as per espn.com
The Redskins lost practice squad center Austin Reiter to the Browns when they signed him to their active roster Tuesday, a source said. Reiter, a seventh-round pick in 2015, spent most of last season on the Redskins' practice squad. He was released by the Redskins on Sept. 13, only to be re-signed to the practice squad.

Let's just hope Greco isn't god awful at C I remember him playing decently at Center when Mack went down in 2014. Mack went down in the game vs the Steelers where we actually dominated the game. On the very next snap after Mack broke his leg, the Steelers did an A-Gap blitz, obviously to test out Greco's effectiveness. He picked it up nicely. I remember he had to switch back to RG because that other dude we signed from the Seahawks was just horrific. That's when McDonald/Seymour started filling in at center I believe. Here's hoping...

He failed a physical and considered retirement a month ago. Maybe his head's not really in it.

Thanks for the info ddub.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Reiter...I remember that name, he was one of my deep sleepers for the 2015 draft. FWIW: https://www.dawgtalkers.net/ubbthreads.php/topics/919157/6Speaking of deep sleepers: two guys that impressed me when I actually watched others (those finds are always "interesting"): watching NT Terry Williams, I was impressed with South Florida's center. Only OL I saw who could handle him. Smart guy knew he couldn't beat him with strength, so he used his brain. Sure enough, he is draft eligible, Austin Reiter is his name, he's currently 25th C on cbs and 794 overall. UDFA Watching PJ Williams, I came away more impressed with his CB mate Ronald Darby, who too entered the draft as a JR. He's 127th on cbs. After "hitting" on EJ Gaines as the mid round sleeper to have last draft after watching him shut down Evans, I feel really confident to pimp guys who jump out on tape while watching others. J.Harrison, who started at C as an UDFA rook for the Colts, was another guy I remember from last draft.

Suh isn't the beast he once was or has the potential of being but, I hope Greco can contain him.

I think our line got better with the move of Greco. Not sure about Bailey...guess we find out in 3 hours, but to me it is better to be weak at a guard spot over being weak at center.

In theory Bailey and Greco should make it stronger. Erving has played ok at times but, his mistakes are well documented. I would think Bailey is a better option than the guard who played for us last time Greco was at center.

I would prefer the combo of Erving and Greco more than Greco and Bailey. I don't think Greco is that far above an upgrade to Erving and Greco is a better option than Bailey at RG-- at least that presumed to be the case since he's starting over him.
I also recall (perhaps incorrectly) Greco struggling some at Center last year in the limited time he played there. Perhaps that's unfair because anyone taking over for Mack's long term production isn't going to be compared favorably.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Was it Greco who struggled or was it his replacement at guard (know idea who it was...just another no namer starting for the Browns)?
I seem to remember that year we also had a revolving door at center. Somebody in here said it best during the game against Tampa...(paraphrasing) ".............. (insert name of random starting center here) looked like he was a kid on a moped getting hit by a semi".

We did have a revolving door.
Maybe I'm thinking when Greco played Center in 2014, but I thought he played there last year too. I'll try to look it up.

Given Alvin Bailey's arrest I am expecting Reiter will start against his old team on Sunday and Greco will be back to guard.

That's how I remember it as well. It wasn't that Greco was bad, but the disruption to 2 spots was too much.

Hue Jackson [kind of] said that Erving would get back his starting job when he's healthy. http://www.ohio.com/sports/browns/browns...d-lung-1.718269Will Erving start at center again when healthy? “We’ll see,” coach Hue Jackson replied. “I mean more than likely, yes. That’s where he’s played, and that’s where he’s coming back to get ready to go.”
