You would think they would be smart enough to understand that fact. The Deplorables are.

Yes it could happen but when one group of people see themselves as superior to the rest and begin to dismiss the rest as idiots and deplorables, it is on.
I agree with that. However, you don't deal with it by just having a war against the educated. You counter that by educating all. So many problems could be solved with education. Also, your above comment is seen across the board. Conservatives dismissing other viewpoints as "bleeding heart liberals". People shifting blame on this, that or the other but, never looking at themselves. People dismissing others because of race, culture, sexuality, religion/non-religion and on and on it goes. Much of this comes down to lack of education. So, again, education could help solve many of society's ills. Costa Rica has a literacy rate of 95%, their education is consistently praised AND they have no military. Again, not suggesting no military but, we could easily cut our defense spending down and prioritize education with the future payoffs in mind. Imagine what America could do (and be like) if we placed that focus and priority on education?

It is our Military that has allowed us to be free from tyranny. Drop our guard for two minutes when it comes to our Military and you will find yourself with zero Constitutional Rights and most likely speaking the language of our enemies.
The Liberal Left always likes to compare America to those countries who have never had to provide fully for their own national defense. Ridiculous! They have always had the backing of a strong United States. But now that the elite have all but bankrupted America, just wait to see the untold harm and wars you have brought about as those countries will have to scrabble to provide for their own defense.
Today in America, the Elite are bringing tyranny to us from within and we the deplorables will fight it at every turn.

Drop our guard for two minutes when it comes to our Military and you will find yourself with zero Constitutional Rights and most likely speaking the language of our enemies. You mean like when we went to Iraq to fight tyranny? How about Vietnam? Korea? I have the greatest respect for those who serve or have seen action. But, with exception to Afghanistan to destroy the terror camps since WW2 the wars the American government has chosen to invest in have not been against tyrannical nations that have threatened our security, our economy or our borders. Today in America, the Elite are bringing tyranny to us from within and we the deplorables will fight it at every turn. With all due respect 40 this is a pretty sad, frightening statement. Stand back and re-read what you wrote and ask yourself if that is rational or if it will just add to more division and hate. It also doesn't sound like the "good Christian" thing to do (commenting on the "good Christian" posts that went back and forth between a few of you).

It should be frightening.
We Christians are also included in the list of Deplorables.
Never forget though, we are Christian Americans and many of us and our Christian Forefathers fought in this Nations wars, to the death, against Tyranny and Oppression. Against all foes, foreign and domestic.

Christians end up protected under the same banner as jewish individuals, muslims, scientologists, mormons, etc.
What isn't protected? You can't base laws off of religious dogma. Religious dogma holds no legal binding in the court of law. The constitution, which you love to reference at any moment, states the importance of the separation of church and state.
Our founding fathers weren't Christians in the modern sense of the word, either. But, I'm not going to dredge up historical facts. It seems feelings trump facts these days.

I understand that you guys can't understand it and I will not try to convince you but I will show you what is occurring before your very eyes...
Elitist oppression is being fought against all over the Western world currently.
You will see it if you look into Brexit.
You will see it in the deposing of Angela Merkel of Germany.
You see it in the rise of Donald Trump in America.
All done at the hands of the worlds Deplorables.

Ah, but he didn't ask for the definition of "A Christian", I think he already knows that and there are plenty of them.
He asked what exactly is a "Good Christian". ...and I gave him an exact answer of what I feel a good Christian is. Your reply to me is inaccurate and bordering on ridiculous. Ytown will probably give a great response if he hasn't already.

Sorry, I was just clicking.
I still don't see posts telling me the strengths of either of the two candidates. I only see posts that tell me how terrible the other candidate is.
Who can deny that?

