The IRS already said that he can show his tax returns no matter if he's being audited or not.
And I feel you bro. Just cause someone is being audited means nothing. Billionaires get audited on the regular, just comes with the territory.
And that's why I said before: if you don't want to release your tax returns simply because you don't want to, just say that. Sure, people will continue to speculate, but at the end of the day, all they can do is be mad.
But when you start coming up with weak ass excuses as to why you won't release them, then it makes you look shady as all hell.

Based off of polls, I think Trump wins Florida and Ohio. However, I think Hillary wins Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Virginia. I think Hillary also holds on to all blue states. Michigan and Wisconsin are becoming essentially blue dominated states. This will be a very close race. I'm talking 272-266 type of close.
I'll wait for the standard response of "well, my buddies in Wisconsin and Michigan (probably white males, which I've said Trump owns this demographic) have said they're voting Trump!"

Trump can literally say and do whatever the hell he wants and it's okay. Here's what happens when you call that stuff out:
1. You get labeled as a biased liberal. 2. You get labeled as too PC. 3. You get a deflection tactic of "LOOK AT WHAT HILLARY DID!"

On behalf of all Canadians, please....just finish it up. The length of the campaign process in the US is ridiculous and it turns the media world into a cesspool of mudslinging and exhaustive commentary.
Oh..and if it could not be Trump, that'd be super.

isn't y'all campaign time something like no more than 3-6 months or something like this?
thats about the standard around the world.
i think we're the only country that turns the election cycle into a full length season on TV.

There's actually no precise timeframe but it typically runs for about 2 months. Only limitation is that its supposed to be at least 36 days.
2 months doesn't even clear primaries for the US.

Read something that I've felt for awhile about coal mining and other jobs similar to it. But can Trump save the coal miners? Well, coal mining isn’t the big employer it once was, nor will it ever be again. This is mainly due to technology and market forces more than anything else, and that includes clean air laws. Mountaintop removal mining, an odious process that literally destroys the gorgeous mountains of the “Mountain State” requires fewer miners to meet production goals. It once took hundreds of men to work a mine; it now takes about a dozen or so.
The state would need to see an explosion of new mining sites and coal companies would need to return to old labor-intensive (and hazardous) mining practices to recover all those lost mining jobs, neither of which is going to happen. These jobs aren't coming back. Unless you guys think Trump will magically create mountains and force companies to stop using machines.

Yep. That's the reality now skill jobs are the ones most likely to die and/or get replaced by robots.
That's why I laugh at the McDonald's workers wanting 15 an hour. In Germany I was already ordering my food inside from a machine back in 2010.
It's only a matter of time before it happens here in the US large scale. It's already happening in certain places, btw.
Industries die, and industries rise.
Either adapt, or die off.

candyman92, it's no secret that the politics of the overwhelming majority of this board fall inside the GOP camp. SInce most are blue collar on here, I don't get it either but that's the way it is.
So, sure you are going to get those reactions when you post something counter to their thinking. And try as you may, you will probably never be able to reach most with any sort of reasoning simply because your political leanings are to the left.
Welcome to hell.

Oh..and if it could not be Trump, that'd be super. I don't think I know anyone that wouldn't prefer the length of the campaign process to be cut to 6 months. But in this day and age, I'm not sure that can be accomplished. What would help is if we could appoint a commission of some type that would independently investigate the charges that candidates make against either other. If they find it to be a lie, some punishment needs presented. No more PAC's. No More independent groups pushing for one thing or another. No more stupid stuff on Facebook that just lies. I mean BIG HUGE lies. Both parties are guilty of that one. That might be a good start, but I'm not holding my breathe

I don't think he said that.
But I certainly did. And come the debates, it's gonna happen.
You better pray your boy is prepping hard for these debates. Cause if sounds like anything we've heard on the campaign trail, it's gonna be so ugly that I MIGHT actually start feeling bad for you.
If trump wants to make this a close campaign at the LEAST, never mind win, then he better show up as the man, and hit Hillary with straight up fire.
I can't wait for the first debate.

As somebody who decided a few weeks ago that he just doesn't have a dog in this race anymore... I think it's sad that one of these two people will be the next POTUS and even more sad watching friends and family argue over which one it should be.
Neither will be good for us.
I still don't want Trump in no matter what.
I also believe that Hillary is really sick. President Tim Kaine? OMG
Not to mention that I agree that Hillary is crooked.
In the past at least we could choose the worst of two evils, there is just no choice here and a very small fraction of Americans will side with one or the other and determine who will lead while the majority stays home and tunes out. Sad for America.

Surprised no one has talked about Colin Powell's emails getting hacked and released. Was that part of Guccifer 2.0's recent hack? I did see part of that and one article about Colin Powell having some negative things to say about both Trump and Hillary (probably worse things about Trump though). There was a lot of other interesting stuff too, like stuff that expands on the "pay to play" shenanigans when Hillary was in office. I'm going to look through it some more later.

Not here though. We need those ratings.

