Except that the majority vote doesn't count for anything, so you can't put too much value into it. so my vote and yours didn't matter? why the hell did we even bother LOL. Get all those electoral people in a big convention hall, let the candidates stand there and answer questions and then choose one. Simple LOL I can't think of another situation where a vote takes place and the winner didn't have the most votes. You must not understand the electoral college process?

Simple LOL I can't think of another situation where a vote takes place and the winner didn't have the most votes. The founders were really quite brilliant in designing our system of government. It is said that democracy is the dictatorship of the majority. The founders made sure this could not happen. They made sure that the legislature was divided into 2 chambers, one that reflects the populations of the states, and the other that allocates equal representation to all states. They eliminated the ability for a candidate to over-promise to a large state, or even population center(s), and thus win a national election. Look at the population map of the US. if there were no electoral college, states like Wyoming, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and so on could easily be blown off. Smaller states that came from the 13 colonies were protected. If not for that system, the US never would have come into existence. Today, a Presidential candidate could over-promise places like NY, LA, Chicago, and other huge population centers, and win the election while not representing the best interests of the whole US. Now, I am not saying that they represent all of the country well anyway, or that this is a perfect system, but of all of the imperfect political systems on earth, this one is the best.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

https://www.census.gov/population/apportionment/about/computing.htmlI'm no mathematician, but it does seem the number of any states electoral votes can change. Electoral college votes for any given state are determined by a calculation which automatically includes a mandatory 2 votes (every state has 2 senators). The rest are doled out based on 1 for each states number of house members (representatives). If a state has 10 representatives (base on their population) that state would have 12 electoral college votes. Basically, 1 for each member of congress. (and please note, the congress people aren't the voters) Further, the house has 435 (actually 441) members (6 are not voting members if I remember correctly. D.C. has 2, and puerto rico has 2, and where the other 2 come from I don't know) Of those 435 representatives, each state is guaranteed at least 1. The rest of the seats are apportioned by population. A state with a high population would get more reps than a state with a low population, relatively speaking. That's 1 of the reasons for a census every 10 years. How often it changes, I have no clue And maybe it hasn't changed in 50 years.

I did not vote for Trump. I also could not vote for Clinton, because at the end of the day, I knew her policies would hurt working, middle class Americans like my family more than Trump would. Sorry, but a lot of Americans are tired of doing most of the work, giving the most to those who don't work, and then being called ignorant and told we are to blame for the problems of other groups. Enough is enough and I think America spoke loud and clear. Sure, there are some idiot white supremists who loved Trump, but most people who do not like Clinton and the Dems plans and are sick and tired of giving and giving and then being ridiculed. The Dems better rethink things if they want the middle class back.

You really don't understand taxes, do you? Not one iota of how taxes work. Let me just give you the basics: You pay tax on your net income. If you have no net income, you don't pay tax. Period. If my business makes money - income MORE than business expenses, I pay. If my business LOSES money - income LESS than business expenses, I don't. Period. Legal, lawful, and fully endorsed by the IRS and congress.

In addition nobody, absolutely nobody pays more taxes than they are legally required to pay. I don't, you don't, nobody does.
But somehow Trump is vilified for playing by the same rules we all play by. That is, paying no more in taxes than the law requires.
If he's guilty then I'm guilty of the same thing. Don't blame him, and don't blame me.

Add to that that even Warren Buffet and the computer guy (can't think of his name right now) pay the least they can legally, even though they rail about needing to raise the tax rate on "rich". I'll bet even Cuban pays the exact amount he's liable for, and not 1 penny more. Yet somehow trump gets berated for following the tax code? By people that have no clue? Buzz words. And the idiots that don't understand, adds up to stupidness.

Get back to me on that one .. your getting more and more like Swish daily ... FACTS - who cares This is one of many things that blows my mind. He isn't a tax evader. He uses the tax laws to pay the least amount as possible JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! Does anyone here crying about his or her taxes ever use a tax service like H.R. Block? Or software like Turbo Tax? They are used to get you the best refund / lowest payment. Liberals love Warren Buffett. The same multi-billionaire who has stated NUMEROUS times that his tax rate is the same if not lower than his secretary's. Why? Because he uses the laws on the books. I bet you every penny I have the Clinton's have written off everything they can to LOWER their taxes. Trump was correct in the debate when hit by Clinton about low tax payments when he said "That makes me smart." I knew he would get heat for it, but the man was correct and does NOTHING different than every American by April 15th every year. Anyone want that fixed? Fix the tax code. Don't go crying about someone who used his brain LEAGALLY.

While I agree, I also don't see why any one would think Trump would want to change this. He benefits greatly from such loopholes. Am I supposed to believe he wants to close the loopholes that he uses so 'smartly'?

This was one of the things that bothered me about Trump (one of many things to be honest) I don't see him doing anything to the tax code that doesn't benefit him.

