This is what I'm hoping as well. I don't think we release him unless this persists into next season for which at the end of the 17 season I would move on from him. He's still only 25 though...what a waste THUS FAR.

I don't doubt that if Josh leaves Rehab before the end of the season that he'd play him.

Jerry Jones loves his turd ball players. Guarantee he would sign Gordon.

I have to commend the FO in moving on from Gordon. While it's true he's still on the team, I'm one who believes actions speak louder than words.

In this past draft they addressed the WR position heavily. You can see by their actions in the draft and with the continuing investment in Pryor , that they decided not to trust in the return of Gordon.

As such, Gordon would have been a nice bonus but wasn't actually considered a cog in the wheel.

JMHO, Josh Gordon has so much talent some sucker will give him another million to maybe play a few games.....HOPE Cleveland has finally cut ties with him.....GO Browns!!!!

The Cleveland Browns announced on Thursday that wide receiver Josh Gordon would enter an in-patient rehab facility, and was not expected to return from suspension during Week 5.


In a statement the Browns released on Twitter, Gordon — who was suspended for f0ur games this season and missed the duration of last season for failing the league's anti-substance abuse policy — said he was stepping away from his pursuit to return to football to "gain full control of my life."


The news cast doubts on the Gordon's future in the NFL, and with the Browns.


On Friday, Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson told the media bluntly that Gordon's chapter in Cleveland was, indeed, over.


"I think what's best for our football team is that we move forward and move on,'' Jackson said, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. "He's not going to be with us and we wish him well, but we're moving forward. We're going to move on.''


Jackson continued:


"You said a key, it seems like [we are done for good]. I just think for me and for our team, for everybody involved, my goal is to make sure that we take care of the players that are here and the players that are practicing and working. I care about everybody. I think that's the seat I'm in, but at the same time, he's not here, so that's why we wished him well and want the best for him and I think the most important thing I can do is make sure that our football team that are here, the guys that are practicing the guys that are going to play, the guys that are in the meeting room and working hard to get ready for a game is that our focus and our attention to detail is right.


So that's my main concern and I think what we need to do is just close that chapter right now. He's doing what he needs to do and we need to do what we need to do which is continue to move forward."


When Gordon was on the field, he proved himself to be a gifted receiver and a real offensive talent for Cleveland. In 2013, he caught nine touchdowns and collected 1,646 yards.


Hopefully we can see him on an NFL field sometime in the future.

That's not the right attitude. This is the first time I at least have a partial understanding of Gordon's actions.

I hope someone got him to put some of that 2013 salary in a trust or something.

It would be sad if he's broke.

If not now, he probably will be in short order. He didn't make that much money to burn through pretty quickly. Money goes quick when in the slow lane, let alone the fast lane.

God helps those that help themselves. Meathead is what he is. It's his nature to be a loser. I have NO problem with the Browns being done. It's about damned time. We have wasted far too much time and effort on a guy that doesn't care about football, his teammates or the franchise. ALL meathead cares about is himself. Period.

JIM BROWN tried to get through to him. A living legend took the time and made the effort to get meat back on track and he STILL blew it. He has no one to blame but himself. Good riddance....

Now lets forget about meathead and get the young revievers we drafted some much needed playing experience! Pryor is ten times the player meat was. Why? HE's actually HERE for the team and his fellow Browns!

I stand by what I said. She is a woman of no consequence so by definition that makes her a piece of fluff. If she wasn't then he would be stepping up to be the dad but instead he is contesting it. He doesn't want to be the kids dad or tied to her. If a woman doesn't want to be a piece of fluff then she should keep her pants on and make the man earn it. ALL MEN are fluff until they get trapped in the lint tray after being washed off and dried out =P

But no I don't think Josh is any better because I think anyone who sleeps around for a quick fix deserves whatever happens to them.

After reading his last sentence saying Gordon is no better and deserving of what's happened, I agree. He didn't rape her. Two idiots having consensual, casual, unprotected sex are now suffering the ugly consequences.

The "ugly consequence" is a human life, so at least we know that some good can come of what was most likely a meaningless hook-up. I do give the woman credit for choosing to keep the baby. Gordon, on the other hand, gets no points for forcing her to prove that he was the father.

JMHO, what is weird is our society has become sooooo liberal, sex is huge driver, but chastity, sacred, modest....they are laughed at...I think it is a ethnicity thing...how many white brothers bragged about nailing over 2,000 or more BROADS like Wilt the Stilt, which ethnicity fathers eight children with seven different mothers-forget his name....Terrell Owens, he's a saint.....AND most are broke after they father all these UNWANTED children....pray for Gordon....yes, but pray harder for the thousands/millions? of unwanted children...hope and pray the Browns REALLY have closed the chapter on Josh Gordon, he's been a liar since day one.....GO Browns!!!! The ugly consequence is not the human life. It's the fact that the life was brought into this world by a couple of idiots seeking instant gratification without considering the results. Then again, I guess it's possible the girl did consider it for personal gain...which would make it an even uglier situation.
