This I do not agree with. I do believe we are splitting apart at the seams and this election will go down in history as the beginning of the Disunited States of America.
I do believe we are splitting apart at the seams and this election will go down in history as the beginning of the Disunited States of America.
This distresses me to no end, 40... for a number of reasons.
I'll try to limit my answer and be succinct, because I know that 90% of our DT posters scroll past my 'eye bleeders.'
If guys like you think that we're truly looking at "The end of days" for America, then that means only one thing: Our 'Grand Social Experiment' is doomed to failure, despite the best efforts of both you and I.
We often find ourselves on opposing sides of current political ideology, but I never once thought that our 'oppositional discourse' was emblematic of a fundamental rift in The American Fabric.
My Dawg: we survived The Great Recession, The Cold War, the Great Depression, and The Civil War.
And trust me- those ancestors of Our Past were no smarter, insightful, intellectually deeper, or more 'plugged-in' than we are today.
You're feeling it as 'more real' today, because it's happening now. In YOUR time.
Our folks felt it the same way in THEIR time, trust me.
@40: We're no better- or worse off- than we've ever been.
______________
Living 'In the now' has always been a dicey, precarious proposition. The stakes are always high, because we never have the benefit of precognition.
But we DO have benefit of History.
And History has already shown America that we've withstood much worse than what we're experiencing now.
Today ain't good.... but today ain't fatal to Us.
Despite how dire and desperate things may appear to you, I want you to trust me (on a deeper, more profound level than you seem to trust Donald Trump):
We'll weather this one, too- and we'll come out stronger for having fought through The Fight.
It's what we always do. It's what we've always done.
And... it's why I:
1. oppose you on day-to-day politics. 2. never treat you like an enemy. 3. agree with you, (even back you) when we see things from the same POV.
I KNOW we both love this country in equal measure, for our our own personal reasons. And I know that we both want what's best for our nation of loved ones.

I believe that your 'tectonic fracture point' is not the Beginning of The End," but a 'seismic shift point' that allows America to assess why we're here... and to take a hard look at what She must do to take Her next steps forward.
I believe, in my heart of hearts, that Our Kids will get most of the Really Big Things right... because that's what we did, when Our Parents handed the reigns off to us.... and they helped to raise us both.
I try to see Life from an Historical perspective. It's the only way I can make sense of the senselessness that seems to dominate the daily news. My conclusion: It's not much different than the way Americans felt, when they saw The 2019 Collapse of Wall Street The Hindenburg Disaster, the attack on Pearl Harbor, or 9/11.
The only constant in those scenarios is how The American People responded to crisis... and they've always responded in the same way:
-with strength, resolve... and a 'can do' spirit that no other nation can boast.
I ain't scared, leaving My Country to the young ones who will take it from me.
I trust My Nation's History too much to mistrust them with this awesome responsibility.
After all, let's face it: we set them up to do this job. If they aren't equipped to handle the responsibility, it's OUR fault.
I feel Trumps entire campaign has been the perfect example of the Dunning Kruger effect. People who know what they don't know stay quiet as result. People who don't know what they don't know are the boldest and the loudest.
Have to admit Trump nailed the biggest issue with the country in this one. The political establishment that has sold us out to big money. Scary part is that all he has ever been is big money.
"these politicians are bought by big money!! so vote for me!! the big money!! because who better to replace the puppets than the master himself!!"
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Nope, this election I must pick between two Lefties. Trump is more law and order and fixing a corrupt system while Hillary is 4 more years of Obama.
So, I am voting for a direction, not necessarily a person.
Trump!
This is an honest question. Why would Trump desire to fix the system he's played his entire life to his own financial gain?
Because he has seen first hand how it is rigged for the rich like himself and leaves the Middle Class to struggle. America suffers from this corrupt system so it has to change. Otherwise his children, and ours, are going to suffer the consequences of a broken America and will not have the life he has had.
Why do you think the Bankers and Wall Street and Special Interests and Republican Elite and the Democrat Elite hate him so?
Because if he wins, their game is over.
So it's rigged to his benefit, again, why would he want to change it.

man oh man lolololol. one more day before Election Day, and all i'm seeing from Republicans is "we can't let Hillary choose the SC Judge!!!"
lmao, they already know Trump is gonna lose. They aren't even trying to fake it anymore.

