I had my lasik surgery yesterday. It's freaky as hell, but the easiest thing I've ever done. It's AMAZING! Well worth it. I was able to see fine about 4 hours later. IT felt like I had something in my left eye for a few hours. Today, I'm fine with the exception of some minor eye soreness. The only drawback is that the eyedrops end up going through your eyes and hit the back of your throat eventually and they taste horrendous, but it's a tiny price to pay for perfect vision - truly amazing.

Congratulations!

It's what I've wanted done for a fair amount of time... Just don't have the finances, and it always looked like something I wouldn't enjoy doing. How's it feel not having to worry about contacts anymore?

Only wish they could correct far vision in older folks. Everyone over 45-50 starts the reading glasses/contact thing. Lasik can't fix that and still provide far vision unless they just do one eye for near and leave the far good one alone... The doctor told me to avoid that procedure as it is VERY diffucult to get use to.

Wouldn't it be more effective if he could see through metal and burn holes in womens clothes?

Not even about the bill? The price is still outrageous.

Glad you took the big step. The only thing I regretted about my Lasik is that I let my fear and finances postpone it for 2 years. I had it done a year ago last February and after $400 more, it will already be paid off. It was worth every penny. I actually feel like I see better now than with contacts. No more blur and the dry eyes were worse with contacts.

I had lasik surgery about 12 years ago (I was 21 at the time) It was the best £500 I ever spent. Considering the amount of money my friends spend on contact lenses and glasses I have saved myself a lot of money.

Because I was young when I had the treatment they warned that my eye would still change and I may have to wear glasses in the future. Recently I have noticed my eyesight getting worse. I have another lasik eye surgery appointment for Tuesday - not sure if they can do the operation twice but hopefully they can.
