We watch deadliest catch alot. This brings me back to my grandpa. He was the Captain of the sand boat out of Sandusky. Before I was in 1st grade I was on every Great lake except Ontario. I'm sure he let me drive the boat while setting in his lap. I knew before they left Sandusky I would check to see if there was hot chocolate on board i was going too.
When he retired we brought him up to the locks in Michigan. He and I sat there as his sight had passed I would tell him the name of the ship and he would tell me the length the Captain and everything about the ship.
Gosh he gave me my love for boating. Why I have owned alot of boats over the years. Looking for a different one next summer. I will sell my bike and get back on the water.

I crabbed fish out of Ducth Harbor, Alaska back in the mid 80's on a boat called the Neptune...dungy's, red king, blue king, and bairdi. was the hardest toughest funnest job I ever had...we pulled a 120 hours a week...yea would never do it again tho lol

Ver's not only was my grandpa a great man now this is not PC as we were getting older we had to get our first drunk on at Christmas at his house before we hit double digits in age. To this day I will never drink Seagram's again.

I used o to have this little boat that I would take out on my Grandpas pond

The two happiest days of a boat owner are the day it is bought and the day it is sold That said, I really really miss not having a boat. I grew up in Toledo and my dad always had a boat we docked in Luna Pier, MI. Columbus boating stinks - if I lived in northern Ohio I'd sell my Cobra and buy a boat in a second. I miss it so much!

Hooters has good deals on crabs. I dont need to go to Alaska to get some. It's said that the state of Nevada is in the top 2 states for catching crabs. Least that's what I hear. On the lighter side, my wife and I had a 28' Carver docked in Sandusky Bay for 15ish years. Nice weekend getaways + I love to fish.