Clem, when 1/3 of our people are left out of the system as the President refers to them as ignorant, clinging to their guns and Bibles.
When Hillary refers to millions of Americans as Deplorable.
When the Progressive/Liberal movement imposes huge changes to our Society without discussion, calling those who question these changes horrible names instead of allowing them to come into the fold and adjust over time.
I liken it to when Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, if the next day a Black man was running for President. Society was given no time to adjust and absorb this new reality. If they complained they were shut down with name calling. If they took a stand against it, the Courts would shutter their businesses, others would lose their jobs. It would have lead to violence.

Good old ChickenHawk Ted. In his own words...though I edited for board appropriateness. "Ted Nugent: Ted was a young boy, appearing to be a hippie but quite opposite in fact, working hard and playing hard, playing rock and roll like a deviant. People would question my sanity, I played so much. So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar and go play army? Give me a break! I was busy doin' it to it. I had a career Jack. If I was walkin' around, hippying down, getting' loaded and pickin' my ass like your common curs, I'd say "Hey yeah, go in the army. Beats the poop out of scuffin' around in the gutters." But I wasn't a gutter dog. I was a hard workin', mother_' rock and roll musician.
I got my physical notice 30 days prior to. Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body. No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin' and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin' kinky, matted up. Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered popcorn, little jars of Polish sausages, and I'd drink the syrup, I was this side of death, Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. poop, (pee) the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.
See, I approached the whole thing like, Ted Nugent, cool hard-workin' dude, is gonna wreak havoc on these imbeciles in the armed forces. I'm gonna play their own game, and I'm gonna destroy 'em. Now my whole body is crusted in poop and (pee). I was ill. And three or four days before, I started stayin' awake. I was close to death, but I was in control. I was extremely antidrug as I've always been, but I snorted some crystal methedrine. Talk about one wounded mother_. A guy put up four lines, and it was for all four of us, but I didn't know and I'm vacuuming that poop right up. I was a walking, talking hunk of human poop. I was six-foot-three of sin. So the guys took me down to the physical, and my nerves, my emotions were distraught. I was not a good person. I was wounded. But as painful and nauseous as it was — 'cause I was really into bein' clean and on the ball — I made gutter swine hippies look like football players. I was deviant.
So I went in, and those guys in uniform couldn't believe the smell. They were ridiculin' me and pushin' me around and I was cryin', but all the time I was laughin' to myself. When they stuck the needle in my arm for the blood test I passed out, and when I came to they were kicking me into the wall. Then they made everybody take off their pants, and I did, and this sergeant says, "Oh my God, put those back on! You _ing swine you!" Then they had a urine test and I couldn't (pee), But my poop was just like ooze, man, so I poop in the cup and put it on the counter. I had poop on my hand and my arm. The guy almost puked. I was so proud. I knew I had these chumps beat. The last thing I remember was wakin' up in the ear test booth and they were sweepin' up. So I went home and cleaned up."
Such a proud guy. I can see why Trump would want him stumping for him.
That's......wow. I dunno what to say. And yet this guy calls himself a patriot.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
What do you mean "calls himself a patriot"? He is a patriot! He wore a flag bandanna on stage once and he shoots guns. I mean what more evidence do you need?
I won't believe it til I see a bald eagle land on his shoulder while he screams "freedom"!!!

It will be fun watching the election results. But I am getting tired of the election nonsense already. Its been old for a while now. It will be nice to hear the news stations talk about something other than what trump said or clintons latest scandal.
OK, you can be certain that there is nothing wrong with Trump's taxes.
There has undoubtedly been teams of tax auditors reviewing his tax information.
There's no way a person is going to be elected president without having been audited up their ying yang.
No way a person is going to be elected president and then be impeached shortly afterward.
And there's lots of ways for wealthy people to not owe taxes legally.
For instance if you buy municipal bonds.
The interest you earn is tax free.
They do this to help municipalities. (cities can borrow money at a cheaper rate than say - a corporation. If you're the investor, you get a lower interest rate than you would from corporate bonds which are taxable)
I see Sarah palin got ahold of the Box wine and xanax again.

You was better off with the edited video. This is so, so much worse.

Even still, she doesn't drink like Hillary the fish.
Trump!
You're right. Palin drinks way more. Her liver must be done.
