Yup, this is what I'm doing as well. I don't agree on all issues with either candidate but will vote for the one I agree with most or there's a better chance of what I want getting done if they go into office.

But I heard a local commercial for Trump earlier that was niot endorsed by Trump, or his campaign. Just a local businessman who bought a little airtime to give his opinion on why we should vote for Trump.

This lameazz argument has been foistered on the American Public since 1777.... and yet, we're still here.

What I find interesting is this commonality: it has always been spouted by those who are most p*ssed off about what's happening now. And usually, it's the oldest among us, railing against contemporary life... because it doesn't look like it did- when old folks were actually young folks.

Consider: America during The '60's.
Civil unrest, coast-to-coast. An unpopular war. A lack of public confidence in government. Sound familiar? I was just an impressionable young kid during that time, but I can remember 'generational arguments' that happened at Thanksgiving dinners and family reunions. Arguments that sound a lot like what's happening in this thread. Grandpappys pitted against Uncles & Aunts.

The '60's were 3 generations ago.... and America survived.

So... here we are now... and you're saying the exact same things that I heard- when I was 5, 7, 9 years old.

I miss the days when radical extremists on the right said that the world was coming to an end because of the rapture. I see they've decided to mix things up now.

Illegal immigrant families are streaming across the border at record pace, according to new Border Patrol statistics released Friday morning that show more than 32,000 have been caught trying to sneak into the U.S.
That’s nearly 40 percent higher than the previous record of 2014, and it’s well more than double last year’s pace, suggesting that the government’s relaxed enforcement policies have backfired and invited a new wave of illegal crossers.
There’s somewhat better news when it comes to children traveling alone. The record pace has slackened slightly — though an uptick in March suggests that the warmer months could once again see a massive wave at the southwest border.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson had thought he’d licked the problem two years ago, after surging manpower to the border. And indeed the numbers did drop in late 2014 and early 2015.
But the pace of both families and unaccompanied children picked up last summer, just as Mr. Johnson announced new relaxed rules for detaining illegal immigrants, and it has remained high ever since.

Republican Sen. Mark Kirk sniped at his Democratic challenger Tammy Duckworth by questioning her family's heritage.
Duckworth was sharing a story about her family's military service record during an Illinois debate Thursday night.
"My family has served this nation in uniform going back to the Revolution. I am a daughter of the American Revolution," Duckworth said. "I’ve bled for this nation. But I still want to be there in the Senate when the drums of war sound. Because people are quick to sound the drums of war, and I want to be there to say this is what it costs, this is what you’re asking us to do."

"And if that's the case, I'll go. It's the families like mine that bleed first," Duckworth continued. "But let's make sure that the American people understand what we are engaging in and let's hold our allies accountable because we can't do it all."
Kirk rebutted, "I’d forgotten that your parents came all the way from Thailand to serve George Washington.”
Awkward silence followed his rebuttal — Duckworth didn't respond to Kirk — and the moderator moved onto the next question.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee quickly bashed Kirk for his comments, saying his attack on Duckworth's family was "offensive, wrong and racist."
Duckworth's mother is Thai, but her family on her father's side has roots in America.

I wouldn't know about that but there are plenty of things out there that are untrue about both candidates so if you are planning on making a decision, first, take your heart and gut out of it. Get the facts/check the facts.

Once you got that done, then it becomes, at least at this case, a gut feeling.

No matter who you are for in this election, I'm pretty sure you gotta hold your nose to pull the lever.

To add a little bit more context to this, because the above can be interpreted a variety of ways:

I've posted the video of Hillary saying the above things, along with many other comments that are pretty much the same things that Trump has been saying for the last year and a half. The main difference would be style (with Hillary phrasing things more delicately) but as far as substance it is pretty much the same.

Then something changed. As far as I can tell, Hillary has shied away from such talk for political reasons. It's kind of like a cognitive dissonance thing with the left-wing base, while they're out calling Trump a racist because he correctly noted that some illegal immigrants from Mexico are bringing drugs and crime, it's kind of awkward when Hillary has said pretty much the same damn things.

The most frustrating thing is that during the third debate, Hillary had a GREAT opportunity to set the record straight on what exactly her ideas are on immigration, borders, and trade (one of the leaked emails was of a speech given to one of her donors where she said she dreamed of open borders and open trade although the context was unclear.) However, she went on a tirade about who leaked the emails instead of addressing the topic.

The flow of illegal immigrant children into the United States is expected to rise to record-breaking numbers in 2016 as deportations decrease, according to leading members of the Senate’s Judiciary Committee.

At least 20,455 unaccompanied minors have been caught during fiscal year 2016 along the U.S.-Mexico border as of last month, according to committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), who warned that if this trend continues, the number of illegal minors could eclipse a massive 2014 surge that strained the resources of the Department of Homeland Security and prompted investigations into the Obama administration’s handling of the issue.

While illegal border crossings surge, the number of children actually being deported from the United States is declining, senators said during a Tuesday hearing with senior Obama administration officials.

The hearing comes just a day after oversight officials disclosed that the Obama administration has lost track of scores of immigrant children, many of whom are being released from custody to individuals across the United States who have not gone through thorough background checks.

“If these trends continue, we can expect to see an even greater number of minors crossing the border this year than in 2014,” Grassley said. “No one is following up on these individuals when they skip their immigration hearings, unless they are receiving post-release services. They are also not enforcement priorities for this administration. This means a lot of these minors are nowhere to be found.”

Thomas Homan, a top official in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations, confirmed that trials for these illegal immigrants could take “months or years” to complete.

“It is no wonder children are being mistreated or simply falling off of the grid once turned over to sponsors,” Grassley said. “Your agency wants to wipe its hands clean after a child is placed with a sponsor.”

As border crossings rise to unprecedented levels, the Obama administration has deported just 4,680 of more than 127,000 minors who were apprehended on the border during the past two-and-a-half years.

Obama administration officials confirmed that third-party contractors perform most background checks and interviews with these minors, often with little government oversight.

“We’re having an increase … this year, twice as many unaccompanied minors are entering the country as last year because there’s no effective response to this,” Sen. Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) said. “The president’s answer is to assume basically that every child is a victim of an asylum type danger and entitled to enter the U.S.”

Sessions grilled Homan about the deportation process, asking if a greater number of removals from the United States could impact the border issue.

“They’re difficult to find,” Homan responded, admitting that a greater number of deportations would likely deter immigrants from illegally entering the United States.

“They should be, if caught, they should be treated fairly and sent home,” Sessions said. “That’s what needs to be done. That’s what the law says. That’s what the American people want. But we have an administration that’s undermining every day the ability of that system to work.”

“It cannot be that every young person that appears from Central America is entitled to asylum or entry into the United States, contrary to our laws,” he said. “It just cannot be.”

Homan also admitted that once a child is released from custody it can be difficult to compel them to appear before immigration judges for deportation proceedings.

Why is it that cities under Democratic control for a generation or more usually turn into such a chaotic mess?

Heck you can even see it happening in Cleveland. Democrat controlled city with the accompanying corruption/political scandals, violent crime, poorly performing schools despite plenty of funding, etc. Get 10 miles out of the city and none of the communities seem to have those problems. Weird.
