So.... I'm done arguing with people about who sucks less.
My post up until Election Day will be strictly campaign strategy.
And boy oh boy...Trump needs to do something with regards to the women vote.
So apparently, there's a massive movement on social media called #reppealthe19th
A media site posted what the election would look like if only men voted: trump wins.
They also posted what the election Would look like if only women voted: Clinton wins.
And some guys started the hashtag trend. What's worse is they was dead ass serious.
So I'm not gonna comment on who's right or wrong, but again, campaign strategy, this is the last thing Trump needs to battle with.
There might be a record number of women voting this election, and that spells doom for trump. His campaign needs to do something to make it known they don't remotely hold those views. And he's gotta make some sort of appeal to women.
I feel bad for trump because this is the first time he has nothing to do with these things and is still being attached to it. One could make the argument that he certainly had it coming, but I dunno. At this point it's all but set in stone that he won't be getting their votes.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I also want to say that Trumps biggest mistake was not running as a third party candidate.
Trump got sucked into the GOP and ended up losing the appeal he had that was gaining cross over votes to begin with.
He stopped spreading the message of taking care of vets and such. There's so many platforms that he could've taken that would've made all this recent stuff kinda fly under the radar.
If he would've PUSHED these platforms:
Legalize marijuana
Reform the criminal justice system
Women's rights, women's health
He would've had this election by the throat. The minority vote could've very well been his.
But he didn't push any of those issues. Even if he was for it, nobody would know, because he never brings it up.
Trump was doomed the moment he started trying to get the conservative base. Instead of trying to appeal to all, he ended up only appealing to some.
I blame the GOP for that.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
It's only going to get harder for republicans too as younger generations are able to vote. Instead of trying to appeal or listen to millennials the right has done nothing but disrespect an entire generation. They're going to reap the consequences from here on out.
I'm posting this as I've posted a lot of this guy's stuff. Thought it would be only fair to post this as well. I don't see Trump winning at this stage either. I might bet on Trump if I could get 10:1 odds on it or something.
(posting mainly for the persuasion and prediction-related stuff in the beginning of this post, and not for the male/female discussion at the end.)
If the latest groping/kissing allegations against Trump hold up – and I assume they will, based on quantity if not credibility – it won’t matter what Wikileaks says about Clinton. She will win easily.
If Clinton wins, you’ll wonder if this invalidates the Master Persuader Hypothesis. The short answer is no, because the concept doesn’t account for unknowns of this magnitude. If a meteor had struck Trump a day before election day, it wouldn’t say much about his skill as a persuader. The Master Persuasion Hypothesis worked splendidly until the double-whammy of the Access Hollywood tape and the “octopus” meteor.
Trump could still win, but only if some new and unexpected meteor strikes Clinton. Here’s how I see it through the persuasion filter:
1. Facts and policies stopped mattering months ago. No one cares.
2. Wikileaks has no meteors to offer. The Wikileaks misdeeds involve people who are not Clinton, and they involve issues that are boring and a bit complicated. The public will not be much influenced by them.
3. The “octopus” line about Trump is engineered persuasion of the highest order. It makes the story deeply visual and extra-creepy. Godzilla, or someone similarly skilled, is probably behind that word. It’s too engineered for a civilian to concoct during an interview. That’s professional work. And it’s probably a golden stake through Trump’s political heart. (Well played.)
This is a good time to remind you that I endorse Gary Johnson because he only touches himself.
Anyway, getting to the point of this post, if Clinton wins, it will be because women voted for her in landslide proportions while men (on average) preferred Trump. And that means two things of historic importance.
1. We will elect the first woman to be President of the United States. That’s good for everyone.
and…
2. Everything that goes wrong with the country from this point forward is women’s fault.
I feel some relief about that. The next four years are likely to be some of the worst in our country’s history. The Republican establishment will make sure of that because a failed America is in their best interest in the short run. Four years from now they want to offer their chosen savior (Paul Ryan). Trump would have a good chance of bullying the Republican establishment as he has done so far. Clinton, not so much. She’ll be buried in scandals, both real and imagined.