Also, I will say it. How many strong armed spread offense QBs who can't read defenses do we see every year? They're a dime a dozen. There will be some overhyped spread offense QB next year who puts up gaudy stats.

Do you mean 10% for the rich isn't the same as 10% for the poor. I mean this.... "Trump’s tax plan would cut income tax rates while capping deductions for the wealthy. He would also reduce the business tax rate to 15 percent and eliminate the estate tax. Workers at every income level would enjoy lower taxes under Trump’s plan, but the biggest beneficiaries by far are the very wealthy. Estimates from the Tax Policy Center and the Tax Foundation estimate that the top 1 percent of income households would see their after-tax incomes rise by 10.2 to 13 percent under Trump’s plan, while “middle income” households -- those from the 40th to the 60th percentile -- would see an increase of 1.3 to 1.8 percent. Tax savings at all levels could be higher from economic growth, but the wealthy still see the biggest bump." http://www.npr.org/2016/11/10/501597652/fact-check-donald-trumps-first-100-days-action-plan

Personally I see the National Debt rising during the first year of the Trump Presidency. He will borrow to begin the rebuild of infrastructure in our Nation. He will borrow to fill in our hollowed out Military.
I see Interest rates rising due to the fact the Fed's actions over the years have not worked to stimulate the economy. Mortgage rates will rise to a point where housing once again becomes overpriced and house prices will drop.
We may face the bursting of the Bond Market bubble which will upset the apple cart for a while.
In the end of his first 4 years however, the debt will be falling quickly as his tax breaks and the removal of much of the red tape which business, industry, and banking are currently being held back by, will stimulate our economy.
We will grow our way out of this mess, and that is how it should be.

I'm sure the tax break he'll give he and his rich buddies will be exponentially greater. Want to wager a sig bet on that? See this is where you show either your lack of knowledge or your inability to look at actual #'s ... But before i go there .. i find it HYSTERICAL that u libs want to prop up Hillary .. the one that took over 12 million from Goldman Sachs alone ... how much did she take from the rest of Big Business? ... Zuckenberg, Besos, Soros, the pharmaceutical companies .... once again the list is endless ... also wonder what they "donated" to her "foundation" ... Here's a PERFECT EXAMPLE .... Three of ted Cruz's biggest donors were all hedge fund managers from Texas and he knew them from high school or their ivy league days .... They started a PAC for him and gave him 12 million and said we've been burned the last two elections .. lets see how u do before we put more in ... 12 MILLION was their SEED money ... no clue what happend after that ... Well come to find out 8 years ago when oBUMa won they got afraid .. all 3 of them became residents of the Dominican Republic or one of those Central American countries where they don't have to pay a PENNY of personal income tax to the US .... YUP, lets keep taxing the rich .... BRILLIANT!!!! Why do u think there's in the vicinity of 2 TRILLION DOLLARS that US companies are leaving offshore? .. why do u think that is? STOP and THINK for a minute before going all gaga over a bunch of crap spewed about raising taxes on the rich or big business ... ITS HOGWASH .... It FEELS GOOD ... woooohooooo .. get them bastards ... but it NEVER, EVER WORKS THAT WAY ... Apple alone has around 200 million that is sitting overseas being invested into R&D and engineering jobs ... why? ... Cause they'd have to pay in the ballpark of 65 BILLION to bring it back ... Like i said .. once in awhile don't get all giddy over the false promise of RAISING TAXES on big business or the rich ... IT NEVER WORKS THAT WAY ... Will be interesting to see what shakes out over the next few years ... Apple is currently in court battles in two countries cause they want Apple to pay tax on the money there "hiding" there ... My guess is now that we have a prez with a BUSINESS BRAIN these countries will back off Apple and settle for pennies on the dollar instead of 33 cents on the dollar .... STOP AND THINK PEOPLE! 1 + 1 = 2 ...

Re-read that article u posted yesterday ... will do so prolly every day for the next 4 or 5 days ... i find articles like that full of good info ... every time i read them I find something new ... Trump has to govern with people who determine their direction not by what's the best thing for the country but what is best for them to get re-elected. I doubt Trump will run again, dude is getting up there in years and that's a tough enough job when you're young. I think he really will try to keep his promises and govern for what he perceives as the betterment of the country but I doubt he'll be successful.
The machine is too big and it will eat him.

I really don't see interest rates rising right now. Just a .25% increase would add $50 billion to the debt, and making money more expensive could cause a drop in investment borrowing.
I hate that we are in this position, where rates are nothing ..... and I believe it has hurt a lot of people, by destroying the value of their savings. However, I think that we need to get growth moving in the right direction before we raise rates.

I'd be a tad surprised if Trump doesn't introduce negative interest rates during his term.

I see .35 rise almost immediately.
The more interesting aspect of a Trump Presidency will be his Social Policy.
LBGTQ are safe under Trump, he will veto anything that hurts them. The rest of the issues, we will see.
