It's really scary that the, "Law and order" candidate gets such vehement support for him playing the American people because it's "legal". It makes me scared to think that law can still trump morality, even though Nazi Germay and the American Slave trade shows us how dangerous this thinking is.

I would add that Trump's ad libbing style will shine IF he can avoid saying anything too controversial, lol. I think he's figured that out now.
My point was more that he is so much better at regular interactions with people than Hillary. He's a better and more passionate speaker. I think he connects with people better. He only connects with trump supporters. There isn't enough of y'all to win. He certainly doesn't connect with me or the majority. It seems like he connects with enough people that in about one year, he has gone from a joke candidate that hardly anybody took seriously, to drawing many thousands of people at a typical rally, which is about what Hillary will draw in a month's worth of rallies. He is polling even or close to even with Hillary despite Trump spending very little on advertising while the Clinton camp runs hit piece after hit piece. As far as the election goes, we'll see what happens. I think it could go either way. I'm not going to make any predictions on that right now.

Wait, Hillary's now a lesbian decrepit liar lizard people? What other hyperbolic adjective, with no factual backing, did I miss? I know, right? Where will the witch hunt go next? Oh, and Eve...even if this slanderous comment were true, WHO CARES? Does that make her unsuitable for President? If you say you don't care & answer no to the second question then drop it. If you answer "yes" then wake up...it is the 21st century. I don't think she's a lesbian, she's just head a headache since 1979.

And even still, she didn't gain that much in the polls. It's unclear if those gains will even last-- I have a hard time believing that six weeks from now, many people are going to change their vote because Trump talked over the moderator. And I have a hard time believing that the results will be similar in a more impromptu Town Hall style debate, where Trump's ad libbing will shine and Hillary can't prepare her answers as much ahead of time. If the 18-24 year olds show up to vote, especially those who are students AND a decent proportion of Bernie supporters vote for her...Trump is toast. The youth vote is going to be huge because we saw what happened in Britain when they didn't turn up on voting day. Gary Johnson continues to look clueless so he will most likely be a non-contender. Anyway, his votes will most likely be Republicans who don't want to vote for Trump. Yeah, motivating the base is a huge factor in any of these elections. Sometimes we talk about "not alienating the moderates", and that is important and I parrot that idea from time to time, but getting the actual base to get out there and vote is arguably even more important. Hillary needs millennials to vote, Trump needs disenfranchised workers to vote, etc etc.

The marital issues of both candidates are not the business of the public.
What is our business is a fake politician who claims to be the champion of women...and as a woman that's funny.......and then turns and attempts to destroy those women who had affairs with and were raped by her husband. Is this the behavior of a champion of women?
This demonstrates her readiness to do anything to protect herself and her interests.
I mean really, these women were assaulted and some were raped and Steel Dragon berates, name calls and defames them using her own political platform as a bullhorn. This is and always was shameful and it speaks to poor character and judgement of people.
Saying that all women should be believed when alleging assaults....oh wait....unless the assault is perpetrated by her husband.
This conversation is relevant only in the respect that she touts herself champion of women with little past accomplishments to back it up.
Not to mention her connection to Saudia Arabia and treatment of women there. But that's a conversation for another thread.

but i thought he was the best candidate out of the two?
man how the tables turn so quickly. Johnson, as I said at the time, was the back-up quarterback in the race. He was an unknown and everybody hated both starters so by default they looked optimistically at Johnson as the savior... now that he has been on the field a little and people have seen what he's got... there is a reason he was the back-up.

"The American people have had it with years and decades of Clinton corruption and scandal," Trump said. "And impeachment for lying. … Remember that?"
“If you look at her being an enabler, really, in the ‘90s and really attacking these women, it goes against everything that she now tries to spout as a candidate for president,” David Bossie, Trump’s deputy campaign manager, said on the same program.

Don't worry about it.
All that matters is the debates and what happens after
Trump blew his wad in the first debate. All he has now is tabloid crap. Hillary didn't even hit him with the heavy stuff yet.
The 2nd debate is gonna be ugly. Trump is going to lash out.
Hell, he almost turned into the same trump during the republican primary debates. He was at that line.
And he will cross over next time. I know other people are, but I'm not worried about this election. Trump is gonna take this L. I would think people should be worried either way. There is nothing to stick up for in this election. Nothing.

