So many exciting things to watch for in this game, not the least of which is the progress and development of Kessler. I have very little expectation of him being the solution at QB. But never say never, and he did well for a rookie thrown into a starting role last week. Funny how he had similar (or better) stats to Dak Prescot's first start and Went'z first start ... Siemien too???? And yet he got very little love .... and all the others were lauded as the second coming. That is an exaggeration and there is more to playing qb other than just raw stats. Things like poise, reads, calls, accuracy, and arm strength need to be considered, as well.

Agreed, losing is a habit that must be nipped in the bud. Can't do it without talent. Too many of ours have either been cut, traded away, or passed up on for more and future picks, are sitting on the sidelines injured, or on IR, are facing suspension, or are in rehab about to be cut. This doesn't include the bevy of failed picks and future failed picks and acquisitions that are on the team right now. And you can believe there are some. So maybe at some point in the distant future, the losing habit will be "nipped in the bud", but it's not happening this week. Not this year. And I doubt it happens next year. This is the week Cousins goes off and Kessler gets obliterated behind a decimated O-line. Browns 10 Skins 31

Things like poise, reads, calls, accuracy, and arm strength need to be considered, as well. It's not an exaggeration - I didn't state he played as well as the other QB's. The reason I didn't say that he played as well as the others is because of the other factors you mentioned, which are all significant to be sure. Wentz has looked like anything but a rookie - so that comparison is moot. That said - I think the Eagles and Dallas and especially Denver are all better teams than the Browns, so who is to say how much better Kessler would look on one of those teams and what his W/L record would have been, but I've 25 cents that says it would not be 0-3 Wentz is clearly light years ahead of Kessler and any other QB in this draft, he's also light years ahead of perhaps half the other QB's in the NFL. If you were starting a new roster - I'd take Wentz ahead of probably all but a handful based on what we have seen so far. With Dak and Siemien ... i'd say it's closer than most would assume based on a first start comparison and taking into account the differential in overall team ability. What Kessler does in games 2, 3, 4 and more .... that's what is going to be interesting.

We had the second overall pick last year and ended up w/a WR who can't stay healthy while a true franchise qb is flourishing w/the team we traded with His hand got broke when someone landed on it. That's not exactly a guy who "can't stay healthy" It's not like he missed 8 games his last year in college and watched his team win all of them..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I thought he was injured in camp, too? I also thought he had a history of soft-tissue injuries?

So I have $75 on the Browns this week with the Moneyline at 3.75.
The Browns only have to win 27% of the time to make that a good bet. I am hoping this is the week we get in the W column.

I think the pros/cons of both teams evens out well and because their run defense isn't good we will see Crow and Duke running a lot. Maybe even M.Johnson getting in on the fun. Their WR's are good and our secondary isn't but, I am hopeful Horton is able to get pressure on the QB to help our secondary out.
Browns win by 6
PS: what's the skinny on our center/guard situation? Is Reiter playing and Greco back to guard? Is Bailey playing?

Browns 27 Redskins 23 The moneyline is 3.75. So if the Browns win the game. I win 3.75 x 75 or $281.25. The moneyline is basically saying that the Browns win this game 26.67% of the time (1/3.75). So... if I think the Browns win more than 27% of the time on Sunday, I should make that bet. Make sense?

As a Redskins fan I'm more worried about this game then the rest of Burgundy and Gold nation.
Browns should be able to run and pass against the Redskins with little resistance.
However, the Redskins will be able to pass the ball on the Browns.
This is gonna be a real test for Ray Horton, if Haden is 100% I think the Browns secondary is better then its get credit for being.
The real test will be how Ray plays his coverage? Single high S in an effort to stop the run? OR heavy snaps of 2 deep S bend but don't break?
Playing hard against the run early is an easy way to get Jay Gruden to give up on the run and become 1 dimensional, but it also leaves the secondary and the pass rush in danger of a quick strike score or several big plays.
Playing a lot of cover 2 leaves them vulnerable to the run and could otherwise encourage a pass happy coach like Jay Gruden to stick with it if they have success.
If I were DC i would lean towards trying to stop the run while playing 2 deep safeties.
Whatever pass rush the Browns can muster it will go a long way to winning this game, I'm pretty sure Paea will be playing with his hair on fire
My money will be on the Browns +7.5.

I won't pick a score but I see us getting our 1st W, we could have easily been 3-1 after this one if it weren't for PENALTIES and HORRIBLE KICKING ... JMHO Could have been 3-1 after 3 games? OH, after this one, (have been), it's yet to be played. (I understand) Hey if there were a way to be 0-5 at the completion of 4 games I believe the Browns would find that way. FINALY A WINNABLE GAME! and with the added motivation of RG3 getting back at his former team, We're in for a good day, I expect the Browns to come out swinging early. Big lead by the Browns, big comeback by the Redskins. Clevland does what they do best. That's the expectation, Browns lose, but RG3 isn't playing. (for either) Curt Cousins is the Redskins qb, and he looked AWFUL last time I checked. This may be the Browns best chance to flip the script, and win one. But I'm not going to diverge with the "expectation" of loss for the 29 remaining of the 0-32 I said after the roster and coaching tear down and rebuild of the 15-16 offseason. Browns win, on the way to 2-14 and the number 2 pick? maybe.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I say the Redskins will win by 9.
37-28 Redskins
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
