"A few weeks ago, almost 100 agents were threatening Comey that they were going to resign — and that kind of pressure is what turned him around," DeLay, 69, the majority leader from 2003 to 2005, said on Tuesday's "The Steve Malzberg Show." "It wasn't Comey or his integrity.
"I know he made a huge mistake when he indicted Clinton — though not indicting her — but now he's trying to turn that around.
"He had to do it now or have all these FBI agents resign," he added. "That would have probably been a bigger story than what Comey did.
"He got the pressure. He got the notice.
"He understood as far as his own job and being able to go forward in his own job and his reputation," DeLay said.
"If 100 FBI agents resigned before the election, he would have been toast."
"The investigation, he said it was closed, but as far as those FBI agents were concerned, it wasn't closed.
"They were going forward, because they knew that they had to come up with some new information or some new evidence in order to get Comey to open up — particularly when he has this kind of pressure coming from his own agents."
DeLay said the Obama administration now is attacking Comey — Attorney General Loretta Lynch advised him against telling Congress of his intentions — because "we're not going to defend him or deny that he did it.
"But the end of that quote is: 'We're not going to go down with the ship. Hillary, you're on your own!'"
It appears there still are some people in the US Government that still do care about the integrity of the law and the welfare of their country...

It sounds as though you have no idea how the system works. You do understand that the FBI only gives recommendations on prosecutions, right?
You realize that a prosecutor can take it upon themselves to convene a grand jury if they feel the evidence is strong enough to move forward. No prosecutor chose to follow up on this case.
Of course when every prosecutor, the media, big banks, big business and world governments are rigged against you, I can see how the truth may not correspond with those beliefs.

Here are the facts: Loretta Lynch - Comey's boss, is a democrat, put in her position by none other than Barack.
Oddly, while the first investigation was "concluded", the dem's loved and praised Comey. The R's didn't.
Now, that's changed. The R's are happy, and the D's are pissed and calling Comey out.
In the mean time, we have Lynch telling Comey she won't prosecute. And then she pleads the 5th over what technically and legally she wouldn't have been in any trouble for if she had done her job in the first place.
She told Comey she wouldn't prosecute. As the head of the "police" force, Comey had no options. The prosecutor was out of the game, so his evidence meant nothing.
Now, perhaps more evidence is out there, and Comey is going after it - damn Lynch. Perhaps some of the 500,000 to 650,000 e-mails found on weiner's computer are some of the 30,000 hillary deleted.
Yeah, real good chance of that, as Huma has been quoted as saying she sent and received 3-mails on her own computer so she could print them out for hillary to read.

A Justice Department official with close ties to Hillary Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta sent him a "heads up" last year to warn that lawmakers might question witnesses about the presidential candidate's private emails, messages released Wednesday by WikiLeaks show.
Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik, the official now in charge of informing Congress about the revived Clinton email probe, gave a personal status update to the Clinton campaign in the email sent May 19, 2015.
The message from his Gmail account to Podesta was titled: “Heads up.”
“There is a [House Judiciary Committee] oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil Division will testify,” Kadzik wrote. “Likely to get questions on State Department emails.”
The warning came just two weeks after Kadzik’s son had written to Podesta asking for a job on Clinton’s presidential campaign.
