He can to a degree compensate with timing. But what can happen is that: he will telegraph the throw and guys will jump the route because there will be time to make that move.

There is no comparison to Wentz. Wentz is just a bigger stronger guy who can make every throw required.

That does not mean that Cody can not be effective. It simply means he has limitations.

I agree 100% with everything u said Mr. Fish ... 100% ...

The reason i didn't mind the pick was because being an ND fan I follow USC closely .. If I was picking my QB the #1 and 2 things i would lick for are:

1 - BRAINS
1A - ACCURACY ...

Arm strength is nice .. but w/o brains and accuracy who knows when the ball is going to go to the right spot and if we do pick the right receiver out are we going to be able to put it in a spot where he can catch it ...

Kessler was both .. smart and accurate ...

And IMO Wentz is a slightly more atheletic STRONGER ARMED Cody ... agree 100% that cody has LIMITATIONS ... everyone wants to compare Cody to Dalton .. well I just don't see it .. Cody is way SMARTER than Dalton and Dalton has a SRONG ARM compared to Cody .. don't go off the deep end fella's .. Dalton does not have a strong arm ... unless u want to compare it to Cody's .. smile ...

As I watched the game today .. I was looking particularly for the 20 - 25 yard throws down the middle and pretty much any balls he threw to either sideline ..

After his first couple throws I could tell he was affected by his chest injury ... so it just wasn't a fair day to start judging those throws ..

I'm on board with letting Cody finish the year. He's very solid and could turn into great. when it comes to arm strength, that can be added up to 35 yards.

Also, keep in mind many QB's like Peyton Manning hand 0 arm strength. He couldn't throw the ball 35 yards without putting a ton of air on it.

I picked up on that.

I'd have thought trigger happy more than gun-shy, but I get a bit twitchy myself sometimes.

As far as Kessler, he has some good and some bad. He needs to improve his eyes, he's been telegraphing his passes some. He does seem to have good intangibles, but not the greatest physical attributes. Maybe he can improve them, maybe not. He flashes nice accuracy. He did seem to be missing a bit of his already not great velocity, but he has taken a beating.

I wish he'd had more reps earlier and had a healthier supporting cast now, but being capable of dealing with adversity is a necessity in the NFL. He's performing admirably considering the situation. While he might not ever be an "elite" QB, he looks like he'll be a serviceable backup as a floor. As much as we go through QBs, that's valuable.

What do I think? One step closer to an inevidble 0-16 season. I don't see anyone left on our schedule we could beat. Now, what's the old adage about that oblong ball taking unusual bounces? The thing is going to have to take about forty of those unusual bounces for us to win. Probably because 30 of 'em will not be in our favor.

Is Haden done? He can't seem to get and stay healthy. I've never be4n a huge Haden fan. Gets burned deep too much.

I think Haden is more about Haden than Haden leads on.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think, barring any MORE injuries, we should be at least competitive in almost every game we have left.

I assume Ben will be back for week 17, so I'm expecting the usual blowout, but if we get Landry Jones on Nov 20th, I could see us being in that one..

We have a lot of inconsistent teams left to play, and all we can do is try to keep getting better..

The pressure is on them now, not to be the team that loses to us..

There's no way Ben misses more than one game IMO. Their bye week falls in a good place.

We won't win a division game, we won't win at Buffalo. We won't beat Dallas.

Maybe we can nip the Giants, Jets, or Chargers

Curious why you think we couldnt beat Balt or CIN but can beat NYG or SD.

I think people must have visions of last year's Cincy in their minds. They have been just horrible this year. And I dont believe Eifert will be healthy either.

you had a good run Hank.

I'm good with whatever the record is at the end of this season. I feel like the team is moving in the right direction and I haven't felt like that in a very long time. Let them take all the lumps they need to build the team right. It's not like people are laughing at us any harder than previous years.

Basically because the Giants defense has been very poor and their rush O not much better. SD coming east, near the very end of the year with a cursed franchise like us.

Cincy/Balt will be more physical and basically know they'll beat us.
