Another tie! The fine folks of London might kick the NFL back across the pond. They want penalty kicks. A real fg kicker battle? Intriguing I thought about that yesterday. That would be cool. Bet the kickers pay-checks would increase a ton.

Eagles lost again. That's good for us. Dak Prescott is evolving, Carson Wentz is Alex Smith 2.0 (at this point): Air yards averages from tonight's game:
Dak Prescott: 11.4 intended 10.2 completed
Carson Wentz: 5.1 intended 4.6 completed https://twitter.com/MattHarmon_BYB/status/792947424171917312Either the Eagles don't trust Wentz or he is not yet capable of throwing downfield. I hope they continue to dink and dunk because it will lead to more losses. If you watched the game and knew ANYTHING about football ... you'd know why this happend .. it has nothing to do with arm strength or trust ... NOTHING!!! it has everything to do with TWO KEY ELEMENTS to succesful downfield throwing ... Another prime example of why STATS ARE FOR ..... Doug Pederson came from the Chiefs. The Eagles offense looks very similar to the Chiefs. The Chiefs don't throw downfield.

U mean like the 40 yard pass in the air that Nick Foles threw to Hill yesterday for a TD ... thats down field .... no? .. Thats actually IRRELIVENT here ... Once again .. there's reasons that the Chiefs don't throw downfield alot .. and its not because Reid doesn't LIKE TO DO IT .. Think back to his days in Phili and who is QB was then ... and think of who his WR's were .. Do u ever actually STOP and THINK before you speak ... try it .. it may improve there product coming out of your keyboard!!

Ya .. he had Terrance Williams .. he can take the TOP OFF DEFENSES ..... he had Cole Beasley ... EXTREMELY QUICK and can CREATE SEPERATION .. He also has BY FAR THE BEST OL IN FOOTBALL .. u know . So he has TIMES FOR THE ROUTE TO DEVELOP ... I DISMISS USELESS STATS when there used WRONGLY to prove a point .. people that DON'T UNDERSTAND THE GAME rely on STATS to prove a point ... Go get some more STATS ... i'll keep WATCHING ... Stick with the LOW HANGIN FRUIT DUDE ... you'll have a CULT of guys that just don't get it .. *LOL* .. good one man ... NICE TRY .. next time come back with at least ONE BULLET IN YOUR GUN .. U think there's a reason why there's rumors about Tory Smith going to Phili .. i WONDER WHY THAT IS ..

they'll be calling about thomas today
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

they'll be calling about thomas today They don't have a 1st round pick this year, so they better make one heck of an offer, including a future 1st round pick. plus other high picks and/or players.

Cheers- Dance all around? .. u asked a question .. i answered it with VALID FOOTBALL POINTS .. how is that dancing? .. What did I say that doesn't make sense? .. or isn't TRUE .. U shoveled some BS and i REFUTED IT ... Nice QUALITY response though .. u sure PROVED YOUR POINT ... If u call that dancing .. u know less about the game than i thought .. and that bar was very low to begin with ... Go back to impressing your posse otherwise known as low hangin fruit ..

And they lost another OLman last night .. Boone went down .. I really like Norv as an OC .. think he's one of the best .. but i blame last night on him .. his REFUSAL to give either of the turnstiles he calls tackles HELP pretty much all night long was MIND BOGGLING to me .. At one point I thought Bradford must have done something really bad to Norv and hes punishing him .. *L* ...

Your contention that Wentz low air yards aren't a reflection of his his skillset and coaching gameplan is imho absurd. Then you attempt in vain to explain it away by comparing personnel with Cowboys. Yet the Eagles also have a good OL and receivers? C'mon DGB average prior to Wentz was 17 ypc lol. You're talking about vertical passing game then you mention Cole Beasely an underneath possession receiver.
Look we're all here to talk football, i have no idea what your hangups or issues are with me but it seems you're needlessly combative towards other posters also...i dont get it nor see the need...but lol to each their own.....tap dance away

Nov Turners offense always makes OL look worse then they are..
It just so happens Minnys isn't very good to begin with..

