That's fine I guess when you are walking down a city street and you see somebody asking for spare change. You can give it to them, buy them a slice of pizza or walk past and ignore them. But, not sure how that helps you with your local, state and federal taxes that you may object to paying. You still kinda have to pay them. Unless, of course, you are Donald Trump.

I "know/know of" plenty of whites who are used to free handouts - think welfare - and are happy to stay on the system for as long as they can.

I agree. I'd much rather give to a charity I trust than the federal government. They buy votes and threaten people with losing their benefits.

These are the idiots electing our leaders. No wonder this country is down the drain.

Thanks for the response. Are there any government programs you do agree with?

I agree with future government programs to regulate the healthcare industry. That crap is out of control to the detriment of many middle class families.

No argument here. I just think we as Americans are told certain narratives to divide us. Last thing I want you to get out of this response is I'm this huge supporter of welfare programs, because I'm not. I believe there should be a start date and an end date. I also believe while receiving benefits you should have an opportunity to become a contributing member of the community. Either learn a trade or earn a degree. If you fail to do that then you must give something back to he community that supports you by doing volunteer work. Again, this is not something that they will recieve forever.

My other thought is how companies such as General Electric doesn't pay one dime in taxes. In fact, they usually recieve rebates from the government. They are not the only ones. If you were to add up welfare payments vs loss of corporate taxes it wouldn't even be close. Yet I rarely see any outrage about this. Why is that?

To me it's almost like the gun issue. More people are killed by hammers than guns, but we only talk about guns. Why not be more upset at government waste? Military spending? Taxes?

It expends nearly three times as much on tax subsidies for homeowners as it does for rental assistance for the poor.

While those who get government benefits through spending programs are often aware of that fact. And those who get them through the tax system usually don’t realize they’ve just received a big gov't handout.

Sorry, allowing me to keep more of the money I earned because I bought a house, thus fueling economic growth, isn't even close to equal to taking money from somebody and giving it to somebody else.

You make it sound as if the government is entitled to as much of my money as they can get and I should be grateful that they actually let me keep some of it.

Wait a minute...according to the statistics...just over 13,200 were killed by firearms in the USA in 2015. So, you are saying nearly 13,300+ people were killed by...hammers?

I don't buy it.

Now I regret using that as an example to make a point because it opens up a whole nother can of worms. Not because it's incorrect, but because the total number of gun deaths is misleading. It lumps all deaths by gun regardless of whether it was suicide, mass shooting or justified Police shooting. Now, if you truly want me to get you the stats, give me a day or so and I will get them for you. Thank you for your patience.

And what about the millions more of whites who are on welfare?

Please don't generalize, kingo.
Not all Republicans are bigots.

Bigots can (and should) speak for themselves- without party attachment.

Don't bring political parties into this.

"One person/one voice."

Instead, judge individuals by what they say... not by their party affiliation.
Otherwise, you run the risk of painting an entire group of people with a single, broad brush-stoke.

You're much, much better than that.
-and so are almost all of the Republicans I know.

tsktsk

And yet it doesn't change the fact that absentee ballots have been exempt from voter ID laws.

That was made apparent in my first link in my first post.

You want to find voter fraud, follow the vans full of people.