Men had a good run. We invented almost everything, and that’s cool. But we also started all of the wars and committed most of the crimes. It’s a mixed record to be sure. Now it’s time for something different, apparently.
Hillary Clinton is all yours, ladies. She and her alleged rapist husband are your brand now. Wear them well.
He might have just nailed it with everything being the woman's fault.
It happened with Obama. He got blamed for everything.
"Thanks, Obama" didn't just come from nowhere.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I think one of the biggest problems we face as a society and politics is that neither liberals or conservatives give the opposition a fair shake when they become president.
It's never "ok, you're here, let's see what you got"
People are opposing any and everything that person will do, day one.
I think that's a problem.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
If your Hillary, do you put the stake in Trump yourself or let him do it?
She's too calculating to say something as dumb as the deplorables comment. She's going to (in football terms) punt and play defense.
she could go and put the dagger in Trump herself and all but guarantee a win in the Election.
But for the long term, it's better if she let's Trump hang himself. let social media handle it. Because the more she goes directly at Trump, the more she's gonna see opposition in congress when it comes to trying to get policy push through.
She's already gonna face a nasty task of dealing with the Party of No, assuming they keep the majority. So she doesn't need to add anymore hatred than she already has.
She just has to run a basic campaign at this point, and focus on what she's gonna do with the Supreme court situation. She already has the upper hand, as congress painted themselves in a corner with not confirming Garland.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
True, but they still have to make sure they don't fight the wrong issue.
One bad move, and the plug get pulled.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
If Hillary doesn't go off on Trump, I guarantee Obama has been begging for a story like this to personally nail Trump. He's speaking in Ohio right now.
White House Watch White House Watch: Trump Takes the Lead in Politics
Thursday, October 13, 2016
The full results from Sunday night’s debate are in, and Donald Trump has come from behind to take the lead over Hillary Clinton.
The latest Rasmussen Reports White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Trump with 43% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Clinton’s 41%. Yesterday, Clinton still held a four-point 43% to 39% lead over Trump, but that was down from five points on Tuesday and her biggest lead ever of seven points on Monday
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Swish, after further thought you're right. She needs to think long term. Let the Trump allegations play out and not mention anything. Try to look like an adult for once. Don't do something stupid and hold a press conference with Trumps accusers. Show to the GOP that your willing to work with them. Trump is a garbage human being that represents some of the nastiest parts of the GOP.
However, there are people hurting. Show compassion to the Trump supporters who are scared right now. Don't beat them into a bloody pulp. Acknowledge that the government has failed them and take responsibility for past mistakes. Liberals need to stop labeling conservatives. There are some disgusting individuals on the right, but there are genuinely good human beings who feel that they have been wronged. Actually talk to these people.
It's gonna be hard to have any sort of real dialogue with a base who still think Obama is a Muslim.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
What makes me sick to my stomach is a candidate that insults millions of people and then tries to appeal to them. Do you really think I'm that stupid comes to mind. This goes for all candidates when they do their fake pivot to center.
I travel a lot. both drive and fly. For the last few weeks I have been keeping track of yard signs and bumper stickers to gauge the election. Obviously a very small sample size but I have noticed a few strange things.
1) I don't see a lot of either. Most election cycles I notice yard signs everywhere. Darn near on every 3rd yard. I just don't see it. In fact I see more local/state election signs than President.
2) I typically see anywhere from 8-12 Trump/Pence signs before I see a Clinton/Kaine sign.
3) In the last week I've seen only one Presidential Bumper sticker and it read "Trump for President" so I can only assume that it was a Primary bumper sticker.
In past elections I saw plenty of signs and bumper stickers. Heck I saw more Kerry/Edwards and Obama/Biden stickers in the last week than any Candidate.
