We're twenty trillion in debt. That's a really really big T. Now we bring in roughly three trillion in taxes a year, so if we shut government down completely for six to seven years we might catch up. Since that will never happen, how can we possibly think of adding new debt to a debt we can't maintain now? How irresponsible is that line of thinking? How much debt are you willing to saddle future generations with? Your just not getting it Tulsa. Unless one goes to college and is taught that abortion is good, being a christian is not only bad but makes you stupid as hell, and that boys showering with girls in High School is being enlightened. Basket weaving 101 will teach you all you ever need to know in life. Without it our children are doomed.

I'm considering voting for the third party or independent candidate with the most support right before the election, because it will hopefully send the message that a lot of people are sick of the 2 party power grab. Johnson? Stein? Thing is...that is a wasted vote isn't it? Why? Because neither is a viable candidate enough to poll even double digits. Johnson may have been if he had half a brain but, the more he speaks the more he proves he is a dimwit making him a complete joke, right? Stein? Yeah...well....She may poll 1%. A viable third party is what we need and one that can put up candidates who are intelligent and who can poll at double digits enough to disrupt the two main parties. But, they are as bad as the main parties when they present weak/lame candidates. It's the only vote that will allow me to sleep at night.

Conservatives have spent 25 years or more and probably
Seems to me that it's time for them to take a different approach..

I predict that this election will have a record breaking "small" turnout and that Trump will be President.
This is sad to me because I think he will be an awful president. Even if Hillary wins I think she will do nothing for the little guy and things will continue to get worse for average Joe.
Voting third party makes no sense whatsoever as there is zero chance of one of them winning. Voting Trump is like playing the lottery with you last dollar, you know you're not going to win and be worse off than before but there is that one in infinity chance it will have a good turnout. Voting for Hillary will give you stability in the status quo of a continued economic crapfest for working people, more war and more same ole same ole...
Staying home seems to be the sensible answer and one my wife is set on. I'm going to pinch my nose and vote for Hillary because I think Trump will be a catastrophe of epic proportions as president. However neither of us are satisfied or feel good about what we are going to do.
My wife has never missed a vote for president since she has been old enough to vote, but she is adamant that casting a vote for either candidate would leave her feeling dirty. So she's opted to let those who do turn out decide.
I think Trump supporters, being hell bent on change regardless of costs like Brexit voters and enthusiastic for their candidate like Bernie supporters will show up in the greatest numbers. This is why, and only why, I've decided to vote for Hillary. And I agree with my wife that this vote will somehow stain me personally and it definitely feels like I'm betraying my values.

Advocating and or boasting about civil war? Hmmm...I guess I have seen it all.
No, not advocating, but I have been trying to warn you it is possible in today's America. Elitist oppression is being fought against all over the Western world currently. It is being done through the Vote. You will see it if you look into Brexit. You will see it in the deposing of Angela Merkel of Germany. You see it in the rise of Donald Trump in America. All done at the hands of the worlds "Deplorables". Someone from the press actually asked Hillary the other day if she would lead in the Civil War if Trump wins.

Well in 40s defense I have to say that a civil war to end the plutocracy and take our country back from the corporations and financial institutions might very well be in our future.

The weather is changing and hate will keep you warmer. Wow. Not wanting people to be educated? Promoting hatred and class/civil war? I mean, it kinda sounds eerily like the Taliban, don't you think?

I totally understand not wanting our country to become one mega corporation but....the irony is a vote for Trump is turning our country into "Trump Inc". I mean the dude talks all the time about his "deals", his "brand", his "business", how many "deals" he can make. He promoted his company at least 6 times in the debate. Voting for him is playing right into his corporate hand.

Voting third party makes no sense whatsoever as there is zero chance of one of them winning. I realize there's no chance of them winning, but if enough people vote that way...the power monger parties might look at that chunk of voters and decide that it might actually be beneficial to do something constructive to get their support. It might also make independents and 3rd parties take things more seriously. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But like I said, I'll sleep better at night knowing I didn't vote for one of the jerkoffs.

Or, it just gets them to address those voters in 4 years but, not really wanting to appease them. Say what they want to hear to win their vote then forget about them once you get elected. Which would be typical politics, right?

I'd have to say that I agree with 40.
If they can't win in an election, they'll probably ignore democracy, the entire election process this nation was founded on, and turn to violence to win control.
Nothing would shock me from people who think like him.

People that sit on their butts and demand the government give them everything for free are not going to be motivated enough to start a rebellion.

If working people just stop paying their taxes To be more like Trump? Has trump broken the law to not pay taxes? Or has he used the tax code as written? If it's the former, shame on him, and he should pay the penalty/fine/jail time - whatever. Just like all the people in the O admin had to do.......wait, all they had to do, well, a couple of them, was pay the fine. Perhaps, if trump broke the law, the irs would treat him as harshly as Rangel, who absolutely skirted the law, intentionally. Well, wait, Rangels treatment for defrauding the gov't./irs wasn't really that bad either. Trump's been audited a lot. Sure seems like he's been playing by the rules. If you have a problem with the rules, talk to congress.

That is just wonderful Ted, you can now retreat to your own safe speech zone as America goes bankrupt. You can sit back in your chair with no concern for the Christian Baker who was ordered by the courts to take sensitivity training, until he was better, for not wanting to be part of something that was a slap to the face of his beliefs and it was all forced on him by this government.
As America slips into the abyss, as our daughters are forced to shower with men, you can proudly proclaim you had nothing to do with even trying to change things but sat home on your butt, playing your fiddle while America burned.

If working people just stop paying their taxes To be more like Trump? But raising tax rates makes things "fairer". I have said, for many years now, income tax rates make little difference. The rich find ways to pay little, or no, taxes. I remember Warren Buffet, during the 1st Obama term, talking about how we needed to raise marginal rates, because he paid less than his secretary ..... which sounded good, except that he didn't pay himself in cash ..... he paid himself with options, which are not taxed as income. So, raising marginal rates would do absolutely nothing to him, except for making himself look good for proposing it. Our tax system needs to completely change. Raising rates on the rich accomplishes little to nothing.

I'm still going to vote, but you can't tell me that a man that has lived a life devoid of every character trait YOU believe in for the last 70 years all of a sudden had an epiphany (even if he did, he hasn't shown it to me and hasn't proven it well enough for me to vote for him) and is the answer to our countries problems. He's the capitalist that funds the cronies, we all know this. So why do we think he's going to do anything to change anything? He's not even running well enough to convince me he wants to win. I thought GW was a conservative, he may have been a social conservative but definitely not a fiscal one. I used to think he was only allowing all that spending to keep the troops funded, but it became apparent (much later on to me anyway) that he'd have spent that kind of money anyway, and now people think this guy is going to be different? Nope.

But raising tax rates makes things "fairer". Actually it does when the taxes are used to benefit all in society. [/quote] But it doesn't, because the rich evade paying taxes no matter what the rates are. That's my point. We need a flatter system without all of the crap deductions that allow the most well off people to avoid most, or all of their taxes. It is unfair that someone who lives in luxury gets away with paying taxes, while the single person is taxed on everything above $7500, or whatever the minimum is now. Changing tax rates does nothing to fix this. Only changing the structure of the tax system does.

How did Trump lose over 900 mil? Didn't he claim he was only worth 2 billion during the 90's? There's no way he could afford a hit like that.
It makes me wonder if he's just a brand and that's how he's made money his entire life.

Also, I'll ask Trump supporters a question that I want answered honestly. If he has another week like he did after the 2nd debate, can he survive it? I thought he was fine during the debate, but it's been a brutal post-debate. He could not have handled it any worse.
