A player tweaks a hammy, he's held out for weeks. I have to think if K'Waun reports to the medical staff that he's suffering from severe pain in his ankle, he's not cleared to play until a thorough evaluation is completed. He scratched himself from the game. Do we assume the medical staff ignored his protests about the pain level in his ankle? He failed to show up then next day. You have to wonder what he was thinking. If you're right and the medical staff simply ignored his protests, or told him there was nothing wrong with the ankle, then they have a serious problem with their evaluators. There must be much more to this than we know.

At this point I don't think we will ever know the full story. He is disputing money he feels he is owed. Also, he will be wanting to discredit any notion that he is potentially bothered by the evaluation process and Taylor possibly beating him at camp. Once agents and lawyers are involved it gets messy for both sides. My thought is...this will not end well and the media are going to enjoy stirring the pot for as many articles and headlines as they can.

I also wont be surprised if he is released once the 53 man squad is announced. Mainly because there is probably bad blood and how will they ever know if he is 100% buying into the system after all this? Not to mention his injury issues. He has never played 16 games...he is one or two concussions away from retirement and he is (apparently) being beaten out in camp. All of this adds up to me that he will be gone.

But, we will see. This noisy drama really does not interest me. Yes, I really liked K'Waun but, if he isn't on the team once the 53 man is announced...I wont be bummed out like I was with Skrine's departure. I just don't see his absence impacting us THAT much. Especially with Taylor apparently doing so well in camp.

without knowing all of the details, I'd assume both parties have levels of blame here ... and the relationship is probably irreparable

I am not surprised folks are absolving the team and putting the blame on Williams. It's what you guys do.

I do want to say that Williams was previously lauded for his work ethic and film study. People are saying things like he is throwing a tantrum and not a team guy. Please!

Do any of you remember when Gilber made his infamous quote a couple of years ago about he would rather sleep than study. The guy who he was being compared to was Williams, who was known to spend countless hours studying and trying to improve his craft.

I'm still guessing the ankle was previously sore, but he did something stupid to exacerbate it. The team may have even not started him because they wanted to cut back his reps because of the "injury". However, when he saw he wasn't starting, he got upset and went and kicked his locker and hurt himself more severely. It sounds like something that would happen to the Browns to me. Smh.

I am not saying he threw a tantrum nor am I saying he didn't. Neither you nor I know the full story. Only K'Waun and coaches do. All we know are based on the various stories being reported. We (us fans) think, make assumptions, opinion and comment based on what news is in front of us. It's not court and it's not front office or coaching decisions. It is a football board where people talk football. Nothing more, nothing less.

Bard said the tantrum thing. I wasn't only addressing you. I said folks. That is MORE than one.

Look man, if it is okay for you guys to trash Williams, why is not okay for me to support him? Like you said, it is a message board.

I don't think I trashed Williams at all. Not once. Only thing I said was he is injury prone. I think that is fairly well known and a fact. Comments about whether he was grumpy or not were made based on various reports circulating the media. That's not trashing the dude. In fact, I have said in both my comments I really like K'Waun.

So factor in Desmond Bryant's situation, I wonder what the real deal is going on with our players and our front office?

If players feel the front office is not on their side, I'd sense that would damper the new environment that coach Hue is trying to implement?

Or, the players are trying to pull things they got away with with other staffs and etc, but realizing the same sorta jazz isn't being tolerated here?

Idk, but it sucks we have to think/wonder about it.

I read something about Bryant, and it seems like he wants an injury settlement.

That way he gets paid, but if he recovers from his injury this year, he might even be able to find a job with a contender.

I don't think that it is as some have supposed, where the Browns are punishing him for getting hurt.

Let me preface, I like this FO but it seems to me they like to shoot, ready, aim.

They seem to react before they have all the facts or have allowed the situition to play out; Schwartz was example of that and so is this.

Sometimes one needs to step back and garner more facts before dropping the hammer

J/C: (and I like K'Waun as a player)

His situation was really weird. My 2nd link says that Williams had decided to wait till after the season to have surgery. The whole situation is just bizarre.

Browns CB K’Waun Williams Appeals Suspension After Being Told He Needs Ankle Surgery
http://deadspin.com/browns-cb-k-waun-williams-appeals-suspension-after-bein-1785467859

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, there were conflicting stories about whether Williams informed the team of his injury:

The Browns suspended Williams and fined him for “for multiple violations of team rules” after he refused to play the full game in Green Bay. He also told the club he was retiring and didn’t cite the ankle as a reason, a source told cleveland.com.

The next day, he rescinded his retirement plans and informed the club he didn’t want to play because of the ankle.

But a source close to Williams said the nickelback informed the Browns Friday night in Green Bay that he couldn’t take on a full load of work because of the sore ankle.

Bears claim former Browns CB K’Waun Williams - Dawgs By Nature
http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2016/8/30/12718178/bears-claim-former-browns-cb-k-waun-williams

Other reports say that the acquisition is contingent on Williams passing his physical with the Bears. That’s not always a requirement — remember that the Browns claimed running back Robert Turbin off waivers from the Seahawks last year, despite the fact that he was coming back from an ankle injury. But, how would Williams be able to pass his physical if it was suggested two weeks ago that he receive surgery to remove bone spurs in his foot?

According to the Scout.com page that covers the Bears, Williams has decided to defer the surgery until after the season and got a cortisone shot last week instead. If he’s able to practice right away, he could even suit up for the fourth preseason game against Cleveland.

See, I had this mindset when I thought it was just paying for his surgery. Just pay the trivial amount, right or wrong, and each party go about their separate ways.

But, and I don't even know what he'd make - but to pay his full salary for 2016 too?

it's tough to know what to think without actually knowing all of the details. Only Kwaun and the FO know how this went down

Haslam has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he is a SCUMBAG and POC human being ... He cares about nothing but himself and money ... His business is all the proof u need and this is just another example of how he treats people ...

But some will defend him no mater what ... And this right here proves it ..

Thre's NO WIGGLE ROOM HERE .. Yet people either IGNORE, MANIPULATE or simply refuse to acknowledge what ACTUALLY HAPPEND here ... Look at the time line and what HAPPEND and what came out at the different timing points of the "event" .. ZERO WIGGLE ROOM ...

Look what one Menza said ... "He didn't show up for work" .. Ya .. He had BONE SPURS ON HIS CHINS .. And he couldn't play in a FOOTBALL GAME WITH THEM ... What a useless wuss ... notallthere

That's like saying he's got a 106 degree temp and it's coming out of both ends but the LAZY JERK blew work off ..

Sad part is .. In 2 or 3 years when this thing blows up .. The same folks defending every move this sad sad man makes will be mean as hell to him ...

PS. I'm not being mean I'm being TRUTHFUL ... smile ..

That "Menza" was me. Also, I've never heard of someone having bone spurs on their chin.

Furthermore, even if a player is injured, he is still required to show up for treatment.

I love when someone calls another person out for being stupid, but then has all sorts of inaccuracies in their post. It's the best.
