Congratulations President Elect Trump. I hope that you're a better President than I think you will be.

Congrats to President elect Trump and all his supporters for getting their man elected. Even though I personally could not support either candidate I'm happy for all of you and certainly hope you got it right.

As for HRC, the Hillary bots, The Dem establishment, The DNC and MSM... true progressives told you this would happen, so you got just what you deserved.

Everyone knows I'm an Atheist, but I sure hope all my religious friends are saying some prayers for all of us today. I hope Trump can get out of his own way and find some kind of cosmic/divine intervention that allows/guides him to actually be a decent President.

I will say I thought he was fairly gracious in his victory speech and I have actually listened his last few rallies and think he started sounding somewhat Presidential. I hope whatever got him focused the last few weeks stays in place and keeps working.

The republican party ran themselves into the ground, put up a joke of a candidate and won the presidency and both houses of congress. Good job democrats. Now the republicans have no reason to clean up their house, and having one party in control of everything scares me to death. I'm a conservative and thought this election might be a wake up call. Boy was I wrong.

Where is Clinton's concession speech to her supporters from last night? I can't find it. She didn't just go off to bed and leave her supporters hanging did she?

Trump! thumbsup

But this is about much more than just Trump, it is a statement by the American people that we the Deplorables still matter.

The arrogant of both parties have been knocked down a few notches.

Trump with the backing of the American People has successfully brought down the arrogant Left, The arrogant Right, the Clinton and Bush Machines, the Republican establishment, the Democrat elite, the unjust Media, Wall Street and the Bankers.

My faith in America and her people has been restored and I look forward to a future that will now be better for ALL Americans!

Just imagine if the results were switched, how the media would be roasting Trump right now if he didn't follow tradition and address all the people that put in so much effort for him.

In my heart of hearts, I think Trump will be a horrible President. I just don't believe in him at all.

Having said that, I'll do what many of you on this very board didn't do for Barack Obama. I'll support DJT because He's my President.

I remember some on here wanted Obama to fail. I think that was wrong, but I won't go down that road for Trump. I hope he succeeds.

If he succeeds, WE have a much better chance of Success.

Good Luck Mr. President Elect!

Hasn't happened since 1928. Literally every decision made that ends up not working will be scruitinized. There is nobody left for the right to blame.

So much for the demise of the Republican party. It's the Democrats looking completely broken. Personally, I think they are both a mess, but it's obvious the arrogance of the democratic side was completely unjustified.

It's interesting how wrong the polling was for this election. It also further shows how far apart the media and a lot of the population are, so many of the media outlets showed their ignorance over and over in this election.

I did not vote for Trump. I have no idea what to expect. I don't think he's the monster some make him out to be, I hope I'm right.

The fact that Clinton lost to this guy is pretty telling that these were indeed two of the worst candidates we've had in a very long time.

I think you came up w/the perfect title for this subject matter.

I am not a political expert. I have far less political knowledge than many of you. I do have a few thoughts, though.

--I did not vote for Trump, but I could not vote for Hillary.

--Trump is probably the better choice for my family. We are workers and do not need the extra tax burden that Clinton would have brought.

--I do feel bad for some minorities and can sympathize w/them being scared.

--I think that a lot of hard-working, middle-class folks are tired of footing the bill for those who don't work, receive aide, and then complain about how bad things are for them. I think America spoke loud and clear about that issue.

--I think the media's love fest w/Clinton and all the negative attacks on Trump wore on many people. I think a lot of people are sick of hearing how bad white people are; sick of seeing protests during our National Anthem; sick of seeing rioting and looting in the name of Black Lives Matter; sick of the corruption in government; sick of free loaders attacking our country and way of life.

--America Spoke. There is no denying that.

Man, what's up with the Senate race in Louisiana? crazy

There are, if I count right, 16 candidates who are either Democrat or Republican, and also 6 Independents and 2 Libertarians.

It looks like one of the Republicans is going to win with 25% of the vote?

The Republicans, if I see the results right, will lose either 1 or 2 seats in the Senate, but will hold the Senate, and in the House, the Republicans lost a total net of 5 seats. (from 246 to 241) This is way, way off from what Democrats were talking about for most of the election season. 2018 will be interesting in the Senate, with 33 seats up for election, and 23 or so of those being Democrat seats.

Everyone is wanting Trump to do all these things but he first needs the time to fix this mess Obama has handed him.

Relax people, it took 8 years to screw things up, give Trump at least 1 to fix it.

If Trump does nothing more than reduce our national debt then he will be a successful president and my children will thank him for it.

Trust that.

He'll have to do it... because the 'candidacy rhetoric' he used to get votes will never work in Real Life- when a POTUS must negotiate with another country over the release of hostages, talk with 3 Middle East nations to surgically take out a terrorist cell in Pakistan, or handle the strategic deployment of troops in sensitive areas, etc.

THIS is why I voted for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. I didn't vote for her because I liked her. I wanted her in the job because she actually was prepared for the job.

Sorry my friend I will have to disagree that Hillary was prepared for the job.

We have been clamoring for years that we need someone who's actually been in business, who's run something. Now we do. Is he a politician, now by definition but not by history, he has none of that baggage and doesn't owe any outside interests. Yes he has no foreign policy experience and will need a lot of help there. He has run businesses and to run the largest economy in the world I still feel we need a business man. I'd have rather had Jack Welch in this prime but Trump's our horse to ride.

You know I was no Trump supporter but between the two, giving Clinton the purse strings was just an insane prospect. By all accounts she owes a lot to a lot of people that would expect payback. Anyone that sells access to themselves is owned by the highest bidder.

