leagues should do the same.

Coco will take Almonte's spot in the post-seaspon, and will also bring playoff experience to the team.
I just wonder who is going to be sent down.

I just wonder who is going to be sent down. Coco Crisp took the 40 man roster spot of Tommy Hunter that was left open after his release.

Crisp for oakland played mostly LF, CF and has been DH a bit recently. He still has decent speed, but offensively he's basically Brandon Guyer. He's good with RISP. Def. playoff tested and I think a good signing for stretch run

I just wonder who is going to be sent down. Coco Crisp took the 40 man roster spot of Tommy Hunter that was left open after his release. We promoted a pitcher and sent Shaun Armstrong down to the Minors. I forgot that tomorrow is Sept. 1 ..... so we can call additional players up.

'Nother homer for Perez.
...............BA...OBP..SLG R Perez C .156 .284 .256
That batting average keeps climbing. I hope it doesn't go to his head. 70 more points and he'll be batting his weight (225 lbs).
Hey, wait a minute.
I've never seen an On Base Percentage greater than a Slugging Percentage.
How do you do that? Isn't that impossible?

How do you do that? Isn't that impossible? You bat .156, rarely getting nothing more than a single, and then draw walks.

Thank goodness. I was so tired of losing to the Twins, especially considering that they stink. I think that it's time for Tomlin to go to the bullpen. He is just killing us lately, and he has to see that as well. Maybe he goes to the bullpen, the pressure comes off, and he gets his arm back, and his mechanics functioning properly as well. He can't keep starting and giving up 4-8 runs in a handful of innings though. I really like Clevinger, and hopefully he'll get a shot in the rotation.

Tomlin absolutely needs to be taken out of the rotation, theres just no fixing what's wrong with him by starting him, I'd almost send him down for "rehab" just to fix his mechanics. But when you're a softball pitcher who isn't getting movement and can't locate your pitches, you're going to get drilled. Everyone else in the rotation has seemed to settle back in, Clevinger is a starting pitcher, not a BP guy. He should be given the chance for rest of season to see, i think Bauer and Tomlin/Clevinger are in the BP come playoffs anyways though depending on the rest of september Bauer could be replaced by Danny or Carlos, i think at this point the only one we know for sure will be Kluber. They all except tomlin had good starts last time, except Carrasco...he's scary, he's either off or on and no in between...might not be a good risk come playoffs, but with the expanded BP Tito can have them all on a short leash, Guys like Otero and Miller who can just come in and shut down everything.

With a dominant pitching performance last night, we've had 4 really strong starts from Kluber Salazar, Bauer, and now Carrasco. 7 shutout innings, with 11 K's, and the win. It also looks like Tito has finally seen the light with Tomlin; they're skipping his next start, probably going with Clevinger instead. That's a good thing.
Tough matchup tonight with Bauer vs Fernandez. Maybe the Indians can find their 2015 mojo against elite starters, and keep that 5-1/2 game cushion intact over the streaking Tigers. Magic number is 25 to clinch the Central.

carrasco was pretty dominant last night, he's the one outside of tomlin you worry about, but since carlos has a big league arm and Tomlin don't, you know he always has a chance to get it figured out. If Clevinger can just keep in the ballpark he'll be an upgrade. I think our rotation is starting to get it back together and we're starting to hit again...except for Napoli, not sure what has happened to him but he's costing himself money right now. Good test for the tribe tonight, i'm glad we're playing at home against Fernandez, just need to get to him early.

Indians win and the Royals beat the Tigers. That means that the Indians lead is back to 5.5 games over the Tigers, and stays at 8.5 overt the Royals.
28 games left. The Indians are 6 better than the Tigers in the loss column. The Indians magic number is 23 against the Tigers, and 20 against the Royals.
Hopefully the Indians win tomorrow, and the Royals beat the Tiggers again. That would move back to a 6.5 game lead.
Let's go Tribe!

Another big win for the Tribe. It be nice to get hot and put alittle more distance between us and the Tigers and Royals.

I lifted this off one of the posters over at the Indians' MB - just thought it was interesting.
Indians through 134 games: 2016: 78-56, 5.5-game lead 2007: 77-57, 5.5-game lead* 2001: 76-58, 5.5-game lead*
*last two AL Central titles

"At this rate, the Indians will finish..."
Hold on: 78/134 * 162 =
4 into 7.. carry the 3...
I get 2.

god Lonnie and Almonte should not be back to back in the lineup, they both are horrible situational hitters. Making Koehler look like Cy Young. Had a great chance there, 2 on 1 out and nada, still 1-0. Glad to see Danny back to dealing.. def. puts the fears aside with the rotation, 4 out of 5 is plenty for post season
