I see the Civil War has begun in the Republican Party as Trump attacks the Republicans as being disloyal to the Party's candidate and more concerned with themselves. He really is nailing Ryan and his leadership.

Donald Trump launches war on Paul Ryan, slams Republican Party

Donald Trump unleashed a Twitter barrage Tuesday at House Speaker Paul Ryan and other Republicans who he claimed had been "disloyal."

The tweets came after several big-name Republicans announced they could no longer support their presidential nominee in the wake of the publication of a 2005 video showing Trump bragging about groping women. Trump apologized for what he called "locker room talk."

On Monday, Ryan said he would no longer defend Trump through the last month of the general election — but he stopped short of rescinding his endorsement of the New York businessman.
In the messages, Trump said "the shackles" had been removed and "disloyal" members of his own party are more of an impediment than Hillary Clinton.
Pundits have warned for some time that the Republican Party could be on the verge of a civil war.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told CNBC on Monday that a "historic" break in the party could be brewing. A Trump supporter, Gingrich said those who are hoping to "manage decay" under a Clinton White House risk a long-term split with elements of the Republican grassroots.

A spokesman for the House speaker said, "Paul Ryan is focusing the next month on defeating Democrats, and all Republicans running for office should probably do the same."

As Trump attacked the speaker's fidelity, Ryan's own Twitter account posted a series of policy discussions on Tuesday morning but nothing about Trump.

During the primary season, Trump rose to prominence by attacking the "establishment" elements of his party, whom he painted as self-serving and unconcerned with the general populace's well-being. That populist tactic had seen less use, however, during the general election as Trump sought to win over moderate voters.

Ryan is in a real pickle.
As well as a lot of other repubs in tight races.

It seems now that Trump knows its going down by more than enough for him to say it was stolen from him;

so he is going to blow the whole thing up and set up a nice future business with Bannon & Ailes to make money off of the Anti-Hillary Alt Right crowd

Let's clear up a couple of things. First, polls are anonymous. There is zero reasoning not to admit you're voting for Trump in a poll.

Secondly, to claim all of these Republican officials are pulling their support for Trump yet will still vote for him are just plain crazy. And even if it were true, it means very little. They are sending a message to everyone who supports them and votes for them, not to support or vote for Trump.

Now there's no doubt that Hillary is a terrible candidate. But to pretend Trump is somehow better simply because there is an R written on the ticket makes him a better candidate is foolish.

Neither of these two candidates have the moral character to be president of The United States. It's a cesspool. IMO, it's my duty as a voter to expect at least some minimum of character and morals in a president. Neither of these candidates meet that standard.

Correct. For me it simply comes down to do I want a liberal or conservative SCOTUS for my son to live with. That's all there is to vote on.

People aren't stupid, they see through the charade put forth by the Left, the bitter, biting, sneering, Left.

This election is not about Trump, it is about ending a system where those people rule, leading America to ruin.

I don't know 40.

Some people are led, some lead, some think, some believe everything they hear, some vote a certain way because they always have, some will be led to the poles and be told by "interpreters" how to vote, some will be coerced, some don't care and some don't understand, some are way to liberal to get out of their own way and some just

...........wait for it........wait for it......want to be part of history :-) again! As in a woman president. Uuugghh

Yes, but that last part seems to be losing its charm around the women I know. This isn't a woman for President, this is Hillary.

It's funny watching people slam these candidates as the worst.

Said it the 2012 election.

Said it in the 2008 election.

Heard it in the 2000 election.

And so on and so on.

At this point the "omg these candidates suck" rhetoric is losing its luster.

People been saying these candidates suck since before I was born.

So I dunno where people got these temporary moral high horses from. Maybe you guys got them on sale at Target during the election season. After that, it must expire, right?

Come crunch time, most of you are gonna vote for either one. Just like it has been for hundreds of years in this country.

So yea, please chill with the "we're screwed either way" or "whoever wins, we all lose"

Since the beginning of this country, SOMEBODY had to lose in this country. Nobody likes the same candidate. SOMEBODY always feel they're gonna get screwed depending on the candidate who wins.

Of course I can't make anybody stop saying anything. But the comments are beyond old now.

Just a friendly exchange between John Podesta, Chairman of Hillary's presidential campaign, and Jennifer Palmieri, Director of Communications for Hillary's campaign.

https://www.wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/4433?1

John Podesta (April 2015):
Quote:
I know she has begun to hate everyday Americans, but I think we should use it once the first time she says I'm running for president because you and everyday Americans need a champion.

I think if she doesn't say it once, people will notice and say we false started in Iowa.

