Our backs are not as bad as you say. Johnson was good when used, and Crowell came on strong at the end of the season.

I like yoga, especially the stuff with blueberries in it. I eat it with a spoon right out of the container.

jc...

After 5 years with Haslam as owner, is there anyone who believe that the 'new regime' would not trade Joe Thomas?

It was just 6 months ago, in the middle of last season, that Haslam and Sashi were part of the group trying to work out a trade to send JT to Denver.

...then came the news that Mingo, Mack and Kruger were also on the block and the headline was "Brown having a Fire Sale".
link

There is no feeling of family or that the Browns truly have "a team" with these guys running the show...it's always...IT'S JUST BUSINESS.

I believe Joe is smart enough to read these guys and knows he could be traded at any time.

I don't believe that we can cut a player while he is under suspension. He is not, legally, a member of the team while he is suspended, his contract is inactive, and the team can have no contact with the player.

10 seconds after he is reinstated, the team can cut him ..... but I don't think they can until then.

If Joe gets traded tonight, and I honestly can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope it's to Seattle because they're setup the best to get Joe what he has earned, a ring, before the man hangs his cleats up.

Sadly to say but I don't want to see the man's last years being served on a team in full rebuild mode. He's been in that spot pretty much his entire career.

And before someone takes a stab, I'm in no way lobbying to trade Joe... whatsoever. That's my guy right there, but outta respect for the All Pro, he deserves to achieve something that won't be within our team's grasp and probably not for many years.

=( end of depressing post.

If there's one thing we should know well, as Browns fans, it's morbidity. crazy

I do suspect that Joe Thomas could be traded today ..... and put the chance of it happening at around 40%. His value is very high, and he is on the wrong side of 30. I don't think that we give him away, but if we get some ridiculous offer (which is possible) I think we jump on it.

If we can land a decent OT for playing opposite of Joe and our C works out then we could make a surprise push with rg3 as our QB or hell even a healthy Josh. Josh was playing pretty darn good last year for a Browns QB. Now we have a #1 WR and possibly a #2 if gordon makes it back. This year could get interesting.

With the first round past, I think the odds of trading Joe go to zero. If we play as poorly as we think we will, those odds start to go up near the trade deadline.

I'm feeling pretty certain too no trade will be carried out now the first has passed. I, kind of, was gearing up for it yesterday and it never happened.

Now we just need to win and let Joe savior the fruits of all his efforts.

Well I know that the first round has passed and Joe Thomas is still here where he belongs.

Also to note draft day with those guys with twitter and all the things anything talked about trades they catch wind of something...Not a soul or sound for that matter about us asking around/shopping of Joe Thomas.

So no our new guys are not tanking this season we actually wish to win. Will do our best to have the team out there to do so.

BEREA, Ohio -- An 0-5 start and a long-term rebuild have not changed Joe Thomas' resolve to finish his career with the Cleveland Browns.

The Pro Bowl left tackle will not ask to be traded at the Nov. 1 deadline, according to a source close to Thomas.

Thomas, 31, almost was traded a year ago to Denver at the deadline, but the Browns backed out. Had he gone to the Broncos, Thomas would have won a Super Bowl.

He stayed in Cleveland, went through another coaching change and is currently on the only winless team in the NFL.

Given his tenure, dependability, talent and age, Thomas could reasonably ask for a trade and not cause problems. He has played for one winning team in Cleveland since 2007, and his window to get to the playoffs closes a little every season.

But Thomas wants to stay with the Browns, the source said.

Thomas had no comment on the upcoming trade deadline.

The Browns do not comment on trades or potential trades, but the team has made it clear in the past months it does not want to trade Thomas. Coach Hue Jackson has had nothing but positive things to say about his left tackle as well.

Speculation about Thomas being traded starts every year around the deadline, and it will stir this year given the way the Browns have overhauled their roster.

The Browns are in the early stages of a multiyear rebuild, so Thomas could look at the situation and say that by the time the team is ready to win he may be 33 or 34 -- autumn for an offensive lineman.

But Thomas likes Jackson, and he likes Cleveland. Though he expressed disappointment with more change after last season, the hiring of Jackson seemed to energize him. He lives in suburban Cleveland year-round and would like to finish his career with the team that drafted him.

This does not guarantee a trade will not happen; another team might make an offer the Browns can't refuse.

But finding a deal will be tougher than a year ago, when Denver was in need of a left tackle and the match was nearly perfect. The Browns backed out in the final minutes.

Finding a trade partner this year means finding a team that needs a left tackle and is willing to plug in a 31-year-old.

Another player who will surely be the subject of trade chatter is cornerback Joe Haden.

However, his contract makes him a difficult acquisition. A team that acquires him would be responsible for $5.34 million of his 2016 salary cap cost.

His cap cost increases to $11.2 million in 2017 and $11.1 million in 2018; $4 million of his 2017 base salary is guaranteed.

The Browns would likely want a first- or second-round pick for Haden.

that's a classy move IMO. not sure what his motivations are to stay, but I hope he does.

I think he likes the town and wants to take over for Deke as the color man on radio broadcasts in 3-4 years.

I wish he'd honestly do it too. For two reasons.

1. He's good in front of the camera. In the past few seasons he's had a more public/happy-go-lucky persona, probably because he realizes to not take things too seriously ... we suck, so why not embrace it.

2. I can't stand Dieken. I literally can't listen to the radio during the games.

I like Deke alright, though I can't pick up the radio broadcast down here. Wish I could. Maybe it's from when I was a kid, but I like to listen to radio calls. There was a time in the 60's that the home games were never on TV because the stadium was never sold out. There were a number of obstructed view seats that never sold, and Art always had some standing room only ticlets for sale, so listening on the radio was the only avenue to the team. It didn't matter that there were always 82,000+ people in the stadium.

I can pick up WTAM after dark, so I listen to a lot of Indians games. Takes me back to listening to Jimmy Dudley and Bob Neal, then Bob Neal and Herb Score. That's going back a ways.

I get WTAM after dark too, and I'm not sure why that is haha

But can't you get the radio stream on the Browns website? Not sure if you have directv, or just prefer to listen to the radio, but I think the link is on there

I hope he stays. As much as I'd like to see him get a ring, we may be drafting a QB very high to start next year. I'd like to have an established LT be in place for that situation.