Nothing. This election has been an eye opening experience for me. Every election since I was 18 I had a rooting interest, sometimes I was more excited than others but I always had somebody that I wanted to win. So I would get sucked into defending my preferred candidates shortcomings... I have been able to watch this election in a much more objective fashion than any election before it and I see the hatred, the vitriol, the totally unproductive bickering back and forth like I've never seen it before. To watch the people go at it trying to achieve some level of high ground for their preferred morally reprobate candidate would be entertaining if it wasn't so scary. I have come across on this board and elsewhere as bashing Hillary more, which is probably true.. but it's only because everybody else is bashing Donald, which he deserves, and she seems to get much more of a pass for all of her past indiscretions. I recorded the debate and watched it last night. Neither of them looked good, neither of them capitalized on the opportunities that were presented to them. Neither of them said the things that needed to be said when they needed to be said. Donald is probably more quick on his feet but most of his comments come off as snarky and angry instead of witty and charming.. Hillary is just very programmed, she is ice cold and has the personality of a lizard... and that doesn't even consider that both of them lie repeatedly... it's like they know they are going to be fact checked, they know that at best their allegations are on the outer limits of truth, if not outright lies... yet they say them anyway... it's like they don't care. Then the media and the sycophants from both sides argue who won.. nobody won, especially the American people.. we lost. I don't care how else you want to carve it up, we lost.

From one side we have decades of knowledge of what we will get from a polished Politician.
The other side still offers hope of change from a brash, unpolished Businessman.
Not such a hard pick for this American People.

in 2008, when people were trumpeting Obama as the political outsider who had only been in politics for a short while and the "agent of hope and change" I remember warning that change, just for the sake of change, without knowing which form that change will take, is not always a good thing...
I will restate that it applies equally to Trump in this case..

You see that sign over there? They only put that stop sign up on this four way street because I'm here. The signs are rigged. Trump calls first debate 'rigged' https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-calls-first-debate-rigged-211047574.html

Do any of these candidates have a chance of getting re-elected in 2020? If it's Clinton, then it depends on who the GOP decides to trot out there next. If it's trump, probably not.

For nearly a decade now there has been an assault on everything I stand for in this Nation, I see Hillary continuing this assault while Trump may actually change America's direction.
I will take a 4 year risk to see if the change is what I want vs the status quo of what is wrong with America.
And it all begins with the nominations to the Supreme Court.

I am curious what happens if Trump releases his returns about 3 days before the election, and they show that he gave a lot of money to charity, and paid a lot in taxes? I doubt that will be the case, as I am sure that the Obama administration has shared with her campaign what is in his returns ...... but it could be a problem, tying up so much capital in a single line of attack, that might turn out to be a line of attack.

I just know what Hillary is ...... so the only really interesting thing, to me, are the "what ifs". I think that we're screwed no matter who wins.

I have to be honest about Assange. He's been saying for months he's going to blow the lid off of the Clinton run for office and I've yet to see a thing that does that.
I don't know why the opinion of a man that hides is worth listening too

Somehow Republican Senate seats that were seen as vulnerable have been strengthening. Trump is not hurting them as it appeared he would.
I think that a lot of people have decided not to vote for President, but will vote for the rest of the ballot. I think that a lot of Republican voters have decided that they cannot vote for Trump, but also that they cannot hand Hillary Clinton the Senate and House along with the Presidency. That's the only reason I am voting.

I've been telling this board and others for months now.
Kasich, Paul, Bush, hell even Ryan and Boehner running, and we could honestly be talking about a landslide victory going the GOP's way.
And I mean that with everything I got.
But no, they decided to pick the one person in the world worse than Hillary.

No matter D or R, if the American people have spoken for who should be president, why make it almost impossible for that president to get anything accomplished that they ran on? What's the point of even having a president if all you're gonna do is [censored] block them anyway? Makes no sense. R or D, if a president gets the majority win, they should be allowed to implement the majority of policies they campaigned for. It's the whole reason we voted for them in the first place. Cause if trump wins, you won't vote democrat. But if Hillary wins, you'll still vote R. I just want you to be aware that you and others who think like that are part of the problem. And just to be clear, no I'm not saying you should vote down the line for republican or democrat. But y'all stay voting people in who accomplish nothing and just run to be obstructionist. It's completely counterproductive. At least vote for somebody who wants to be bipartisan.

I can understand, to an extent, your point. But, remember, the president is SUPPOSED to represent some 300 million people. A president should not be allowed to just do what they please because they are the president. Ohio senators represent about about 6 million each. (isn't the population of Ohio about 12 million?) Representatives represent even less. Just because you are president doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want. Our founding fathers installed a pretty decent gov't., with checks and balances. What has transpired over the years is a corruption of that, to an extent. JMO.

