Typically our Brownies lose the first game of every season (along with many others - ha-ha!). But personally? It just makes me feel better to think we will win, even if I don't really think that. But I also dislike being wrong. With that in mind I'm gonna guess it will be the Eagles with the win. I'll keep my fingers crossed I'm wrong, though.

Browns 31-13.
Pryor has over 100 yards receiving, Coleman ends up with around 60 yards receiving and 30 yards rushing.
Nassib and ogbah combine for 4-5 sacks.
Haden gets a pick 6.

Tons of rushing yards for them... tons. Wentz won't be asked much, and he'll have a good passing game that's setup on play action alone.

I think the Browns overwhelm Wentz. He is a rookie from a small school and has had very few reps in preseason.

I think the Eagles D will be better than advertised Wentz will be JUST good enough .. they'll rely heavily on Matthews, Matthews, and Ertz w/underneath stuff to expose our LBs Our pass rush took a hit when it was announced that Lane Johnson CAN play in week 1 Eagles 23 Browns 17

I think we have the better QB and Head Coach so I'll say the Browns win this one 23 to 17.

The Browns are young on D but Horton and Lebeau make it pure hell on rookie Qbs. I also like the fact that our D played so much in preseason. I believe they will be a very pleasant surprise come sunday.
Offensively, I believe it really comes down to our OL vs their DL. Eagles like to attack the ball and if you can stall their rush they are very vulnerable over the top. Pryor and RG3 could sneak a couple big ones on them but the Day of Crow is upon us.

Our defense has shown that it cannot stop the run at all. This means that Wentz doesn't have to do anything at all to beat us. We'll be getting sucked in so badly to try to stop the run that Wentz should be able to pop screens and slants/drags on us all day... the pressure will be on its heels from the run game.
On offense, we should fare better, but at the end of the day, I think that their defense is better than our offense.
I feel an ugly, frustrating outing coming our way with us dropping yet another season opener. No clue on the score, but I am willing to bet that it will be "close enough" to make us feel like we had a chance.

First off, I see Vegas has the Browns as 4 point underdogs. I know for a fact (based on an extensive study I did years ago) the following equation is a fact of NFL regular season lines: The favorite wins this often: x - point spread. (3.33% * x) + 50% = Percentage times the favorite wins. So for the Browns opener: (3.33% * 4) + 50% = 63 1/3% (Chance of Eagles win) Brown's chance of winning 36 2/3%. A little higher than 1/3 chance. Pick a number from one to three. "Are you feelin' lucky?".... "Well... are ya?...punk." free pic

Browns win. I was talking about this with my wife last night. If there was ever a chance for the Browns D to shine, it's against Wentz in his first game. Stuff the run, keep tight coverages, and blitz early and often. Then I told her that I can also see a scenario where they run Mathews and Sproles down our throats, set Wentz up with short, quick, high percentage passes, while also having him beat us with designed bootlegs every third or fourth pass, which we never seem to be able to defend. Bottom line: WTF knows. But I'm leaning toward the odds. Browns lose 27-10

I like our chances and I think Swish is spot on w/ the points.
We have a deep game (finally!!!). I expect Hue to go for the big play early (maybe on the first play???)in hopes we get out to a quick lead and get Wentz to play from behind. If we can do that we can simplify things for our rooks on DEF and they can pin their ears back.

It comes down to scoring more points, and I think their offense could struggle. I think we have more potential for an explosive play. It will probably be an ugly game, but I think we should win.
20-13.
I'm not sure that I completely believe that, but if we don't win it could be a long season. I'm not sure how this season is going to play out. There has been so much turnover throughout the entire franchise, a lot even for us. I'm hoping Hue's un-NFL-ized comment works out in our favor.

In the "dress rehearsal" game against TB our Run D actually looked pretty good. It was the Pass D that got torched, mostly because Winston had tons of time/kept plays alive. I think our roster has better pass rush now with Schobert, Nassib, and Ogbah and hopefully we've cleaned up our communication issues on the back end. We've got so many new pieces I'm not sure we know how they'll look yet this season.

We own our 1st round pick along with the Eagles' 1st round pick. No matter who loses, we win. I think that this is one of a very few winnable games, but we'll see.

I saw nothing in the preseason to suggest that the Browns can win this game.
We averaged 11 points per game in the preseason and couldn't stop anyone.
RG III had some moments but will not have Josh Gordon to throw to.
I just don't see how we can stop anyone on defense. A mediocre Wentz should beat us by at least 10 points.

Eagles have a crappy WR core. If Haden looks bad, he's a candidate to get traded by the deadline.

I like the Browns and the points, but I really don't feel very confident that they will win.
That's strictly from a wagering perspective.
My heart says the Browns lose, because that's what we do on opening day.
Like I said in the poll thread for our record, I don't like predictions, but if I am going to make one, I think the Browns win this game.
Would be nice for coach to come out of Philly with his first win in his first game.
I think Ray Horton uses some exotic looks, probably a few CB blitzes, and really tries to confuse Wentz into back breaking mistakes. I think RG3 will make just enough plays to get this team to the 4th quarter. I also feel like one of these rookies is really going to shine on Sunday. Nassib, Ogbah, Coleman, etc.. One of those guys is going to come up big. Hopefully we see the Joe Haden we all know and love too.

I actually think we win this one. I think Hue will outsmart and out coach Pederson. Wentz struggles even with our youngsters. RG3 and the O will put up some points and hint at what they can be. What we saw in preseason was just a run through while not letting any of their playbook out too soon.

The Eagles appear to play 3 wide as their base personnel grouping.
This proly means a lot of: nassib-cooper-shelton-ogbah
In the secondary it's Haden, Williams, Taylor, Poyer and IC
LBs-Kirksey and Davis
Their receiving corps is led by Matthews and Ertz the rest are unproven heretofore unproductive
Run game is led by a very good OL and decent RB
Play calling is gonna be interesting. Will Peterson be a Reid clone? Seems like their best bet is try to get their run game going but I think our nickel run person nel will be ready and build 8 man boxes if needed.
This game will tell us what style offense. I think Hue will make it a point tomorrow able to run Attack downfield off playaction

Whoever wins this game goes 1-15 for the season...the other goes 0-16, and the Browns end up with the first 2 overall picks in the 2017 draft.
