I turn 21 today, woo!

This got me to thinking - share your stories of your 21st - what you can remember and keep them board appropriate.

I'll be at Slim and Chubby's tonight in Strongsville at 9 if any of you want to buy me a drink!

Happy BDay !!!

I don't recall what I did, but probably nothing all that special.

Being able to drink didn't mean much to me, since I could drink or not drink and it wouldn't make a difference.

Happy Birthday do you...

On my 21st Bday, I went to a Pennsylvania Liquir Store (back then, they were all controlled and owned by the state) where I got a picture ID showing I was 21 years old.

It was called a PLCB card. Pa Liquir Control Board.. (man I'm drawing a complete blank on spelling today)

Then I went home and did basically nothing...

Boring old me!

Congrats! Head about a half mile up the road to Dapper Dans and I'll buy ya a drink.

Instead of allowing friends to pour shot after shot down my throat at a bar, I invited everyone over my (very large) college apartment and had some kegs - about 60-70 people, stayed up until 5am drinking, headed to Pizza King for breakfast, and slept the next 15-16 hours.

Happy Bday

I went out with a bunch of freinds I no longer consider my friends and got sooooo drunk that I told the girl I had been best friends with for years that I loved her (huge misake I will never stop regretting), needless to say she didn't return the sentiment and our friendship has never been the same. She later explained that she basically chalked it up to drunk talk, but that me living hundreds of miles away it would never have worked (stupid woman and their solid reasoning skills LOL)

After she left I got beat up by a bouncer at Mccarthy's in lakewood (or at least I thought he was a bouncer).

Woke up with a bloody lip and a HUGE headache. Not to mention the embarassment of people telling me what I did the next day.

ahhhh to be 21 again...LOL

I had a fake ID which hadn't ever been questioned and I had gone in and out of bars for 2 or 3 years with no problem by the time I turned 21... so it wasn't all that big of a deal. In fact, on my 21st birthday when I could have used my real license, the first time I was asked I pulled the fake one from habit....

As for what we did.. hmmmm... there were 4 of us who were friends and our birthdays were all within 2 weeks of each other so we went out and got drunk... not unlike every week for the 3 years preceeding that...

Happy Birthday!

On my 21st, I was deployed onboard the USS Saratoga (CV-60), spent most of the day on the flight deck launching/recovering jets. No booze for me

I was in college at OU in Athens. I had some friends down from home, and we partied at the apt. then hit Court Street. I barely remember my roommate, drunk, walking his white lab rat on a leash, trying to pick up girls on the street.

Me... I was trying to convince the girls who lived next door, to sleep with me. I woke up the next morning, on the floor, next to my bed, fully dressed, with a hangover. Apparently, I was unsuccessful with the neighbors and passed out, alone. Whenever I asked them about the night they would only smile and laugh about it... then tell me if I couldn't remember it, they weren't going to discuss it with me...LOL

Ha, I turned 21 on the USS Forest Sherman ( DD931) in the middle of the Med sea. No booze for me either.

I was at Kent State at the time. My birthday was on a Thursday during the summer, and I didn't have class the next day, so we all went out.

It was a pretty good group of people (we had a pretty large group of friends). We first went to the 11th frame lounge, this bar at a bowling alley near us. We were the only ones there. We drank big beers out of bottles shaped like bowling pins and did a few too many shots. By the time we left, my good buddy Vince, my buddy Jay's girlfriend Tammy and I were shampippled to the bejesus belt.

From there, we went to this dive in Kent called the Tavern. We didn't know it was karaoke night. Vince had the bartender make a custom drink called a Tuckman (1/2 Captain Morgan, 1/4 Parrot Bay, 1/4 orange juice). I was pretty hammered, so I was talking to my other buddy while Vince got the Tuckman. Little did I know that he had the lady pour it in a big glass, and she said it was free if I chugged it. He told me I had to chug it, so I did. That really got me going.

For whatever reason, I remember this next part with amazing clarity. The DJ said "we still have some time for people to come up and sing and not many slips in, so if you want to sing something, come on up!" So, Vince and I put in "18 & Life" by Skid Row. We walked up, gave the guy the slip, he looked at it, and he said over the mic "ok folks, that's all the time we have for tonight! Thanks!" and started packing up his gear! Being hammered, we started ranting and raving. Luckily our other friends got us out of there.

When we got back to our house on Lincoln St., Vince and I started throwing lawn furniture at each other (all the while drinking more). Then, a big group of us got on our roof and drank some more (good idea).

After everyone went to bed, I went into this girl's room who was sub-leasing from one of our other roommates during the summer. She was a really nice girl and we all liked her, but talk about someone who was beaten with the ugly stick. This girl looked like she had been bludgeoned within an inch of her life.

