I was hoping someone would start a new thread.
Great game last night. Another masterful job by Tito in handling his pitching staff and credit to the pitchers for accepting whatever is asked of them.
I have been very impressed w/Coco. He makes the kind of plays it takes to win games. He gave himself up for 3 or so pitches last night to give another guy an opportunity to steal. The guy didn't go, but that is being a good teammate.
I wish Perez would have bunted and we would have tried the squeeze in the 9th. That extra run could have been huge.
Santana kind of gets on my nerves. A lead off hitter who doesn't bunt when the shift is on? [I know he did it once.] He also tries to muscle the ball when all we need is a base hit.
I love Lindor and the second baseman. I always forget his name. Two excellent players. I do think Perez has the trust of the pitchers, though.

According to my calculations:
Teams that win the first three games of a seven game series win the series more than 50% of the time.
I wont sleep tight yet. Not until it's over.
But, what a sweet cushion to possibly head to the World Series.

I quit watching MLB years ago. I watched college and high school games, but not the MLB because I got sick of hearing the constant talk about steroids and labor disputes. I watch to be entertained. Not to be lectured. Anyway, I just started watching because the Indians were in the playoffs and I have to say that the games have been very entertaining. A couple of the dawgs have been trying to educate me about the team. I appreciate the knowledge. Plus, at my age..........I'm not so good on names.

50%?? Umm.. Unless my memory is faulty.. there has been one ONE team that has swept the remaining 4 games to win after being down 3 - 0...
2004 - Boston Red Sox (down 0-3) over New York Yankees (4-3)

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I wont sleep tight yet. Not until it's over. Cleveland fans, that's what we do. I cringe every time I hear those stats when we are trying to close out a game... This guy for Toronto has never hit a homerun off a right handed pitcher... Indians closer hasn't blown a save on the road all year... I know it's their job but.... please stop it.

Damn, I wanted to score first.
This is why I didn't want to start Kluber today. I assume the Blue Jays bats will eventually warm up a bit and win a game. If that game is today, it's against our short-rested ace that we can't have back until Game 7.
I assume Tomlin goes tomorrow....but what about game 6?

tough pitching here by both teams. Gonna be tough to close out today
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

bad news: Tribe lost good news: still up 3-1 with 2 of 3 at home

bad news: Tribe lost good news: still up 3-1 with 2 of 3 at home This was my worry about starting Kluber on 3 days rest. We now have to go to bullpen games, and if it goes 7, we go back to Kluber on 3 days rest again, while their pitchers are on full rest.

Right, if we don't win this game we're behind the 8-ball for the rest of the series.
I think it was a bit much to assume we should sweep, but man I want this over.

Well, looks like the Jays are gonna get one today.

Well, looks like the Jays are gonna get one today. I really dislike them. They are whiny, cocky and incredibly over-confident. I can't believe Encarnacion actually turned and talked trash to our dugout when he got the two run single. Seriously, dude? We were still up 3-0 in the series at that point. The swifter we can do away with that bunch of a-holes the better....

also, I'm glad that the Indians lost tonight. it would have been too much pressure to have that in the WS. they can get that loss out of the way and get back to winning.
Meh.

another loss in game 5 might make me nervous. You never know then.
But we can win tomorrow

i think starting kluber today was a bad call, just about every statistic pointed to us losing atleast 1, worst case you have 4 games to win 1 and you could have pitched him on regular rest tomorrow. I've said hitting is going to hurt us eventually, and its catching up to us, we simply have to hit, we can't expect pitchers to go out and only give up 1 or 2 runs a game. That being said all the pressure is still on toronto and i hope they choke on it, what a bunch of whiny female dogs
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne

Why are these games so stinking early!?!?!? i was wondering that too, you would think it being ALCS they'd want prime time coverage.