More of the same is all she would have provided and that is what the people voted against in this election. Will it work? Who knows, I have no crystal ball, but there was no way I wanted to ride that moreofthesame horse into the future. We have some deep economic problems in this country that need to be fixed. We have a possibility with Trump to start addressing some of those issues, we had no chance with Hillary. IMO she would have just dug our hole deeper. The millennials, dripping in idealism, don't deserve the country she would have left them.

I don't think anybody is really prepared for the job. Plus, being prepared can come in many forms. Being a former elected official doesn't mean you are prepared. It's not as if Pres Elect Trump doesn't have qualities that render him totally unable to manage the office.

We'll have 4 years to find out.

Guess your definition of prepared is alot different than mine ...

Please tell me witch situation she handled well?

- Libya
- Syria
- Russia
- China
- starting the negotiations to give 150 BILLION to the worlds leading sponsor of terrorism

Seriously Clem ... please list her accomplishments when dealing with other countries?

What did she ACCOMPLISH that makes you think she's prepared?

This is an article from NPR.. Pretty ambitious.

Quote:
At the end of October, Donald Trump spoke in Gettysburg, Pa., and released a plan for his first 100 days in office.

The plan (below) outlines three main areas of focus: cleaning up Washington, including by imposing term limits on Congress; protecting American workers; and restoring rule of law. He also laid out his plan for working with Congress to introduce 10 pieces of legislation that would repeal Obamacare, fund the construction of a wall at the Southern border (with a provision that Mexico would reimburse the U.S.), encourage infrastructure investment, rebuild military bases, promote school choice and more.

4 Questions Democrats Now Have To Grapple With

On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell mostly made nice with Trump but also shot down or expressed little enthusiasm in some of his plans. On Trump's proposal to impose term limits on Congress, McConnell said, "It will not be on the agenda in the Senate." McConnell has been a long-standing opponent of term limits, as NPR's Susan Davis reports. "I would say we have term limits now — they're called elections."

McConnell also threw some cold water on Trump's infrastructure plans, calling it not a top priority.

McConnell did say repealing Obamacare is a "pretty high item on our agenda" along with comprehensive tax reform and achieving border security "in whatever way is the most effective." But he also declined to discuss the Senate's immigration agenda further.

"We look forward to working with him," McConnell said. "I think most of the things that he's likely to advocate we're going to be enthusiastically for."

Below is the 100-day plan Trump's campaign released in October, called "Donald Trump's Contract With The American Voter."

What follows is my 100-day action plan to Make America Great Again. It is a contract between myself and the American voter — and begins with restoring honesty, accountability and change to Washington

Therefore, on the first day of my term of office, my administration will immediately pursue the following six measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington, DC:

* FIRST, propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress;

* SECOND, a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health);

* THIRD, a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;

* FOURTH, a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service;
WATCH: Hillary Clinton Concedes Presidential Race To Donald Trump
Politics
WATCH: Hillary Clinton Concedes Presidential Race To Donald Trump

* FIFTH, a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government;

* SIXTH, a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.

On the same day, I will begin taking the following 7 actions to protect American workers:

* FIRST, I will announce my intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205

* SECOND, I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership

* THIRD, I will direct my Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator

* FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately
WATCH: President Obama On Trump Win, Clinton Loss

WATCH: President Obama On Trump Win, Clinton Loss

* FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars' worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.

* SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward

* SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America's water and environmental infrastructure

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:

* FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama

* SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States

* THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities

* FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won't take them back

* FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.

Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my Administration:

Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act. An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy. The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.
End The Offshoring Act. Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.
American Energy & Infrastructure Act. Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.
School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Redirects education dollars to give parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.
Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.
Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act. Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-side childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.
End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.
Restoring Community Safety Act. Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.
Restoring National Security Act. Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our values
Clean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.

On November 8th, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our economy, security to our communities, and honesty to our government.

This is my pledge to you.

And if we follow these steps, we will once more have a government of, by and for the people.

Make of this what you will... I don't really understand the replacement of Obamacare with HSA's... But I'm sure someone will explain it at some point.

He better be a little careful with a few items like Climate change. I've read good arguments on both sides, really don't know which to believe.

Simple to say, I'd like to see a list of every executive action, memorandum and order that was issued by Obama.

To say that he would cancel them all without spelling out each one seems hamfisted to me.

McConnell has already said that term limits are out. So you can strike that one off the list.

It does say he would propose it, not that he'd get it done.

Much like the wall...
...deportation...
...bringing manufacturing back....
...being anti establishment (bringing in Christie, Gingrich, Goldman Sach's executives...)
You know, his platform.

Rural Murica bought it hook line and sinker.

I'm sure some people bought that, but I think a vast majority sold when it came to Clinton.

I think a lot of the middle class are tired of certain things. Such as:

--Higher taxes to support those who refuse to work.

--Giving and giving and then being blamed for the plight of others.

--The huge amount of money that big business gave her.

--Listening to her call people Deplorables and Basement Dwellers.

--Forcing our daughters and granddaughters to share locker rooms and bathrooms w/males.

--Wanting to establish an Exit tax that would only serve to drive up prices for the consumers.

--Supporting the shiftless instead of those who actually work hard for a living.

--Her alleged crimes.

--A nasty, liberal media that forgot that being stoic, law-abiding, and hard-working is not the same thing as being backward and ignorant.

--Her economic platform which would only pour more hardships on the people who support the lifestyles of the very rich and those who do not want to work.

I could not vote for Trump, but as time went on, I realized that Clinton was more dangerous to the welfare of my family which therefore made her completely undesirable as a candidate for presidency.