What are those unintended consequences?
Bankrupting the country.
The more we discredit lowering the cost of education or label the discussions of free higher education as "evil socialism" the more we slam the door on our country being able to progress and grow.
Who is discrediting lowering the cost of education? I would think most are for it. The liberal method is to give everyone "free" education by having the government pay for it. Well that doesn't lower the cost at all. Adding government bloat will increase the price. But since it's "free" you're hiding the price from the buyer. In the end, this method is not doing anything to reduce the cost of education. We need spending cuts across the board, not more spending.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

I think that we have 2 absolutely lousy candidates, and I am writing in GM's name for President. It's amazing, in that it seems like those who really run this country seem to want to torture the very few people who are actually paying attention, but making sure the absolutely worst possible candidates wind up winning.
Blech. Democrats? Republicans? A pox on both their houses. I have long said that the 2 parties are almost indistinguishable in many ways.
We're screwed as a country, no matter who wins.

If the polls are indicative of anything, Hillary has really benefited from Trumps stupidity this week. It's the only reason she hasn't been crushed. I still believe this, if Cruz was runing this would be an azz whooping for Republicans.

We're screwed as a country, no matter who wins. Both candidates nauseate me as well. I'm considering voting for the third party or independent candidate with the most support right before the election, because it will hopefully send the message that a lot of people are sick of the 2 party power grab.

Johnson? Stein? Thing is...that is a wasted vote isn't it? Why? Because neither is a viable candidate enough to poll even double digits. Johnson may have been if he had half a brain but, the more he speaks the more he proves he is a dimwit making him a complete joke, right? Stein? Yeah...well....She may poll 1%. A viable third party is what we need and one that can put up candidates who are intelligent and who can poll at double digits enough to disrupt the two main parties. But, they are as bad as the main parties when they present weak/lame candidates.

Hillary Clinton says in a clip that many of her former primary opponent's supporters sought things like “free college, free healthcare." Clinton gives her take on Sanders supporters in leaked fundraising recording 'Half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel.' By Cristiano Lima 09/30/16 Hacked audio of a conversation between Hillary Clinton and donors during a February fundraising event shows the Democrat nominee describing Bernie Sanders supporters as "children of the Great Recession" who are "living in their parents’ basement." Speaking at a Virginia fundraiser hosted by former U.S. ambassador Beatrice Welters, Clinton says in a clip released by the Free Beacon that many of her former primary opponent's supporters sought things like “free college, free health care,” saying that she preferred to occupy the space "from the center-left to the center-right" on the political spectrum. During the conversation, also reported in the Intercept, Clinton confesses to feeling "bewildered" by those to her far-left and far-right in the election. "There is a strain of, on the one hand, the kind of populist, nationalist, xenophobic, discriminatory kind of approach that we hear too much of from the Republican candidates," she said. "And on the other side, there’s just a deep desire to believe that we can have free college, free healthcare, that what we’ve done hasn’t gone far enough, and that we just need to, you know, go as far as, you know, Scandinavia, whatever that means, and half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel." While stressing the need to not serve as a "wet blanket on idealism," Clinton paints fans of the then-surging Vermont senator as political newbies attempting to deal with an economy that has fallen short of their expectations. "Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement," she said. "They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future." Clinton added: "If you’re feeling like you’re consigned to, you know, being a barista, or you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot, and doesn’t have some other ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing." "I think we all should be really understanding of that," Clinton said. The audio, which according to the Free Beacon was "revealed by hackers who breached the email account of a campaign staffer," surfaces the same week that Sanders hit the campaign trail to try to win those same young voters that Clinton has struggled to attract since clinching the Democratic nomination. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-supporters-audio-leak-228997

And it all becomes a non-story with: "I think we all should be really understanding of that," Clinton said. Somewhere along the campaign she thawed to many of Bernie's ideas. I'll take what I can get from her.

I worry about the growing anti-intellectual movement. I was flabbergasted at the amount of cheers against people with college educations at Trump's convention. Maybe that was directed at the people who thumb their noses at those who did not go to college. Who think just because they went to college it makes them smarter or somehow better than those who didn't
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.