Well, I go in there, she and I are talking, and I start passing out on the couch in her room. The next thing I know, I wake up, and she's standing there in just a t-shirt, looking at me seductively (I'm leaving out a few of the dirtier parts for board purposes). I bolted upstairs to my room, closed the door and locked it behind me and promptly passed out on the bed with my shirt offf and my jeans down around my ankles, with my shoes still on. I ended up waking up later in the night and got into my sleeping clothes.

I woke up the next morning with no hangover whatsoever, which was amazing considering the amount of alcohol we all drank. We left that morning for Windsor with some friends and partied like rock stars up there for the whole weekend.

It was a great time.

Well lets see ... I think I turned 21 on a Sunday, and we had a 6 hour drive that day, so I had to do all my drinking the night before. Too bad I had to work.

Fortunatly for me, I worked security at a bar. So when 1:00 rolled around, I asked the manager if I could get off early to "celebrate" and he let me off. I changed and came back into the bar, and everyone I worked with as well as a couple of the bar regulars bought me a drink or a shot. After pounding a bunch of those ... I remembered that I had to get home somehow, so I ended up riding my bike 2 miles on a sidewalk to get back to my apartment. Somehow I made it (I'm a pretty good drunk cyclist!)

By then the booze was really starting to kick in, so I walked to a nearby Jack in the box to try and get some food. By the time I got there, I told myself I was too drunk to order food, so I walked back home. When I got there, me roommate was telling me that her bike had been stolen, but couldn't stop giggling at me because I kept rambling on.

Eventually, I got sick and hung out by the toilet before I passed out and woke up back in bed. The 6 hour drive the next morning sure sucked!

I was at Kent and my birthday fell during finals week. I spent my birthday in a study group, prepping for a juvenile delinquency final the next morning at 7:45 AM. Not nearly the stories that some have...

It was June 12, 1982. I had just got off of work from my all nighter at the local Lawson's store. I walked about 2 miles to the bar across the street from one of my childhood homes (The Stop Inn, still there, but for sale), walked in and ordered a Stroh's beer. Just like in the old T.V. commercial, the bartender asked to see my ID, saw it was my 21st, and I got the first one on the house. I got a ride home later that morning, some of the regulars there also twisted my arm and got me to do some shots.

jc... Happy Birthday, tyke! I hope you have/are having/had fun... depending on when you read this.... BE SAFE!

My 21st was a bust. A girl threw me a party with all HER friends.. we all got trashed off Captain Morgan's. Apparantly, I caught the rogue pirate disease and started getting snarky with all the ship mates. I had to walk the plank, so to speak. Bad night.

When I was 21... I drank with some friends that night but not enough to get smashed. I drank enough to get a buzz and then laid off it. I never saw the point of getting loaded like that... but that's what I did when I turned 21. Happy B Day Viper

I was in Laos on my 21st B-day. I was in the Army (1993) doing search and recovery missions. They flew in a cake from Vientienne, and maybe 8 other service members stayed up for hours drinking Lao beer and Thai whiskey. I got to sleep in the next day but the other 8 had to get up early and go digging. When We got back to Thailand, I drank for free the first night in country cause it was still close to my B-day.

LOL. Looks like you've been drinking with 123.

I spent my 21st with my friends in their apartment on Union St. in Athens, right above Art Appocalypse. I was the 2nd of my friends to turn 21, so we just hung out at their place and chilled.

On my 21st birthday, I consumed Miller Lite's (had to be at least 20) and tequila shots in Andre the Giant-like proportions (I'm a big guy). I was double-fisting the Miller Lite's & downing them like shots. We started out at Jimmy's in the Flats and worked our way over to a club at the mall in North Olmsted. The place was near Dunham's Sporting Goods, but the name escapes me (this was in 1988). I was so obliterated that I passed out in a bathroom stall and had to ride out of the bar on my buddy Alfie's lap (he's in a wheelchair) carrying a "throwup" bucket in each hand (I didn't throw up, surprisingly, through the whole ordeal).

That night I was in such pain, I prayed for death & swore to never drink again if I lived. I woke up the next day not knowing how I got my contact lenses out & finding one in my gym bag? Two weeks later, I was back on the horse, back at that same bar only to be greeted by a chorus of..."we remember you, you're Bucket Boy".

I was in the hospital recovering from surgery, not that it matters much though I don't drink anyways, I get my buzz off life.

Personally I think they should raise the drinking age, kids today are not responsible enough to handle alcohol, their still to busy living off mommy and daddys money.

Actually, I only vaguely remember that I went to Kroger's to buy my own alcohol and some kid that was CLEARLY under 21 asked me to buy his beer for him. As I'm holding my wine coolers (or whatever), I tell him I'm not old enough to buy alcohol. Walk to check out and buy my drinks. After that...couldn't tell ya what I did.

I was a barback---working at a bar. After we closed, we sat around and drank until the sun came up. Then, around 7am, I made the hour long drive home, completely wasted, blending in with morning traffic on 77, 480, and 422. My coworkers thought I was completely insane after that.