So why is that? My only conclusion is most people dislike either candidate. There is no energy and it seems like most people who have made up their mind are either:
a: A party shill and would rational voting for Hitler if that was their party's candidate.
b: Extremely dislikes one candidate and is voting for the other person to "make sure" the one they hate doesn't get elected.
This is a really weird election cycle. Just my thoughts.
Now I wonder after all these leaks, if people on here can finally believe there are people in positions of power who are plotting on every day Americans in an attempt to gain more wealth/power?
Trump is pulling out of Colorado and Virginia. Which is a disasterous mistake. He has basically been FORCED to win North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. He loses any of those 4 and he's done.
The former New York City mayor said Wednesday that he heard the Democratic presidential nominee “say one day that she was there that day,” at Ground Zero after the attacks on the World Trade Center towers.
“I was there that day. I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there,” he told the crowd at a Trump rally in Ocala, Florida, during a long rant against Clinton.

"I made a mistake. I'm wrong and I apologize," Giuliani told The Associated Press.
Way to go Rudy......Your turn Hillary...let's start with the video and the jailed producer and go from there.
She's too calculating to say something as dumb as the deplorables comment. She's going to (in football terms) punt and play defense.
LMAO we all know what playing prevent defense does. It prevents you from winning.
You're right, but if the other team keeps turning the ball over, it works.
I expect Hillary to win, but going forward Liberals and the Democratic Party needs to do some reflection on the freak show display on their part. You will win because the other side is a complete mess. It's not something Dems should be proud of. You've merely delayed your own internal civil war long enough to survive this election cycle. It's going to cost them future elections if they don't get their act together. Dems should actually be jealous of republicans. At least the republican base got the candidate they wanted. There's a very strong argument to be made that the Dems wanted Bernie and were robbed of him. It's going to show up in the polls.
They need to start listening to those who are hurting and not just around voting time. On the republican side, I'm not even going to touch what the hell has happened the past year. If they think what is going on right now is okay, they're in for a rude awakening the next few decades at the polls.

Here's Hillary in a nutshell:
- "Pay for play" Want something done in Washington? Better pay up. The bigger the favor, the bigger the contribution. She's crooked like a bad politician
- She's a war hawk with bad judgement and paid for by Wall Street, like a bad Republican
- She's insultingly pandering to various groups as if they are helpless, like a bad Democrat
Add in the various lies (including about lying), incompetence (private server, buying old and unsupported blackberries off of eBay putting sensitive information at risk because new phones are hard to use) and real concerns about how well she will be able to hold up for 4-8 years (see passing out during 9/11 memorial, various coughing fits and seizures although she has looked and sounded a lot better in the last month) and we have all around nightmare of a candidate.
Of all the people I know who will vote for Hillary, the vast majority will do so for one or two reasons:
1) She's a Democrat 2) She's not Donald Trump
The only person on this board who has enthusiastically embraced her is PDX and for that I give him credit. No sarcasm. I respect someone who will take a position and defend it well. That's also not a cheap shot at anybody who chooses not to publicly endorse a candidate; I realize that opens someone up to a lot of headache and some people just don't want to deal with the nonsense.
It's only going to get harder for republicans too as younger generations are able to vote. Instead of trying to appeal or listen to millennials the right has done nothing but disrespect an entire generation. They're going to reap the consequences from here on out.
This I agree with. I can see no way forward for the Republican party. Not only the millennial vote but that of immigrants and blacks. Not sure we can ever have another Repub in the top office.
I do see a vaible third party option arising from this hot mess when the libs go off the rails and the country has enough. It will happen with what's left of our country.