Phili's WR's have no speed .... NONE ... hence the Terrance williams can take the top off a D ... and Beasley is quick AND FAST ... JUST LIKE EDELMAN HE TURNS 7 YARD PASSES INTO INTO 15 - 20 yard gains al the time .. who can do that for Phili ... it certainly isn't DGB or Matthews (who i think is a good WR but has NO SPEED) .... Comparing the Boys OL to PHili's is a joke .. especially since Phili is down one of the best RT's in football and 2 other starters and Jason Peters is now a shell of himself at LT .... there's NO COMPARISION THERE .. My hang up is BAD INFO .. what u said is SIMPLY NOT TRUE ... there's valid football reasons here .. VERY VALID ... Phili has NO DEEP THREAT ... NONE ..if u think DGB is a deep threat .. u know NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL .. just like if u think Phili's OL can carry Dallas's OL jocks your CRAZY ... PSSST. U think MAYBE just MAYBE the fact Phili has a GREAT D and Tenn's SUCKED ASS LAST YEAR may have played SLIGHTLY INTO the high average for DGB's YPC last year ... the FACT DOUG would be SMART to have wentz be more of a GAME MGR. this year .. U think maybe the fact he MISSED ALMOST ALL OF TC and was 3rd string when he did get reps early in camp ..... YOUR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING IS MOND BOGGLING .. One of the reasons I HATE STATS IN FOOTBALL is there's a 16 game sample AT MOST and there's WAY TO MANY VARIABLES THAT GO INTO AN EQUATION .... WAY TO MANY ... DGB is not even close to a SPEED RECIEVER .. he is not going to make the D respect the deep ball ... thats why TORREY SMITH WAS RUMORED TO GO TO PHILI ... and I think Torrey Smith SUCKS ... all he can do is run fast ... And GUESS WHAT THERE'S MORE ...Wentz is still a ROOKIE QB .. against Minni he looked LOST ... against Dallas he looked lost at times .. I'm sure you'll come back with Dak's a rookie also .. well Dak has 4 seconds to throw on some plays and there's still plenty of room for him to follow through on ...anyhow there's a PROGRESSION with rookie QB's .. how about we give the guy more than 8 GAMES before deciding he is Cody Kessler ... Then u mentioned Peterson coming from KC and he's an Andy Reid disciple .. Andy reid and his EGO is stil trying to prove Alex RAG ARM SMITH is a good NFL QB .... take a look at his O with McNabb ... that wasn't even close to a DINK AND DUNK SYSTEM .. NOT EVEN CLOSE ... U think RG3 is an accurate passer because of his completion % .. and he is NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ACURRATE IMO ... I watched almost every snap he took that year ... RG3 throws a buetiful deep ball .. as good as anyone ever IMO ... but he is HORRIBLY INACCURATE on all the other throws ... reminds me alot of Michael Vick ... difference is .. Vick didn't get to play in a Shanny led O ... I remember watching those games and i watched them all .. and one of my notes after every game was I've never seen and Offense with WR's running so WIDE OPEN ALL OVER THE FIELD .... he never had to be accurate ... he never had tight windows to throw to he had PICTURE WINDOW sized windows to throw too ... Reminded me of the year Atlanta ran the run and shoot and made Terrance Mathis a SUPERSTAR for a year .... thats the last time I saw guys running that wide open al over the field .. Sorry ED ... thats not tap dancing .. its ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE OF TAP DANCING ... not my fault u don't understand whats going on in a game and need stats to understand it ....

lol, holy wall of text doesnt change the fact that DGB was a deep threat with a 17 ypc avg in Tenn. Since when is 17 ypc not indicative of a deep threat?
Look up any metric on OL and pass protection and tell me where the Eagles rank. Or are you going to dismiss those metrics because they dont support your view? How convient.
Want to talk speed? Matthews ran a faster 49 then Terrance Williams.
And again Beasely is a slot receiver w/ ~11 ypc which fyi doesnt help a QBs air yards. But u would know that IF you actually understood the stat you are attempting in vain to refute. But yeah, Eagles have no speed at WR. Eagles have No OL. Therefore Wentz low/near leage worst air yards arent a fault of his skillset/play or coaching.
...rrrrrriiiiigggghhhhhtttttt
have funny with another wall of text that tap dances around the facts.
cheers

U got me .. i watch ... u look up metrics and stats ...
When they start playing football in shorts and on tracks and running in straight lines .. GET BACK TO ME ...
The fact your metric and stats tell u that Phili's OL can carry Dallas's OL's jocks shows just how much u actually know ...
There's no one in the NFL that would say that Matthews is a DEEP THREAT and Williams is not ..
Can't make my point any clearer ... go ahead and look for some more stats or metrics .. i'll continue to WATCH THE GAMES ...
I'll go dance the night away ...

J/C ..... I think that Philly was really hurt when their LT was suspended for 10 games for a PED violation.