People like gridlock. They like it that it is hard for any President to get things done .... and prefer that the 2 parties would actually have to work together. I think that a lot of people want it to be hard to add new spending to the federal budget. Not that long ago, we saw what happens when a single party is in power ..... with Obamacare's passage. They shoved that through the House and Senate, bribing some lawmakers along the way, and by adding unconstitutional aspects to the law that favored certain lawmakers' home areas. Once it was passed, and certain aspects were found unconstitutional, the administration just changed certain things without it going through Congress. If it looked like Trump was going to win ... well, I guess that's a bad example, because I think he'll have a hard time getting nothing through Congress, no matter who controls it ....... but say there was a Democrat I could not stand .... like Hillary .... then I would vote for the Republicans across the board. If a "real" Republican, who I could not accept as President, was running .... and it looked like he would win .... then I would probably vote for Democrats down ballot, just to limit the damage that candidate could do as President. I have greatly disliked all of the Presidential nominees over the course of the past 2 elections. I felt that Obama, McCain, and Romney were all awful options. I didn't particularly like Rob Portman ... but he was the opposite party of the President, so he got my vote. (and the Dems ran lousy candidates for that office too) As of right now, I believe that Hillary Clinton is going to win. Because of that, I will vote an entirely Republican ballot, other than the Presidential race, in which I will write in GM's real name. I would write "God" .... but if I did that, both candidates would say that I was voting for them.

I don't know why the opinion of a man that hides is worth listening too I can't recall exactly what he said about that but I do remember some of his quotes being embellished by some sites. As far as what he has and if/when he will release it, I don't know. But he did blow the lid off the DNC corruption and rigging against Bernie Sanders, did he not? [EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure if that was Wikileaks or somebody else? Anyone remember?] And that was released at a time where it would have maximum impact: right before Hillary was set to accept the nomination. A funny thing happened; mainstream media covered it briefly and then dropped it. I mean think about the ramifications in regards to democracy: the DNC was determined to not let a fellow democrat into office. It's not like they were going after Trump (well, they were doing that too, but that is to be expected in bipartisan politics). He has regularly released and/or pointed out many other shady dealings throughout the election season but don't expect to see them on MSNBC or CNN. You might catch some of them on Fox. I've speculated on here a few times regarding when he would drop 'the big one', if he had it, to do maximum impact. October surprise perhaps? Who knows.

The Founders set it up for "We the People" to run this Nation but since it is not practical for us all to be in Washington, we elect people to represent us. If they don't represent our wishes, then it will be time for "We the People" to march on Washington and throw the bums out!

LOL Hillary has to be loving this. Hillary disgusts me. One of her campaign lackys was asked why Hillary has injected herself into this and the response was about Hillary feeling the need to defend this woman as long as it takes.. When more than a dozen women accused her husband of sexual assault and/or rape, she didn't defend them, she didn't listen to them, she didn't believe them.. she ATTACKED them. In typical Clinton methods she orchestrated attacks on their character in the most sinister of ways... But now Hillary (and her supporters) are going to take some moral high ground and stand firm to defend the chick who was called fat? GMAFB Every time I see her commercial about Donald Trump being a bad president for our daughters it almost makes me want to puke... leaving a daughter alone with her husband is about the scariest thing I can think of...

Question D.C.,
How many woman do you believe would defend their husbands if they felt allegations were not true? Also, have you ever read stories on Ivana and Trump?

The Machine is firing on all cylinders here in Virginia... He fought in World War II. He died in 2014. And he just registered to vote in Va. RICHMOND — The FBI and local police are investigating how at least 19 dead Virginians were recently re-registered to vote in this critical swing state. One case came to light after relatives of a deceased man received a note congratulating him for registering, Rockingham County Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst said Thursday. “His family members were very distraught,” said Garst, who confirmed the existence of the FBI and police investigation but said she could provide few details because the case is ongoing. All 19 were initially registered as voters in the Shenandoah Valley city of Harrisonburg, although a clerk double-checking the entries later raised questions about one. She recognized the name of Richard Allen Claybrook Sr., who died in 2014 at age 87, because his son is a well-known local judge. She happened to recall that the judge’s father had died. “He was a retired Fairfax County elementary school principal and had fought in World War II,” said his son, retired Harrisonburg General District Court Judge Richard Allen Claybrook Jr. “So our family is very disgusted that they would pick his name, because he was such a law-abiding citizen devoted to public service.” All of the forms had been submitted by a private group that was working to register voters on the campus of James Madison University, according to the Harrisonburg registrar’s office. The group was not identified. No charges have been filed. Republicans in the state House of Delegates, who in recent years have supported tighter voter ID laws, held a conference call with reporters to call attention to the investigation. “Oftentimes we hear our Democratic colleagues suggest that voter fraud doesn’t exist in Virginia, or it’s a myth,” House Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) said. “This is proof that voter fraud not only exists but is ongoing and is a threat to the integrity of our elections.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/vir...1495_story.html

Wait.
How can that be? We've been told over and over that voter fraud doesn't exist.
And, we've been told over and over that voter i.d. laws are racist AND discriminate against poor people that can't afford the $5-15 dollars for a state issued i.d. $15 for an i.d. that is valid for 4+ years.
Why is it, when I go to vote, the people manning the polling station call me by name, BUT, won't let me get a ballot card without showing my i.d...........but in some places