Longtime Donald Trump surrogate Newt Gingrich on Thursday smacked down the Republican nominee, saying “little Trump is frankly pathetic.” With Trump’s campaign in a tailspin as more women accuse the billionaire of groping them, Gingrich lamented how Trump is reacting by lashing out at House Speaker Paul Ryan, who abandoned the nominee earlier this week. Story Continued Below
“Look, first of all, let me just say about Trump, who I admire and I’ve tried to help as much as I can. There’s a big Trump and a little Trump,” Gingrich said on Fox Business Thursday morning in a comment that evoked Trump's slam on Marco Rubio as "Little Marco." “The little Trump is frankly pathetic. I mean, he’s mad over not getting a phone call?” Trump at a rally in Florida on Wednesday lashed out at Ryan for not offering his congratulations after Sunday night’s debate. “Instead of calling me and saying, ‘Congratulations, you did a great job, you absolutely destroyed her in the debate like everybody said,’” Trump said, as he went on to bemoan other ways he’s been jilted this election. Gingrich on Thursday morning said Trump needs to focus his energy on Hillary Clinton and to stop being distracted. “Donald Trump has one opponent. Her name is Hillary Clinton. Her name is not Paul Ryan. It’s not anybody else,” he said.
So, can any conservatives explain to me what's happening in the republican party right now?
here's the challenge: Don't mention Hillary.
this should be good.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
What is happening is there is a disconnect between what a significant portion of the Republican base wants and what the politicians are actually doing in Washington. This is leading to some chaos within the party.
Of all the people I know who will vote for Hillary, the vast majority will do so for one or two reasons:
1) She's a Democrat 2) She's not Donald Trump
I have a lot of far left friends (Bernie and Pacific Green Party folks) who are only voting for her because of the SCOTUS. We are not a swing state so, they could vote for whoever they want and it really wouldn't matter as I think it is fairly certain the entire west coast will go for Clinton. But, even in an election where the furthest left feel disenfranchised the prospect of potentially 4 SCOTUS nominations is enough to get them to vote for HRC.

Well, with all due respect I am not sure if I have "enthusiastically embraced" her. However, you are correct that I have felt for a long time that she is not only the most qualified but, also the most respected (abroad) of the candidates. For that, I have advocated her as a legit choice. She has a steely spine, which is good (even Trump commented on her "not giving up" and is a "fighter"...which was somewhat contradictory to him previously criticising she didn't have the stamina. Seems to me to "never give up" means you have a lot of stamina). Her time as Senator, First Lady, SoS and obviously Bill's knowledge gives her much insight into the job and she can walk in tomorrow and do it. Can she do it well? That remains to be seen and we all had to walk into jobs before and prove we could do it to the best of our ability. But, she knows all the world players and she knows how the world works. For that alone...she seems the obvious choice.
There was a time where my head and my heart were in conflict and I was leaning more towards Sanders as I believe 100% in education and health care being a right rather than a privilege. But, in the end she won the Dem nomination and while I agree she has her flaws in my opinion, Clinton's issues are nowhere near as reprehensible as Trump's.
Because Clinton is a polarizing figure I do think this was potentially the best chance for the Republicans to win but, I don't see it happening now with the candidate they have chosen. I also agree with Cjrae...unless the GOP seriously regroup and soul search I don't know how they will recover from this election. The country is changing and the GOP refuses to embrace the change. The war within their own party between the tea party, far right, evangelical & fiscal mod conservative is far more divisive than the mod left and far left of the Dem party. Add to it, demographically the traditional red states like Texas look very different today than 20-30-40 years ago. One day, and I firmly believe this...in our lifetime, Texas will vote blue and that will change everything for the GOP.
I 100% agree that a viable third party is in EVERYBODY'S best interest. However, it needs to be a party that can poll 30+% and it also needs to be a party that can put up respectable candidates as well. Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are not it. Bernie, however, would have been the PERFECT 3rd party rep. Could he have polled 30%? That's the question but, he could have made enough noise to get into the debates and he potentially could have disrupted enough to get people to swing to his side. We all know Trump's staunchest supporters will go out and vote. They are loud and proud but, are there enough of them to win? From where I live up here in the Pacific NW....I simply can't see it happening. But, I grew up in Ohio and understand that region well. So, a part of me is still worried.
