Because to me the Browns are family, and I would never ever give up on family.
You do realize that the NFL is not actually against any specific team?
"Jet fuel can't melt steel beams!"
I think refs are "inherently biased" against bad teams.
Or the worst teams have crappy players who commit more penalties because they suck.
Even so, you premise is more likely than the league conspiring against a team. If that were the case and it was found out, then the league would cease to exist. Also, the NFL leaks everything, so we would know if that were the case.
Joe Thomas: 'Lie till you die' for refs on fumble ruling
BEREA, Ohio -- For the officials who ruled that the Washington Redskins recovered Duke Johnson's fumble in Sunday's game, his Cleveland Browns teammate Joe Thomas said it was a matter of "lie till you die."
He said it with a smile, of course, but there also was plenty of seriousness, as Thomas said officials stuck with their call because they were fooled by Washington's players acting as if they had the ball when they didn't.
Replays showed Johnson holding the ball aloft as officials signaled Washington had recovered his fumble.
"After kind of watching some of the replays and talking to the guys on Washington and talking to Duke, basically the ball hit the ground, bounced right back to Duke," Thomas said Wednesday.
"And when the Washington player tried to scoop it, he got air. Then he just ... I don't know if because I was on top of him he was laying there acting like he had the football, or because he was laying there acting like he had the football Josh Norman jumped on him and the refs saw the posture of two Redskins cradling nothing on the ground and me trying to go after that nothing that [line judge Sarah Thomas] just assumed that the Redskins must have the ball even though Duke had the ball in his hands. I think if she would have just looked over and saw Duke with the ball it would have been a different story.
"At that point when you're an official, you've just got to go with whatever you're going with and lie till you die at that point."
The fumble came near midfield with the Browns down 24-20. Though Washington did not score off the "turnover," retaining possession would have given the Browns a chance to take the lead in a game they lost 31-20.
Replays showed Johnson standing with the ball before Thomas even signaled it was Washington's ball.
Thomas was digging in a pile with linebacker Will Compton, who was credited with the recovery.
Compton posted on Twitter that Johnson must have had an extra ball because he had a ball too, a contention that Thomas disputed.
The NFL said that there was no clear replay shot that showed Johnson with the ball on the ground, only that he had it standing up.
NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino said the sight of Johnson holding the ball before Thomas signaled Washington possession was a "bad visual."
None of the other officials asked for a discussion or pointed out that Johnson had the ball.
"The problem was the way the ball bounced, it bounced right back to Duke, and then you've got a scrum," Thomas said. "So usually as an official I would assume that you always just assume the ball's in the scrum.
"And so I don't think anybody else had a good vision of the ball because the Redskins player that was posturing like he had the ball was laying face down. So there would be no way to see it anyway.
"I just think nobody else saw the football because of the way it bounced back."
Thomas said even he was initially fooled by Compton "acting like he had the ball."
"And then Josh Norman jumps on top of him to cradle him so nobody else could get on top of him," Thomas said. "I never saw the football. I just saw a guy that was acting like he had the football, which is exactly what the official saw.
"Somebody acting like he had the football, so she gave the ball to the person who was acting like he had the football."
I suspect that Joe will be receiving an envelope from the league, and that's a shame, because what he said is absolutely true.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
So I'm assuming one of the wins is Washington. What was the other? Was it the three score lead against the Ravens that was blown or the debacle against the fins? Again I'm assuming you'll say the game against Miami. Is it because it is more recent and the would haves and could haves are fresh in your memory? Think back to almost any loss. There are always would haves and should haves. They feel more relevant when the gash is fresh, but the win column doesn't change.

nope was talking about the ravens game. left the dolphins out because I think that 3-1 is a bit of a stretch. we could be 3-1 but I say 2-2 just to keep an even keel. as I believe we would have dropped either one.
I bet you're wondering the samething I did, why O' why didn't I take the...blue pill
Joe Thomas is becoming like most people's grandparents.. once you hit a certain age you just start saying whatever the heck you want.. Guess he's at a point in his career where he doesnt care about biting his tongue. lol.