Lol, of course logical conclusion. In one thread you're lamenting about not being able to see the whole field watching the game on TV.
Then you're telling me, the guy who posts images from all-22 full field replay that I don't watch the games. Lol.
I like have you never address or explain DGB previous 17 ypc average that has dropped to 12 ypc. It must be because Jason Peters and Travis Kelce are horrible right? And Dallas OL doesnt have any weak spots right? Not even Doug Free, lol.
I guess Football Outsiders and PFF are all wrong when they still rank Eagles OL top 10 only a few below the Cowboys. But yeah just dismiss those stats outright because you watch games on TV feed.
And now you go making stuff up. Quote where I said Williams wasnt a deep threat. ill wait...........
YOU mentioned that Matthews wasnt fast. Im sorry the facts dont fit your perception.

I like wentz, but sorry guys I hope they lose every freaking game.
This year. I want a really good first round pick to go along with ours.
After that, I hope he goes 12-4 or something like that causes he looks legit. And I hate the NFC east in general so...

I think the Wentz/Alex Smith comparison is absurd. I know... stats... but their productivity is remarkably similar: RK PLAYER TEAM COMP ATT PCT YDS YDS/A LONG TD INT SACK RATE YDS/G
21 Case Keenum, QB LA 147 237 62.0 1,708 7.21 65 8 10 16 77.5 244
22 Ben Roethlisberger, QB PIT 145 226 64.2 1,685 7.46 72 16 6 11 99.2 281
23 Alex Smith, QB KC 154 233 66.1 1,638 7.03 46 8 2 15 94.3 234
24 Carson Wentz, QB PHI 150 228 65.8 1,526 6.69 73 9 3 15 92.5 218 Wentz rushing: 19 attempts, 40 yards, 0 TDs, {3 FUM} Smith Rushing: 19 attempts, 31 yards, 1 TD, {1 FUM} Also... Chiefs 5-2, Eagles 4-3. Also similar.

They have NO CLUE ... they look at stats and thats there be all end all ..
Forget the 67 VARIABLES that go into a passing game ... look at ED...
He wants to discount the following ... ahh never mind not worth it ..

It's kind of funny how the perception is people are for or against stats based on whether or not they agree with what those particular stats say.
Stats are one tool amongst many. Do they always paint a complete picture? Of course not, but they can make you take a closer look at your assumptions. Right now, Wentz is playing a lot like Alex Smith. Do they have the same tools? Not really, but stylistically Wentz is playing like what one thinks of when you hear Alex Smith. Mobile QB, managing the game, dinking and dunking down the field. Why is Wentz playing this way? It seems that it is what he's being asked to do. They don't really have a deep ball specialist since DeSean Jackson left. We'll see how the Philly system progresses with Wentz as time goes on, right now the Alex Smith comparison seems to fit as well as any.

DGB's numbers could also be affected by the small sample size, change in systems, lack of chemistry as a late addition to the Eagles, etc. I'm guessing Dallas faces more safeties cheating up to stop the run game since they have Zeke rather than Ryan Mathews as well. We'll see how it goes as teams get more tape on the rookies. As far as Eagles/Cowboys OLs, I think the TE's and RBs get overlooked some as far as the help they provide those lines. Witten and Zeke are plus blockers. Lane Johnson's suspension hurts the Eagles a lot, too. As far as Jordan Matthews, fast is hard to clearly define. On NFL.com's draft writeup/combine profile in his weaknesses it says: "Does not show elite explosion to separate vertically." He does have some speed, but I think his timed speed in spandex is misleading compared to play speed. His route running helps him get open. Not really trying to argue with you, ed, just trying to drill down to what's really happening.

*LOL* ... i been posting on this version of the board or its predecessor SINCE DAY 1 ... Ask anyone thats been around that long ... If I've used stats at 10 times in all those years .. thats ALOT!!! and the VERY FEW times i have used stats .... I use 3 - 5 stats to PROVE MY POINT ... 99.5% of the time i use WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIELD TO PROVE MY POINTS .. Stats can be a USEFUL STAT when there used CORRECTLY .. throwing out one stat like ED did is a JOKE ... And riddle me this dude ... WHAT DID I SAY THAT ISN'T TRUE as to the WHY'S ... Every single think i said was DEAD NUTS RIGHT and a VALID REASON for the differences ... Naaaa .. BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE with me here ... I've been hammering those that need stats caue they don't understand the game as well as i do FOR YEARS ... We used to have knock down drag outs on the old board ... it wasn't monitored til we got attacked by trolls .. til then ... it was the WILD WILD WEST ... *L* .. Naaaa ... WRONG TREE ... Dude .. u BASICALLY PROVED MY POINT!!!! Wentz is NOTHING LIKE ALEX SMITH .. regardless of what your STATS SAY ... Not my fault if u don't understand that ..