Jennifer Palmieri in response:
Quote:
Truth

Suddenly the comments about tens of millions of Americans being 'deplorable' and 'irredeemable' are starting to make more sense. I should note here that a good faith interpretation of what John Podesta meant to say would be that [Hillary] has begun to hate the phrase everyday Americans, but you never know.

edit: added the rest of the Podesta email that is written above. (There's a chain of emails below the two in question.)

America is heading in a direction that we will be choosing come November.

Choose wisely because we will all be in the same boat when this is over.

I will be fall trout fishing for the next few weeks but I will be back to vote.

Yes, they do.

I have voted, sometimes having to hold my nose in order to do so, in every Presidential election that I have been eligible to vote in.

I am not voting for any Presidential candidate in this election.

The one thing I have found in this election is a person I will vote for should she seek wider office, and that is Capri Cafaro. She is a State Senator, and serves north of where I live. I never thought much of her, but I saw here on TV, and she really sounded like a reasonable person. If she seeks statewide office, I will absolutely consider her.

Kinda. But I understand his conservative viewpoint as to why.

So Trump is definitely going for the chaos strategy now. Full fledged Armageddon.

IMO the Rep party is just making themselves look worse every day. Trump won playing by their rules, now they act like spoiled little children wanting to take their ball and go home. Just how long do they think people will put up with their crap banghead

Random anecdote, sample size of one and all that:

Sometimes I take walks around my neighborhood, and there's one house that sticks out to me because the lawn and mulch work are always nothing short of immaculate. Friendly guy, beautiful family. He was the first person I can remember whose yard had a Trump sign in it. He also had a Rob Portman sign up for quite a while as well. Key word.. had.

I had a long post made about this but it was a bit disturbing, so I decided against it. If you're interested in its contents, check out Kathy Shelton's twitter feed from the last couple days (for all you old-timers out there, it's really pretty intuitive.)

https://twitter.com/kathyshelton_

In particular watch the video posted Oct. 10th and read the tweet below it as well.

All I would ask is that if you want to vote for Gary Johnson or Hillary Rodham Clinton because their world views closely match your own, so be it. I don't agree but I do understand. However, if in actuality, your views are closer to Trump's but you think you can't vote for him because of some of the outlandish things he has said, I ask you to reconsider. Read about Kathy Shelton's story or read any number of my posts for clarification on this. Words versus actions.

yes, absolutely consider your options.

its a really good message Haus said. i agree with him. consider your options.

So make sure you consider when voting for Trump.

when jews:

We learned about how Hitler rose to power by blaming Jews for all of Germany's problems, from the Treaty of Versailles to hyperinflation. How he launched his political career in 1920 with a speech that declared "citizenship determined by race with no Jew to be considered a German" and "religious freedom except for religions which endanger the German race."

How he claimed he would make Germany great again.

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/joshua-ostroff/jewish-response-trump-hitler_b_9399606.html

____________________

and actual German people start making the claim that Trump reminds them of Hitler, you should probably consider that. and take that seriously.

When white nationalist, neo nazi's, david duke, and other racist organizations feel empowered because Trump is running, you should probably consider that.

unless ofcourse, you agree with those kinds of ideologies.

So if you truly feel that as a conservative, you can't vote for Trump, but can't vote for Hillary either, do America a favor:

just stay home. don't vote. send the government a message and make this the lowest voter turnout in presidential history.

but don't vote for the guy who empowers the Alt-right movement. Don't vote for the guy that empowers rape culture, for that could be your daughter getting sexually assaulted by Trump and joked about on a radio show.

that could be your daughter who gets raped by a stanford athlete, with virtual no jail time, because Trump's message and actions, AND accusations, that is the type of culture and upbringing that tells these young men it's ok to do.

if you argued against transgendered using the same bathrooms because of the potential of rape, then how could you possibly vote for Trump?

Do America a favor, if you can't vote for Hillary, then just stay home. america will have more respect for you than if you vote for the frat boy who empowers racist, sexist, and everybody who fears those who don't look like them.

so yea, consider your choices.

You brought up some important issues and very real problems in the world. However, you should probably start a new thread as very little of it has anything to do with the election, Trump, or any other candidate for that matter.

I guess I have a real difficult time understanding what your criticism is regarding somebody bringing up race in a Presidential election thread. Race is one of the most important, raw and identifying discussions in this country and in this election. The dialogue is and will be ongoing and it should be welcomed so that we can live in a more tolerant society. To request one to be silent about it seems intolerant and crazy.

Ha! I saw that as well. Well it will be a wild 4 weeks-- that's for sure.

In all seriousness, I have a concern that whichever candidate wins this election will have their reputation just absolutely trashed. It won't exactly be easy for Hillary or Trump to recover and be an effective leader for all Americans. Well that was never going to be easy, but probably even more so due to how much hostility there is right now.