Exactly Turk. He literally has no filter now ... he's like screw it, we stink, I'm old, here's the truth
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

In my younger years, I used to believe that NFL officials made the correct calls 95% of the time.
When replay was added, I thought it would help to reduce the other 5% of the time that officials didn't get their calls right.
What I did not take into consideration was that the same people calling the game are in lock step with those viewing the replay. Nice little scheme they've developed...covering the asses of the officials on the field when they clearly make a bad call.
When Hue Jackson was told that the replay had already happened and that the call on the field had been confirmed...he could not even challenge the call...THAT IS BS.
The bottom line is, NFL officiating is a racket where the same guys reviewing the plays are or where officials on the field...all paid by the NFL.
They are more concerned about covering for each other than they are concerned about getting a call correct. Until those priorities change, expect more of the same caliber of officiating.
That said, someone in the Browns organization needs address the matter at the highest level. Doesn't look as though the message has been received yet...just get the call right!
...use the process that was put in place to get the call right and stop using the process to cover up bad calls.
Saw this link while surfing OBR today and thought it was worth a look. This adds visuals and details to Diam's point about the mistakes made by the line judge. Of particular interest is the contention/discussion that the whistle had not blown until AFTER the ref got to the ball-less pile of bodies.

It only took 7,407 tries but you finally made a post I agree with.
Roger Goodell is the most crooked commissioner maybe in the history of sports. He is in bed with all of the successful owners. He has made himself judge, jury, and executioner of player misconduct. His officials constantly show favoritism to his buddies teams.
Maybe Haslam's primary focus should be on becoming Goodell's buddy.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

It's annoying that every third post of yours I have to Google the urban dictionary.

I have to do the same thing on Facebook sometimes... It's part of the culture of Cleveland.
Washington went 3 and out on the possession immediately following the fumble. We got it back and Kessler promptly threw a pick.
We lost by 11. Not sure how people think we would have won that game w/out the call.
Just Brown's fans crying............Again!
The Browns had just completed yet-another rushing first down crossing into Washington territory and we were running the ball well all day. The Browns had momentum and field position...and time on the clock while being down 4
The call essentially reversed field position, stymied momentum, forced our D to make another stop and took time off the clock.
The call didn't cost us the game...but it absolutely changed the game. I like Hue and DJ's attitude about it...don't fumble and those things don't happen.
IMO, talking about it on a message board does not equal crying.

It was a terrible call. Those happen in games across the league. So I'm not crying about the call. However, the fact remains it was awful.
How it impacted the game in regards to a W or a L is highly debatable. Momentum means a great deal to a young team. We'll never know if that drive would have ended in a score. We'll never know how much of a swing in momentum that call created.
So IMO, there is no clear cut answer to that question.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Probably they aren't but it sure feels like it sometimes..
And Jet Fuel can indeed melt steel beams.... But it's not just about temperature. Because the problem isn't one of pure temperature, it is one of HEAT CAPACITY and THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY.

That call also changed the space time continuum which thereby forced us to pass on the play where Reiter got injured rather than run block.
So...the league conspired to injure our replacement C.

we were moving the ball pretty damn well up until that point. It was a real momentum killer

The NFL has received a lot of grief for an, at best, questionable fumble recovery call during Sunday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins. It's about to get worse. A new angle shows running back Duke Johnson Jr. clearly fumbles the football but gathers it back in quickly. Towards the end of the video, it appears Redskins lineback Will Compton, the player who recovered the allegeded fumble, is sitting on his knees empty handed.
The Browns have clearly moved on from the call. Johnson was asked this week about the odds of he and Isaiah Crowell each rushing for 1,000 yards.
"If I can hold onto the ball," Johnson joked.

The video above corroborates a story from Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas.
