I just heard that Mo Williams is retiring. Yeah, surprising that he doesn't want another year. Maybe he was encouraged

Cavs make aggressive offer to Jr Smith. Please accept it JR, this is definitely your home here in Cleveland.

It's September 27th, 2016 and the Cleveland Cavaliers are still the Defending NBA Champions.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Cleveland Cavaliers officially announce Tyronn Lue's coaching staff, promoting Larry Drew to associate head coach By Chris Fedor, cleveland.com Email the author | Follow on Twitter on September 27, 2016 at 4:50 PM, updated September 27, 2016 at 4:54 PM INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers opened training camp on Tuesday afternoon, with Tyronn Lue's coaching staff officially in place. "We are extremely pleased to secure Coach Lue's staff into the future," General Manager David Griffin said. "The diverse talents and wealth of experience they bring to our Cavs family is, and has been, essential to our growth and evolution as a Championship-caliber franchise." There are a few minor tweaks to this season's staff, as Larry Drew has been promoted to associate head coach. Damon Jones, who started as a "shooting consultant" with the Cavaliers and the team's D-League affiliate Canton Charge, will have a bigger role with the team, being named an assistant coach. Jones will take the place of Bret Brielmaier, who joined Brooklyn Nets' head coach Kenny Atkinson in July. Jones will join Jim Boylan, defensive coordinator Mike Longabardi and James Posey on Lue's bench. Phil Handy returns as Cavs director of player development and assistant coach while Vitaly Potapenko remains assistant director of player development. The Cavaliers also promoted Dan Vincent to special assistant to the head coach and manager of advanced scouting. Prior to the change, Vincent served as Cleveland's manager of video and advance scouting. With Jordi Fernandez, the winningest coach in Charge history, taking a job with the Denver Nuggets, Canton needed to make staff changes as well. As previously reported by cleveland.com, Nate Reinking has been named head coach. Reinking, 42, an Upper Sandusky native and Kent State graduate who played for the British national team in the 2012 Summer Olympics, was an assistant coach for the Charge, as the team reached the conference finals in back-to-back seasons. Former NBA player Melvin Ely and Sam Jones have been hired as assistant coaches on Reinking's staff. Along with Reinking, Ely and Jones, Mike Gerrity has been promoted to director of player development for the Charge. Gerrity will also serve as the Cavaliers' player development assistant. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2016/09/cleveland_cavaliers_officially_4.html

with Mo officially gone, I wonder if we go after Chalmers, i think Cole will be to expensive because he expects to get paid, but mario might take a cut to play with lebron and a chance to win again.

When asked by the media what Tim Duncan's official title will be on the coaching staff of the Spurs, Pops responds, "Coach of whatever he feels like".. I love that guy.

Raymond Felton is a name to keep an eye out for if it doesn't work out in LA.
Is Nate Robinson worth looking at?

I think Chalmers would be a great, great fit in Cleveland. He is the one guy I have been holding out hope for all off-season.

The Cavs have offered Anderson Verajao a championship ring.
There is no right answer here.

There is no right answer here. I thought he said he was declining that a long time ago? Can't blame him. I mean if he had gone to the TWolves or something I could see him taking it even though it wouldn't mean a whole lot.. but to go to the team the Cavs beat in the finals? Yea, I don't think I would want it.

Yeah, he said he'd refuse when/if asked.
The Cavs are doing it right by offering even though he said that just after game 7.
If I were Andy, I'd accept it and thank Cleveland for their support all those years.

I agree. He played a role on the team during the championship season....let alone all of the lean years.

Now, if Andy offered his ring to me, I'd have it on eBay within 90 seconds.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kirk Hinrich in a Cavs' uni. He might be the cheapest of options (and the oldest unfortunately) to consider since J.R. has yet to be signed. We have several people who could play PG and score and I just don't see us putting a lot of resources into the backup PG. It might be a fit.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Even all of the food vendors are apparently getting one too. I dig it. Cool move indeed Gilbert.
Keep an eye on ebay cause I'm sure rings will be up for sale/auction. If I got a ring, I'd be mounting that above my fireplace (if I had a fireplace lol.)

That's just a special kind of awesome. Even cooler is I have a friend who's son works for the Cav's. Next time he's home, I'll get to actually see it! (well, the next time he's home after he gets the ring)

A few fun Cav dates: They play the day before and the day after Thanksgiving. And of course they play Golden State on Christmas.

Is Chris Bosh a possibility? I heard some analysts say to watch for it Isnt Bosh almost dead or something ?? The Miami Heat doctors failed his most recent physical and he wanted a second opinion. He found his own set of doctors to administer the same physical and he failed that one as well. I doubt he ever plays another NBA game. I know he wants to play but blood clots are bad news. Retirement is a lot better than dying on the court.

Cavs has the Wine and Gold Scrimmage yesterday. You can catch some of the highlights here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzOC1ELKQkIFrom my own perspective: I thought a lot of the new guys looked really good. Dunleavy was raining threes. Kay Felder looks like he can be dangerous and get assists on offense. Some of the D-Leaguers looked more viable than a lot of the guys we've had riding the bench the last few years. Kevin Love looks a lot more relaxed than he was previously.