Colin Powell, in Hacked Email, Calls Trump ‘National Disgrace’ WASHINGTON — Former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, who served as President George W. Bush’s top diplomat, derided Donald J. Trump as a “national disgrace” and an “international pariah” in personal email exchanges that were leaked online Tuesday. In the emails, reported by BuzzFeed News, Mr. Powell also accuses Mr. Trump, the Republican nominee for president, of having embraced what Mr. Powell called a “racist” movement when he questioned the validity of President Obama’s birth certificate. An aide to Mr. Powell confirmed the hack and said, “They are his emails.” “Yup, the whole birther movement was racist,” Mr. Powell wrote in an email to a former aide, according to BuzzFeed. “That’s what the 99% believe. When Trump couldn’t keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim. As I have said before, ‘What if he was?’ Muslims are born as Americans everyday.” Mr. Powell’s emails appeared online at a website called DCLeaks.com, according to BuzzFeed. The site has previously posted documents from hacking into prominent Democrats and some Republicans, according to news reports. In July, The Intercept reported on emails leaked to the site from Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, the former commander of NATO forces in Europe. An aide to Mr. Powell, a retired general who also served as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, responded Wednesday morning to an inquiry about the emails: “We are confirming that General Powell has been hacked and that they are his emails. We have no further comment at this time.” Mr. Powell did not respond to an email sent directly to his personal account. In a separate leaked email exchange reported by NBC News, Mr. Powell also criticized aides to Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for president, for their attempts to “drag me in” to the controversies surrounding her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state. In that email, Mr. Powell lamented that he had repeatedly told Mrs. Clinton’s “minions” that they are “making a mistake trying to drag me in, yet they still try.” In her interview with the F.B.I. into the use of the email server, Mrs. Clinton told investigators that Mr. Powell had advised her to use a personal email account, according to notes of the interview disclosed to members of Congress by the bureau last month. The Associated Press reported that in another leaked email, Mr. Powell, using Mrs. Clinton’s initials, wrote that “Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris.” http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/15/us/politics/colin-powell-emails-hack-donald-trump.html?_r=0Both of these candidates suck. It's funny reading a thread about how one sucks less than the other.

Actually, I think I've said and it's a fair statement: Trump is facing a uphill battle. It had nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with the battle the GOP had ahead of themselves. Obama really laid waste to Romney on the electoral map. Dems have locked up major blue states which will make it difficult for Repubs to win. Trump has to keep his read states, win Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina. Yet he still might not win.

Sad for America. Boy do I feel your pain.. man we don't have a reasonable choice in this race. Even Johnson isn't exactly a winner either, not that he had a chance at all. I don't know if Hillary is really sick, I hope not, I don't wish that on anyone of course. But if she is, she should pull out. Trump should be disqualified if for no other reasons that his crooked business dealings. Man is that ever coming out now. Not that it wasn't already known. No matter what happens, this country is in a pickle. Best thing that could happen is that both lead candidates get disqualified in some way, then the Reps could run Ryan and the Dems could run either Sanders or Biden.. That way, no matter what, I think we end up with a good human being. Flawed sure, but at least a decent person.

Gary Johnson’s education ideasBy MICHAEL STRATFORD 09/14/16 10:00 AM EDT With help from Mel Leonor, Caitlin Emma, Kimberly Hefling and Benjamin Wermund GARY JOHNSON’S EDUCATION IDEAS: The Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson is selling himself as the golden alternative in an election year of unpopular major-party presidential candidates. Double-digit poll numbers and a couple of newspaper endorsements have brought unprecedented attention to the former governor of New Mexico — a self-professed “fringe” candidate campaigning on a platform of small government and social liberalism. On education, Johnson’s most popular proposal is to disband the Department of Education entirely. POLITICO’s Mel Leonor caught up with Johnson to talk about his education proposals and the Libertarian ideal for American schools: http://politico.pro/2c85QJC— We asked Johnson what the federal government's role is in public education. “I don’t see one,” he responded. The third-party candidate, who strongly supported universal vouchers in New Mexico, is a backer of full-blown school choice, which he believes would kick-start competition and, in turn, drive better performance. “I do think ultimately it would be the end of traditional public schools and that would be for the better. Public schools are not going to go away, but they are going to embrace the innovation that would occur if students had a choice.” On the student debt crisis, Johnson backs a federal investment to refinance existing debt at lower interest rates to relieve students hurt by a crisis “caused” by the federal government: “If there were no guaranteed government student loans, higher education would be much more affordable.” http://www.politico.com/tipsheets/morning-education/2016/09/gary-johnsons-education-ideas-216320

In fairness, you should quote his/her entire comment: It is my sincere hope that as President, Trump will be the one to finally solve America's Black problem.
Now, that doesn't clarify exactly what he meant, I know. But when I read YOUR quote, I took it as what you are hinting at. When I read his original quote/post, I didn't take it that way at all.

It is my sincere hope that as President, Trump will be the one to finally solve America's Black problem. Hmmm, wife yelled to order Chinese for dinner so I posted what I had at the time. Ordered, set the table and ate. First to answer some questions that came up... Yes, as a person of Scottish heritage, I am a proud member of my Clan. We have a President, castle, tartan and lands in Scotland. Second, I meant to say "In the Black" problem. Everything in America is currently in the Red, our Budget, National Debt, Pensions etc... It is my hope that Trump can at least turn the corner on this problem to get us back in the Black. Our house needs to be built on Rock to fix all the other problems in our land and not on sand. And Third, yes, I hope his solutions are Final.

j/c Here is a quote from swish in the previous thread - about Trump and his military deferment: I wish y'all would spend the same amount of time on trump draft deferments for 'health' reasons as y'all did Hillarys health. And then we have this article:https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/09/14/hillary-clintons-story-of-a-vietnam-era-confrontation-over-law-school-admissions/ Allow me to highlight one paragraph from said article: • Bill Clinton was deemed eligible for induction when he neared graduation from Georgetown University in 1968. But then he went to Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar. His induction notice arrived in April 1969, too late for him to join. He then received a deferment because he committed to join the ROTC program at the University of Arkansas — and then gave up that deferment when he got a high lottery number. He then entered Yale Law School, where he met his future wife. So, Bill was eligible to be drafted, but he got a deferment because he promised to join the ROTC. Okay. Then, when he got a high draft number, he gave up the ROTC program at Arkansas and entered Yale. Weird.
