Our O line is trash.
Offense fell apart after irvings craptastic snap for a safety.
Defense...obviously young.
But Nassib looks really good.

Oline = average at best! We are just not dominant up front. And the pass blocking in the 4th qtr was horrid.
Dfense = I have said it for years, we do not have the personal to run a 3-4. Our NG does not command a double team which DOOMS the middle of a 3-4. People are going to run down our throats. Also, our secondary is lacking. But I also think the D-Coord has to call a better game.

It's gonna be a long year. These guys took an already weak team and made them weaker by going younger. I pray it pays dividends down the line...
I also thought Hue put the o-team in a funk by starting the game off with those cutesy plays and a bizarre punt fake.

Seemed mentally weak to me. Maybe because we're so young, but we had momentum and we're moving the ball until the safety. Then we got nothing on O.
D looked bad 1st quarter, but I don't think they looked terrible the rest of the game until the O crapped the bed and had like four 3 and outs in a row.

Online needs work
No way RG3 lasts the seasons
Coleman needs to catch with his hands not his body
Nassib looked good and made plays
D was better than I expected but needs work
Hue made a few bad decisions and put the defense in a few bad spots

Wentz looked good....well see how his season goes but I can already here the talking heads criticizing Browns for not drafting him. Dude throws a very nice ball and has the arm strength....and looks confident! Front office might have overthought themselves (again!) on this one.
RGIII did not look so good passing outside of 20 yards. Also, seemed to hold the ball a bit too long but hard to say cause O-Line is a seive. Erving is too weak in the middle.
Nassib is our next Jerry Sherk for those who can remember. Kid looks good and has a high motor.
Didn't see much from Ogbah (sp?).

Only getting three points instead of seven coming out of the half was a momentum changer.
The bad snap and the ensuing drive for a touchdown seemed to have taken the wind straight out of the sails.
I don't think our line is as trash as everyone is saying. We were deep in our own territory needing to throw the ball to get back in the game and they just pinned their ears back and got after RG3.
We have three playmakers on offense in Duke, Pryor and Coleman. Hopefully we will see them change games for us.
No one really stood out as a playmaker on defense, but I think that Nassib can be that guy. They were gassed by the end of this game.
The "fake punt" was a horrible call, especially considering that our punter wasn't even on the field. Not really much of a fake punt.
Haden gets burnt big Every. Single. Game... And, it's always at a time where we really need a big stop.
The game got really boring and not entertaining once we had to play from 10+ points behind.

This is going to be a tough year, especially the 1st half of the season.
Look, this team has only a handful of draft picks from more than 3 years back.
Thomas, Haden, Hughes, and that's it. We have guys from the 2014 draft ..... but every draft before 2014? Those 3 guys are it.
We have a total of 5 guys who were 1st round picks for us. Of course Thomas and Haden are 2, then Shelton, Erving, and Coleman this year. That's it.
This team is extraordinarily young, and it is going to struggle. It is extraordinarily inexperienced, and inexperienced in playing together. The team is also inexperienced in playing the schemes we play this year. We will win no more than 4 games. I have been consistent in that thought, and I have even gone so far as to say that if we win 4, Hue should win coach of the year. I think that we might win 3 ..... probably all in the 2nd half, as the team starts to come together. We'll see though.
People talking about the OL need to remember that we have a very young Center, playing his 1st game at the position. Hopefully he will develop as the year progresses. It's way too soon to throw him out just yet.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Our first round center crushed mounting momentum on an unforced error. Our first round CB then gave up a TD to a D2 QB in his first start to a receiver who's really just a JAG. When we still had a sliver of hope our first round LT gave up a sack. That about sums it up for me.
Actually, one other thought. Jackson was out coached severely by Pederson. Pederson made the game simple for Wentz. All Hue wanted to do was hit homeruns.
Ok, one more. The Browns spent years winning just enough to not be able to draft any guy they wanted. So what they did this past draft was just so Browns.

Yes, I remember Jerry Sherk and Walter Johnson controlling the middle of the d-line. But 1 game does not make Nassib Jerry Sherk! Plus, on run plays, I did not see Nassib making plays. I will go back and re-watch game though.

Surprised we didn't simplify RG3s reads and roll him out more. Hue needs to figure out what we do well quick.
Tramon was getting picked on early. Hopefully Burley gets healthy and can play.
Shelton looked much more effective.
Kindred looked pretty good flying around so of course he hurt his ankle.
Nassib needs to play the run better at times, but the talent is showing up.
RG3 looked off. Barnidge's 2 drops didn't help him find his rhythm.
Telfer looked good blocking on a few plays.
They've got a lot of growing to do.

Only 15 more to go. I expected the loss but I'm unhappy Wentz played so well.

