Well, Cubs just made it to the world series. I think I've seen one game of theirs all year, I have no idea how we match up against them, here's hoping we win in 5 games.

Tribe got no love through any of their series...even with home field...You know we will be the huge underdogs and from now until we win it will be how the Cubs are the team of destiny and a media love fest...blah blah blah...

I think both teams are a media love fest - Indians not winning since 1948 and the Cubs not being in the World Series since 1945, and not winning since 1908. Two great story lines, can't wait!!! smile

True...either way should be a fun series to watch and just plain enjoy- so many subplots. I can hopefully erase the 1997 Jose Mesa home run from my memory ...much like all those years of the Bulls beating the Cavs! smile

I hate the 2-3-2 Schedule.

So was Boston. So was Toronto.

This is perfect.

Cavs beat the best the NBA had to offer.

Indians face the best MLB has to offer.

4 games, 5 games, 6 games, 7 games. I don't care how many it takes as long as we win 4 of them.

Cleveland Indians owner Paul Dolan will fly all team employees to a World Series road game

World Series 2016

Cleveland Indians owner Paul Dolan will fly all team employees to a World Series road game

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- There is guaranteed to be at least a smattering of Indians fans at Wrigley Field for Games 3 and 4 of the World Series.

Well, Indians employees, to be more specific.

Tribe owner Paul Dolan is flying all of the organization's full-time staff members and their significant others to a World Series game, a source told cleveland.com. Half will attend Game 3 on Friday night in Chicago. The other half will attend Game 4 on Saturday night.

Dolan will pay for round-trip flights, game tickets, lunch and dinner for approximately 300 people. A source said he was prepared to follow the same plan in 2007, but the Indians fell one victory short of a World Series berth.

This marks the franchise's sixth appearance in the Fall Classic. The Indians claimed the championship in 1920 and 1948, but came up empty in 1954, 1995 and 1997. The team's 68-year drought is only topped by that of the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland's opponent for the next week or two. The Cubs last won the title in 1908.

It has been a year for ending droughts in the sports world. The Cavaliers snapped the city of Cleveland's 52-year championship hex when they dismissed the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals in June. Cavs owner Dan Gilbert paid for team employees to attend one of the first two games of the Finals in Oakland.

The Indians, by virtue of the American League's triumph in the All-Star Game, will have home-field advantage for the World Series. They will host Games 1 and 2, and, if necessary, Games 6 and 7 at Progressive Field. The Cubs will welcome the Indians to Wrigley Field over the weekend for Games 3 and 4 and, if necessary, Game 5.

According to ESPN.com, the average price of a ticket for each of the three potential games in Chicago is more than $3,000 and the average price of a ticket for Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland is $1,000.

Yes, the Cubs are a powerhouse.

They were the preseason favorites by many pundits to take the National League crown this year.

That's a gutsy thing for a "pundit" to say. (picking a team that hasn't won the league championship in 70+ years)

Good way to lose your "pundit status". But they didn't. They're geniuses. The Cubs are for real.

They could roll the Indians.

Francona will have to pull a miracle.

PS. "Look... the sky is falling."

Indians release tentative plans for World Series pitching rotation

JOHN ALFES7:24 PM

An unofficial version of the Cleveland Indians starting pitching plans was released on Sunday afternoon in preparation for the 2016 MLB World Series against the Chicago Cubs.

One pitcher has a lacerated right pinkie (Trevor Bauer).

One pitcher is aiming for a potential return from a right forearm strain (Danny Salazar).

One pitcher is already receiving gifts for his upcoming wedding in January (Ryan Merritt).

In short, the Cleveland Indians starting rotation has experienced a whirlwind of emotions this past week.

Manager Terry Francona and staff released an unofficial plan of who they would like to start Games 1 through 3 in the 2016 edition of the MLB World Series...

Game 1 (Tuesday): RHP Corey Kluber (18-9, 3.14) at 8:08 PM ET from Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH

Game 2 (Wednesday): RHP Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.26) at 8:08 PM ET from Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH

Game 3 (Friday): RHP Josh Tomlin (13-9, 4.40) at 8:08 PM ET from Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL

*All games will be televised by FOX.

Due to a drone-related incident and blood-gushing scene in Game 3 of the ALDS, Bauer could potentially swap spots with Tomlin in an effort to provide him with further recovery time.

Indians starting pitchers for Games 4 through 7 have yet to be announced.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon has not announced his starting pitching plans as of Sunday evening.

Game 1 of the World Series commences on Tuesday at 8:08 PM ET from Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH.

No way is Bauer pitching Game 2, unless Tito figures it'll end up being a bullpen game (not as much as last time hopefully). I don't see how an 11-stitch cut would be ready for multiple innings of abuse.

Random World Series betting question. If you had a $500 sports book credit and it could only be used to bet on one of the teams, do you bet with your heart or head (assuming there's a difference)?

bet with my head .... I'd put it on the Cubs to win the series

I'm trying to think of any scenario where I'd realistically bet on the browns to win a game

Time for some folks to step up and eat some crow for calling the Dolan's cheap over, and over again around here. The last several years all we heard was a lot of folks crying because our payroll didn't equal that of the Yankees, Red Sox, or Tigers tsktsk

It's probably going to cost him over a Million bucks. So sure that's cheaper than throwing 25 million a year at ONE player. But it also proves he is not cheap.