Did any other team lose it's opener by 19?
Msybe there is parity in the NFL.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

You could tell RG3 lost faith in barnidge.
I mean damn, those throws to him were in the money and he dropped both.

From the standpoint of paying money to sit at a sports bar and watch the game, I was entertained. I was expecting a boring blow out, but we were competitive in the first half.
This is a young team, they should get better. So I give them a pass.
RG3 needs to practice throws over twenty yards. Too many overthrown to wreck our momentum.

Wentz is going to come crashing back to earth when he faces actual nfl defense. Made a few good throws but was unimpressed.
Everything else was as expected.

The Browns did not look like a competitive team, as I expected, even against a crappy team. This new front office better be right about their intended direction, because if they aren't, and we are subjected to this kind of play for another year or two without becoming a great team after that, this fan base is going to completely lose faith.

What quarterback we didn't need? The one who was missing guys high and the one that struggled for half the game against the worst defense in the NFL. Eagles looked like a 4 win team to me. We just are that much worse right now.

For being a Vet, I thought Hawk looked slow and confused. I think he's gone when Gordon comes back. I would rather they stick Higgens or Payton out there. I saw Nassib make some plays in the run game. I think the Rooks are gonna be fine. I guess I'll say I'm sorry now, I thought we might go 8-8. But after seeing this mess, We be doing good to win 4. Like some on here, I'm getting older and I don't know how many years I have left, I wish I would have just canceled the Sunday Ticket, but since the season started I can't. Now I feel bad for taking money we need for health care and flushing it down the drain

We just are that much worse right now. You are so on the money. This is a horrid Eagles team playing a team that shouldn't be called professional. Wait until we play either the Bengals or Pitt...good lord! This game was bad IMO. We'll be lucky to win a game.

I am concerned that Haden has become our weak sister, a go to guy when needed. No jam in press means chase his man. No pressure to speak of makes this worse.
The QB sure missed a bunch of throws. Coleman needs to catch with his hands, not with his body, We sure didn't do much good at first series. Dust off McCown; this holding the ball will get him killed.
Find some weapons and use them. Especially on D. Remember Barnidge?

Not great at it, so a little help. Evaluate the ST for us this game. How did we do? What do you key on. Struck me as unremarkable all day long.
Some coaches think these units are game changers. Or not in our case. What do you watch (besides our missed tackles and penalty flags)?
Credit where due: Did we have any solid ST performers I can watch for?

I think we will be better at the end of the season, but the max I see out of this team is 3 wins.
I think we have a decent offense somewhere. And Nassib looks pretty good. I saw Shelton look much better today and I think Ogbah will get better with more time.
But our secondary is entirely trash. Willams is old, Haden is washed, Poyer is god awful and Campbell cannot cover.
We need to give this regime time. When we had momentum, the game was in our grasp and I thought we might win but Erving ended that hope.
Onto the next one. I think the Ravens are horrible too, so we might have a shot.

I thought the game momentum changed with the interception. Because we were on the verge of scoring again. We would have had the lead iirc if we got a td there.

Hope the HC learned a valuable lesson. This isn't madden.
Growing pains will be involved this year, but I'm not going to spazz out just yet. Team just went flat after the safety/high snap.

Now I did see some good Nasbit. And alot of bad. Drops hurt but the worse things was Hues brain fart on the punt and Evrings snap. That was 12 points and a swing in momentum. Ya maybe we still lose but maybe not. We can't do boneheaded crap.

The Oline is a problem, although not as bad as I thought it would be. Much of the game their Dline was pinning their ears back. I thought, aside from the bad snap, that Erving played well, the sacks and pressure came from the edges for the most part. Coleman dropped passes, I hope he cleans that up. Nassib looked better in the run than I expected, got turned in once on a sideline run, but otherwise did well. He looks like a potential stud. Ogbah made an early play, but then disappeared. Kindred is going to force his way into the starting lineup soon. Our Dbacks are a problem.
The game went pretty much as I expected. I'm looking for improvement more than wins, but improvement should lead to wins.

I wish we could just lose games.
Bad teams lose games.
We however put in extra effort to get behind, then give the fans a glimmer of hope, only to quickly kick them in the face with something overly ridiculous..
I wish I didn't care.

Nassib was a highlight for a team with not many. That defense is going to get eaten up all year.
Pryor looks like he has the potential to polish into a solid weapon. Offensive needs to be designed with more vertical attack than lateral. We started to and saw results. However, once we were forced into all-pass mode with no run presence, the line and everything else fell apart.
Cam Irving is not a starting center at this point.
We are in rebuilding mode, so expectations are extremely low this year. With the roster gutted, this is what I expect. I really think we will have the 1st pick next year. Hopefully, we'll see some consistent winning by 2018. To expect anything sooner would be setting yourself up for a lot of heartache.
